NOTICE !!! This number is definitely a scam number. They stated in voice mail there was some fraudulent charges going on and I called my financial institution (bank) and they said my account was fine and they will send this number to their fraud unit. DO NOT give out any information as the banks/financial institutions already have your information. The other notes telling you this was a legit number are scam notes to back up their scam phone.

I was a bit wary when this number called and left a voicemail the other day and told me they wanted to talk about activity on my debit card. I called my bank, Associated Bank, customer service, and they work with them to prevent fraud. They puy a freeze on my card because I had made several online purchases and that must have been a red flag. The Associated Bank woman confirmed that I had made those purchases and unfroze my account. If you are suspicious of the number, just call your bank! They can help you. :)

It can't be legit, because I have no CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS! But they wanted to know who they were talking to and they wanted my name, SS number, and card info. I gave them NO Information about me, I don't even have a card, so hung up on them! My phone number is private and only two people know it. Those on here who say its legit I find suspicious! Just a little FYI scammers know what you have bought once they have your card details that YOU provided them or they stole. From my bank sure.... CLICK!!!

The people posting on here that its legit have to be part of the scam. FACT #1 my bank DOES NOT know my phone number. FACT #2 The place who issued my card DOES NOT know my phone number. FACT #3 They had no idea who they were calling but they wanted my name, card number, and SS number, so I hung up!

And the scammers are scamming this web site posting false information. Number called my cell phone 2 days in a row. No one but family has cell phone number. Don't give out any information to anyone calling from this number.

This is a valid number! I work in this department. We are a third party security company hired by thousands of banks and fcus across the globe to verify transactions with cardholders. When we call you directly, we do not ask for any sensitive information other than your name to verify we are speaking with the cardholder. But if we receive a call back, we ARE REQUIRED BY THE BANK to verify security information. This sometimes (depending on the bank) will include the 16 digit card number or last four of SSN. We analysts understand if you feel sceptical and in that case, we simply recommend calling customer service through your bank. They can verify who we are, what we do, and if need be, transfer you to us. We work FOR THE BANK to protect them and their cardholders from fraud. If anyone calls you directly asking for account information, DO NOT GIVE ANY, we would never call you and ask for sensitive info. If that happens call CS ASAP! But this number links directly to my department. Thanks!

This is a protection service used by many banks. They call when transactions are out of the ordinary. They called me and verified that I made transactions on my card after the google breach happened. My bank is North Shore.

This is a legit company to check for fraud activity.
They verified my address w/o asking for my cc#. After confirming that I didn't make any purchases on Christmas Day at Best Buy. They cancelled the card for me and will re-issue a new one. Once I got done with that call, I called the number on the back of the card and verified that my card was cancelled.
Crazy.

Received a call on a Sunday afternoon about my bank debit card. First thing I did was check my account info over the past month. Found absolutely nothing suspicious! While it may be true that others may have had fraudulent activity on their card that caused this service to be activated, it's a complete falsehood in my case.
I never had a company notified me about a fraud that doesn't exist yet! Relly weird, as I would expect to see a charge/debit posted that I don't recognize, and then maybe get a call (though I would think the bank expects YOU to report unauthorized charges, not the other way around).
Highly suspicious way of countering credit card fraud in my opinion. But who knows, right?

This IS a legitimate number. I called and found out that someone has been very busy charging online purchases on my business card. Half of the charges hadn't even hit my online statement yet and others were put on hold before they could reduce my balance. I am VERY lucky that they were so prompt and I called this number back or I wouldn't have noticed until my account was overdrawn. I have much more appreciation for my bank now knowing they use this service. :-)

Can't say for sure the number is a scam but the information they had was far from what was actually going on with my account & I'm sure if I wouldn't have ended the call & verified with my bank which happens to have a 24/7 customer service rep ready to help you they would have gotten information that could easily have turned the situation into a scam... LONG STORY SHORT DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION CONTACT YOUR BANK OR CREDIT CARD COMPANY!

this just happened to me last night, they asked me for my phone number, and verified my activity on my card, and i found out someone tried using my card for 640.00 at walmart. so i closed the account and then verified it with my bank.
Kristen 2012-07-19 15:16:04 Unknown
Got a call from them about charges. Number is legit. They did not ask me for the card number, just the number that they left a message on, my name, the billing address and the last 4 digits of my social. Then they stated a couple of recent charges, that I confirmed were mine and everything was fine.
Chattycat 2012-05-26 20:41:28 Unknown
This is a legit number. Got a vm saying they wanted to verify some transactions on my card. I had just made several large purchases. I called the number on back of my card to make sure they could verify the phone number on the vm. They said yes, it was their security dept and they connected me to someone right then. They asked some verification Qs and asked if I had made the purchases.

This was a valid call. My Exxon/Mobil speed pass was used quite a bit in a short period of time and in two different states. They verified transactions by amount and city and never asked for linked credit card info.
wahinaz 2011-11-02 22:28:10 Unknown
Yes, a legit number. I called the number that is listed on the back of my credit card, and they did confirm that someone from the fraud department was trying to contact me.
Larry 2011-10-10 16:52:46 Unknown
You are correct. I also checked with all of my banks directly and there was no fraud. This is a phishing scam according to one of my banks and any posts here claiming it's legit have to be a part of.

***SCAM**ALERT*** I received a message from this number, and when I called them back, they couldn't find my phone number (that they left the message on) in their records. They asked for my account number, and I said no. I then called my bank and they said THERE IS NO FRAUD ALERT ON ANY OF MY ACCOUNTS/CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS. I believe that the posts on here claiming that it is a real legitimate number are all part of the scam. The phone number that they left the message on were not attached to ANY of my accounts in any way, so how would they even know to call that number if there were any fraud alerts on my account?
The Professor 2011-08-07 17:19:14 Unknown
This # is legit, they called to verify recent charges on my credit/debit card. Did not ask for account number or any other inappropriate information.
This number is OK 2011-07-12 18:07:15 Unknown
legit. Verifying purchases I made with my ExxonMobil speed pass over the past weekend. I was traveling about 300 miles from home, and did transactions both at home and while traveling. I gave no account information over the phone and they had the exact addresses of the transactions. I think showing transactions so far apart could have triggered a fraud alert with the CC company. no worries.

This is a legitimate number. It's a service banks use. We just got a call from this number today about possible fraudulent activity on my daughter's debit card. We called her bank instead of the 800 number and they confirmed everything. She had ordered some stuff online and the expiration date on her card was wrong so they called to check it out.
djr 2011-06-06 20:57:37 Unknown
this number seems legit.
i have used this web site many times in the past to verify strange phone numbers and am taking the time to post as pay back.
called the number back and they asked to verify my phone number that the message was left at. they then asked for my last 4 soc sec. did not give them that info. i asked who they were - first data resources. THEY THEN GAVE ME the last 4 digits on the debit card and the bank that issued it. they told me to call the bank directly. i called the bank and they verified that a large group of visa numbers had been stolen from visa's system and my card was just one of many that they are dealing with.

I received multiple calls from is number. I came up as unknown on the caller ID but the recorded message left this number. They called pretty late at night so i thought it was a scam. I called the number on the back of my card and they told me that the person that called previously was from the fraud prevention dept. They were checking on a few purchases that i made online. Although this number was legit, i still wont give anyone that calls ME any personal info. I will call the number on the back of my card that i know is legit!

Its legit. I got a call today from them verifying a purchase I made. I called my bank first to ensure that it was a valid number and they confirmed. I called them back and they asked for the phone number they left the message on, the last 4 digits of my social and my mothers last name and then cofirmed my last purchase.
Neal 2011-06-06 20:57:37 Unknown
They asked me for my checking account number, I hung up at that point. Called my bank and they said they would never ask for that. This is a fraud, do not give them any information.

I accidentally missed a payment of $247 to my credit card company and they reported it to this service which in turn denied the use of the credit card. I was really upset since I have always paid my card on time. I contacted my credit card provider and they said that this was in the contract that they could deny any transaction if a payment is missed(it was 10 days past the due date). I asked them where in the contract it stated this and naturally they were unable to do so.
I was then charged with a $30 late fee for missing a $247 payment. Credit card companies deserve to go to hell.

I also got a message from this number that mentioned my banks name. So I returned the call not thinking to much about it. The woman on the other end asked me about some recent transactions (that were mine), then told me that my account had been flagged as fraudulent use, and to call my bank.
