Got a letter from them saying we owe u.s. cellular a lot of money. And they have a good amount tacked on to it as well.    Thing is,  we do not owe U.S. cellular a penny..   Sounds scam to me.

Wanted me to verify my last four and/or address before they would even tell me who was calling. I told them I wasn't going to verify anything. If this is a collection company then they must not want that money very badly.

Received yet another phone call from these people. I have caller I.D. and any 1-800 numbers I do not answer. I hope they  get the message I will not talk to them, period. The first time they had some guy from India who called here, didn't understand his language but he understood the sound of a phone receiver hanging up on him!

The company also goes by the name Converges, or something very similar to that name. Bill collectors from a past due bill from TMobile cellular.

Ok,  If you never get calls from outside your area your method can work.

My family is everywhere.  We are spread-out over 3 time zones.  One relative travels internationally for work.  Your method wouldn't work for me.

The people I'm interested in taking a call from show up on screen (as their name in English) from my contact list. I can recognize a local call from an out of state call before the second ring. Reverse number look-up exists for the questionables, and I do use it.  And there's always text messaging.  My kids don't have a problem getting ahold of me. There's even an extended family grapevine.

Nope, no voicemail -- good way to get the phone bugged by the psychotic ex

"....  I take NO calls from anyone I don't know, and I don't have a voicemail box set up either.... "

Have you memorized the phone number of every hospital, clinic, police station, and car repair place in your area?  If one of your kids gets ill or injured and needs your help at the hospital how will they contact you?  What happens if they have car trouble and need your help?

Dont' say "they'll call on their cell phone".  Cell phones don't work in all areas.  They aren't allowed in some hospitals.  And they need to be charged.  Or maybe the phone was lost during the rescue (ie, while the paramedics were cutting your badly-injured kid out of the wrecked car),

Do your kids a favor - get voicemail.

I love cell phones.  I take NO calls from anyone I don't know, and I don't have a voicemail box set up either.  Anyone trying to reach me so desperately still has access to the mails (send me that past due bill or copy of contract you think I broke since you'll need it for court anyway) and my address is no big secret if they have access to credit reports.  Someone was calling number "withheld" for a couple of months before I accidentally answered (thought it was one of my kids). Recording:  "This is US Cellular (calling my AT&T phone) and we need to talk to you about your account please call XXX.......I hung up.  I have never done business with US Cellular, and why the sneaky "Withheld" if they are making a legit call? A couple more weeks of "withheld" and now a new number 800-331-6892.  Thanks you all, for letting me know who it is. So now US Cellular, who was never out a dime from me, actually made money selling my "account" to EZ Solutions. That's quite a scam -- couldn't happen to nicer people.  Well, I don't owe EZ solutions any money either and they've never performed a service for me -- so why should I talk to them????  They take advantage of decent people -- it's a tar baby to try and straighten anything out with them.  Don't take the bait. There's no mix-up, it's a scam from the start.

Personal disclaimer: I went through a very nasty divorce and my credit rating (778) was trashed by the end of it.  It's very possible this is an identity theft, but more likely is a total fraud, trying to get me to orally contract with them just by talking with them.  If I don't talk to them - NO CONTRACT.  If there's no contract, there's nothing for a court to adjudicate. Buh-bye ER solutions.

I received a call from the same number - 8003316892 and they said they want to verify my information that they have a financial matter and wanted to verify last 4 digits of social security then address.  WE said NO way.  After questioning him, he said he was from ERS Solutions??  Never heard of them.  After we said - NO we are not verifying info with him again, he said - fine, I will put your file on the desk for our matter.

Received a call on my cell phone looking for my dad.  When I informed them that it was my cell and not my dad's phone number, they asked if I could pass along their number to him.  All they would say is that it was regarding a personal business matter.  Sounds like a scam to me!

Caller identified herself as Anita Taylor with ER Solutions out of Seattle Washington. She tried to tell me she does not have an employee number... A national corporation that doesn't use employee numbers... right. I told her I was going to confirm the bill in question with the company she said she was calling on behalf of. She got rather rude and snippy. I believe she somehow got hold of some information and was trying to collect on her behalf, not the company's. I could be wrong. For one thing, I did find a manageable outstanding debt (I admit to having had financial problems on more than one occasion). I called the company and made an electronic payment by an automated system. The information was authorized and confirmed. In my experience, when a bill has gone to collections, it cannot be paid to the originating company, because now those monies are shared with the collection company.
ERS is, in fact, a Convergent Company out of Renton (aka Seattle) Washington, and other locations as well. However, their number is 800-444-8485 which can be found at http://www.convergentusa.com/Corp/about/contactus.php?l=3
I have placed a call with Convergent. I will be verifying this "Anita Taylor" at this other number. If they are not related, I will of course be recommending they pursue investigation and prosecution.

This is exactly what happened to me. And I even got a call from the 206 number/Seattle a few days ago. I had a mix-up with US Cellular (not even my service but they had my number somehow) and have since fixed it a few months ago. So if this is ER Solutions coming to collect on US Cellular's behalf I'm going to be really annoyed.

When you call a toll free number, they will always have the ability to see your calling number (caller ID). It doesn't matter if you have it blocked, they pay for the incoming call, so they get to see the number. There inbound telephone service/IP phone service will display your number and if it matches their records... they got your name. (Or the name they have tied to your number.)

Credibility: I worked 8 years with a nationwide ISP and learned a lot about toll free numbers during this time frame.

I have been the target of identity theives 3 times over a 10 year period. It happened after started my first business in 2000. You need to keep close tabs on your credit file and take note in any changes. Even if someone reviews your file, you need to make sure that it's legitimate. A lot of times somebody will attempt to run a credit check and if things are "okay", take out a line of credit to make purchases in your name. You will never receive a bill until it goes to collections.

I urge you to get the free credit report either from Experian, TransUnion or Equifax. My experience was best with Experian. It's hard to get sometimes, but once you got it, never lose your assigned report number. You may access your profile at any point in the future with that report number. Future requests will show additional changes when after they occur.

At 3:45pm PST on July 30th, 2009 I received a phone call from 800-331-6892. A woman answered the call, introducing herself as Mattie from ER Solutions. After I had her verify the spelling of her name, I informed her that the phone call was being recorded my record keeping and she does that is okay. She asked me if I knew my reference account number and I said no and she then replied that okay we can look it up with your last name. I said Maietta M a i e t t a and the ask my first name. I said Nicholas N i c h o l a s. I after she confirmed she got the spelling correct, I then stated that I am requesting that from this point forward that I be contacted via mail to my pobox on file. I also informed her that phone calls to my number incur a cost on my end, not just theirs. She said she understood and confirmed my pobox with me. She seemed polite about it.

About 2 days ago I received a phone call from ER Solutions from the same phone number. The guy introduced himself as "Johnny". He was very rude with me and demanded that I make a payment. I informed him that I am homeless and without work. I told him that when I am back on my feet I will start to make payments but as of the time of the call that I was unable to even make a good faith payment because I am literally without any cash or electronic. He then got more rude with me by stating that I better start paying or things will get worse for me. I told him he needed to understand that acting like an a***ole on the phone is no way to treat a client. I reminded him that the company he works for didn't have to purchase or receive the charged-off account once belonging to US Cellular. He hung up the phone on me.

That's when you call the police. For Identity theft. Presuming that it is true that you do not know the person in anyway or do a co-sign for the person. And there is no such thing as a third party co-signer as far as I know of. As for the company that continues to harrass you file charges. Personally I'd sue the lady for incompetence as well as for false accusation.

I got a call from them yesterday, I couldn't hear the name so I stayed on the line. So when someone came on They were like your owe 1,260 for a cell phone bill you co-signed for. I was like what the heck are you talking about I didn't co-sign for anyone. She said yes you did, I told her no I didn't, why would I co-sign for someone when I don't even have a cellphone. Then the cow had the nerve to say EXCUSE ME YOU DON'T UUNDERSTAND. I was like you don't understand I am not paying someone else's bill. She said I agreed to it over the phone. I live in california and this persons cell phone is out of Nebraska. Who in there right mind does a 3rd party co-sign over the phone. *sigh* Venting GRRR
