They left a recording asking if I was the person they are calling for. Then they left a personal message, saying they are a debt collector.

It's Comcast. I called them to talk about changing plans and pressed 1 that I'd like to answer a survey. The robo voice said I'd receive a call with the survey about a half hour after I hung up with the customer service rep.
I got two calls and would have happily answered and taken their survey if they had identified themselves as COMCAST on the caller id. I don't answer unknown 800 number calls.
That's Comcast for you.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced
Sir Bedevere 2014-02-05 13:42:28 Survey
Comcast customer satisfaction survey, which I requested. I'm posting here because the idiots at Comcast have this number set up to identify itself as "UNAVAILABLE". Dumb, dumb, dumb.
I know Comcast is famous for poor customer service but you'd think even they would be smart enough that most people won't pick up a call from a number they don't know from an "unidentified" caller. (Actually, I suspected they could be this stupid, which is why I took a chance and picked up the call.)
ATTENTION BUSINESS CALLERS: It is now the year 2014 and if you want customers to answer your calls you have to identify yourselves.

I didn't answer as it didn't state who was calling. I would have if it had said Comcast. Why do they need to be so sneaky???

I would like the number of the owner/owners of comcast, so that I can call them all hours of the day and night. How can I contact the owners of comcast?
CW 2013-10-25 18:14:28 Survey
"Courtesy" call from Comcast when you opt to participate in their survey. Always the same two automated questions; never let's you actually say anything to add commentary.
By the by, whenever you call Comcast, choose the option to take the survey -- you get better customer support when you do. I've had to deal with their CS a number of occasions, and when I opt for the survey, the CSR is (relatively) polite and takes the time to help with the issue. When I don't opt for the survey, they send me to India, Pakistan, or wherever the devil their generic call center is, they treat you horribly, and you can't understand a blessed thing they say. Great way to cook the numbers for having such a high percentage of customer support satisfaction.

Must have been Comcast because I had talked to them earlier which was a miracle in itself. But I couldn't ask questions about phone and cable to the same person so I had to call twice. Ridiculous!!! Lousy customer service!

I made 6 calls and a trip to the local center to pick up a new digital adapter and a set-top box (my other two of four were working fine) after I was told they were bad. They didn't work either! I called this morning - 25 minute wait. I waited a bit, tried again - after about 10 minutes I finally got a gentleman named Jeff who was very helpful.
A tech is coming out in two days - my signal is weak - can't reach the upstairs units.
It's a real shame my only other alternative is more expensive! I can remember when cable was touted as being advertisement free, because customers pay for the service themselves. Now you pay for it, have advertisements as well, and get very poor service!!

I had a similar experience a few months ago. They didn't see any outage on the internet, but when I took my modem in and got it replaced as they suggested, the person who gave it to me said just plug it in and it will work. It didn't and I had to call the number on the box, but the phone was out because the modem wasn't connected. I had to use my cell phone using up my minutes for over half and hour only to find out there WAS an outage on the internet service that day! I wasted the good part of a day between the calls and driving to the Comcast store
Then the other day I called Comcast because my internet was out and the first moron asked for my phone number and I gave it to him and got disconnected. He did NOT call me back to resolve the issue. It was 10:15 at night. I had opted to do the survey but they called at almost 11:30 after we were asleep. Idiots! I called the next morning and waited an hour on hold and no one ever answered. I finally figured out how to fix it myself. I called a month ago to ask a question and both times I got a fast busy signal and disconnect after I pushed the prompts I wanted. I never got my question answered. They have the worst customer service EVER. I would switch but the other carrier is worse! I may drop our landline, go to Earthlink for internet and just use Comcast for cable TV.

And the reason they won't leave a message is because they WANT you to call back.,if they had left a message, they realize that you WON't call back.. So, just delete their number,, eventually they wills give up.
Dewey 2013-09-26 21:23:59 Unknown
Do you think they care ?? Any time you call someone like comcast, they have your name and number. They probably wanted you to take a survey since you most likely declined while you were holding for them in the first place. That's what just happened to me. I called to find the closest comcast to return a cable box and their computer asked if I wanted to do a survey and I pushed 3 for no which probably sends a message to have someone call instead.. It has happened before and probably will again since it doesn't matter if you're on the no call list or not.. This world is so liberal now and screwed up that anyone can do anything they want.

We don't have Comcast cable, we do have internet & voip phone. Received a 'readable voicemail' from Xfinity from 800-335-7194 in Spanish - we don't speak Spanish. "Para continuar en espanol marque el dos." No idea what it means.

As of Aug 12, 2003 it is definitely comcast. There is a brief lag (10-15seconds sometimes) between the time you answer the phone and when their automated survey starts. I answered it after reading these posts. I did agree to take it when I called comcast for help earlier. Mainly because I'm usually disappointed by their level of service. I take it in hopes that it will eventually make a difference. It would be helpful if the caller id reflected who was calling though...I get more than my share of unwanted telemarketers everyday. But that's another posting...

Comcast customer service survey (that I agreed to receive a call from)

Customer survey from Comcast. It took 8 appointments (3 no-shows) to get my internet up and working, and now they are billing me for phone service I don't have and have never had. I have spent endless hours on hold and with CSRs. Comcast is the most frustrating and time-wasting outfit I have ever dealt with; they make ATT look like a dream.

even though I did agree to complete a brief survey about Comcast this AM after making a call to their customer service line, this call did not arrive in a timely manner.
Did not answer as I did not recognize the number.
Also, after picking up & saying hello twice, there was a "dead air" sound so hit the # key repeatedly to confuse the caller's system & exit the call.

Called a local comcast number in Ft Myers and the person could barely speak English. Called comcast 800 number and found out they use a call center in some third world country. A US phone company and they send you out of the country. S*** for brains was worth money they could be rich, Oh, wait a minute they are. LOL

When you put your name on the "Do not call" registry, your name is still put on the list with "do not call" , and so the company or spoofers that buy the lists, will call you anyway. I don't put my name on the list anymore, as it hasn't helped and I still get calls.
