Like many others that have posted, I believe this is a complete scam. They had my name and phone, so being curious as to how I could have anything outstanding I followed up. Left a message questioning their clam. My call was returned by an individual named Chris who started out saying he was returning my rude message. He further attempted to begin verifying my information. I informed of my name and that was all I would verify, I further demanded that he provide details. He kept trying to get my info and I again stated who I am and just wanted to know what this was about in a firm voice. He hung up. Guessing this is a bunch of crap and they're attempting to collect information, for what purposes I don't know. I found the timing of this interesting as my bank had sent me a new bank card stating a location I used it at had their transitions comparmised and as a precaution were canceling my old card to ensure no fraud would take place in the future. Then I get this call. Very odd.  If this were a true collection agency, I do not believe they would've hung up just because I demand what it was about. I did not yell or curse at him, simply refused to answer any further questions. To me that says, forget it, we can't scam this guy and they moved on.

Leave me alone. The other guy left.

"Howard Park" with "Grant and Weber" left a message on my answering machine saying that he was "returning your call" & that it was "imperative" that I call him back today. Um. Since I never called him, don't know who he is & never heard of "Grant & Weber," why should I?

If you have the documentation sue G&W in small claims court.
NO attorneys allowed in small claims.
Also a statement from the CC Company, hospital and insurance company.
Check to see if G&W placed this collection activity on your credit report and sue under Federal law FCPA. Spend some time and effort. It is not that difficult to do!
If you win and reside in California check with the Superior Court in the county you reside regarding having the levy officer collect for you. The county I reside in WILL collect the amount awarded should you win from the other party regardless of who they are!

Grant and Weber are SCAM ARTISTS! They took $564.33 from my credit card and it turned out I did not owe anyone! The bill they referred to was a hospital bill from 2004 that the hospital (ST. Rose Dominican) told me was already paid in full by my insurance company and was NEVER in collections!!

I also have to say that the BBB was never helpful. In my opinion they (the BBB) are just a money making business and have no intention of actually helping people rectify obvious criminal behavior of companies. Companies pay a yearly (sometimes monthly) due to the BBB and are also able to make under-the-table donations to the BBB. The BBB is a legal Mafia.

They have been sued in Federal court several times, and have been sued as a class action several times.

The truth is that if G&W has an acct they are calling on, it was actually legally assigned to them by the hospital. Often...more than often it is the hospital and insurance company that has made the mistake. I worked for the company years ago and I can tell you first hand that much of this is just angry people who owe money, or have a an address or phone # that previously belonged to someone who owed money. This company is not like other credit card collection companies, they have to follow Hippa and FDCPA...and they do. So it's unfortunate that so many people don't pay their bills, and someone has to collect on them. But if I had to receive a collection call, I would damn sure want it to come from them as opposed to other companies who actually buy accounts.

These people call me 3 times a day, it's the same guy asking for the same person over and over again, and guess what I'm not that person. I have had this number for almost 10 months now and they say things like "well I know your voice Tisha so your not kidding anyone". Of course I ask to speak with someone higher up and they get me no where. These people will ask for my social to confirm that I am not the person they are looking for, and that's where I hang up cuz I get a bit too pissed off when they start swearing at me to cooperate. Very rude person.

They called 6/8/11 around 9:30 am. The message the person left, made it sound like a law firm that was calling. I didn't call back because of all the scams with collection agencies posing as law firms saying that it's urgent to call back asp before they take legal actions. I thought it was against the law for collection agencies to threaten people like that over the phone and to lie and say they are a law firm when they're not. If they were,then they would send a certified letter with a summons to go  court. Meaning they are suing you. Keep in mind,there is no debtors prison. The only thing that could happen is wage garnishment or seizure of property of value to pay off the debt. I learned not to answer unknown numbers or to call and talk to them and allowing them to gain too much info about yourself,your employment status and any other personal info they need to scam you with to collect a debt. why would a collection use the name Grant & Webber as their company name. I think it's so people think it's a law firm to scare them into calling back.

They called my boyfriends work phone. What the f**k !!!

Grant and Webber were extremely nice and very professional to me on the phone. According to the staff, there affiliated with St. Josephs Medical Center in Stockton Ca. These nice ladies are  just trying to do their job. I was very impressed with the staff. The Secretary Leann, is so sweet and very kind, she provided me with the name of person that called me along with her extension.  If you want to take to someone who is also kind, please ask for Rose she is a doll.  1 800 333-1656 Ext 7931 and tell her Crickett recommended you to speak with her. I received a very rude messge from this company at 4:55 p.m. with the caller providing me no relevent information, just Demanding that I call him back at Grant and Weber right away (with an intonation:"Or Else!!")  Who are these people and how did they get my name?  I thank you for being here to give info. about this company.  I have no outstanding balances, anywhere   I called back and left a polite message.  Of course, they were all ready closed.  I plan to leave another professional message requesting the company they are representing, so I can call them directly, since you all provided great information.  Any other advice?  Thank You!

Keep calling my number for somebody who does not have access to my number! These people  are very rude & very demanding. When I tell them they got the wrong number they become more rude!!

Called to harass me about a bill I had already paid.  Thanks, guys.  Threatened to do some crap to  my credit, and didn't believe me when I told them I had already paid the bill.  Tried to get me to give them my date of birth, and with their insanely unprofessional attitude it sounded more like a phishing scam than a collections agency.  Were REALLY rude.  The agent sounded like a drunk, angry frat boy trying to convince me to give it up.

Called the company the bill was for (Academy of Art University), and they verified the bill was in fact paid, and they didn't know why they sent it to the collections agency, but said agency could have already sh*t all over my credit with no way to take it back.  Grant and Webber is a really professional organization with amazing employees.

Ignore their sh*t and call the company they're claiming to be representing.
