1) They are NOT bill collectors - so breathe!
2) The company is called E-Folks, and from my experience with them/reading what other people have written they are a 3rd party company that usually gets your contact info from a company that provides credit reports. When I registered to view my credit report on one of those sites, one box I MADE SURE I UNchecked was being contacted about different free credit services. I got p*ssed and cancelled my subscription after being contacted at a number I was told was private, called the company back, spoke to a man who explained they offer free services-which are putting you in contact with other companies based on your credit needs - debt consolidation, car loans, etc.

I have been called 5 times today alone from a woman named candice at this number. i am worried this may be some kind of scam.

I signed up for credit report free trial then immediately cancelled.  I have been receiving calls from this number about 4 times a day. This is ridiculous

guy said his name was aaron marietta ad aso said he worked for credit report.com. he refered me to a out of state company, and did a good job weezling info from me. i am ticked and ready to cancel a week old subscription.

I did the same thing. I signed up for the creditreport.com & now am getting harrassed.

All of the Bull came from the Sign up for the free 4G apple phone.

I wonder if apple knows about this scam?

When you call the number back, it hangs up.

I got 7 calls in 3 hours from this number. creditreport.com are harassing us.Someone needs to put them out of business.

This number just keeps calling me.  I haven't answered it once and they NEVER leave a message.  If you call it back it hangs up on you so no luck there and I am not about to answer a call from an 800 number that can't even bother to leave a message cause obviously they know if they left a message about what they are calling about they know I wouldn't call back.  This is BS if they wake me up again I will track down this person and call them in the middle of the night!

I get calls from them two at a time and two to three times a day. I to, signed up to check my credit. The first time I received a call from them they actually left a message. Now they just call and hang up. You would think they would get the hint. They are very persistant. I don't know why they think they are gonna get anything out of me.

Just received ANOTHER call from this number, actually answered it this time.  When they asked for my sister, I told them she wasn't here and asked if I could take a message.  The answer was "Yeah, tell her Curtis called." Didn't leave a number or nothing.  When she got home, I told her Curtis called and she asked me "Who is Curtis?"  She doesn't know anybody named Curtis or why he called.

They will NOT stop calling and harrassing me!

A woman named candice keeps calling me from a credit report agency stating she has questions about my report.  I called free credit report (what I use to monitor my credit report and scores) they stated no changes have been made and to ignore her calls. So I gave them her name and number for incase anything changes that shouldn't.

Call back.  I did and gave them a piece of my mind.  They said they would take me off the call list.  I asked if they had my number and had them say it to me before I told them.  We'll see if it works.

I finally called them back after about a week of calling 5-10 times a day.  It was early in the morning to late at night.  They never left a message so I knew it couldn't have been important.  I told them immediately that someone was calling my phone constantly and I wanted it to stop.  He said he was calling from free credit reporrt.com.  I said I didn't want anything to do with that and he said he would take my number off the call list.  Then I hung up.  I have never sent my number or had anything to do with freecreditreport.com.  This was a scam, I think.  Don't give them any information.  Answer, be rude and ask that your name be taken off the call list.

I called the number they said they would remove it.. its from credit report .com  its annoying..

I also signed up for credit report.com. I did cancel the service ever since then
Nothing but unwanted calls from these people. All hours of the day. When u do answer
They don't tell you name of company just put you on hold.
Next time I will deal with them.

Received a call at 6:45am PST.  Got to my cell after the caller hung up.  Saw this number and didn't recognize it.  On a whim, I decided to check my bank account.  Seems I've signed up for CreditReport.com at $24.90 and $19.90 with 866-883-3309 attached to it.  I have no knowledge ever doing so.

I am not pleased.

I got a strange call the other day from a collections company for an unidentified bill.  Since a friend just had her identity stolen, I used freecreditreport.com to see if I was in the same pickle.  I ticked "repair credit" since I feared that's what led to collections call.  Now, these people called my cell twice this morning without leaving a message.  I tried to call back and I got the tail end of a recording followed by music.  There was no way to leave a message.  I waited a few minutes until the music had my teeth on edge and hung up.

I've received 4 calls from this number in the past few days, each time they just hang up without speaking a word.  just 51 minuts ago I got another call, this time some girl named Julie said she was calling as a follow up for my inquiry at creditreport.com. She stated that all credit inquiries are followed up with a phone call for conformation purposes.

Note: that I did NOT ever go to this website "creditreport.com".  she said "well is there a chance your wife used your information to pull your credit report?" and I said "no, I highly doubt it.

So the final straw, she said "OK then, I am going to go ahead and put you down as having been contacted." and I said "why??" - but guess what? I was talking to dead air.  the call was disconnected.

These sonsofbitches need to die of ghonorhea and rot in hell.

I too signed up with free credit report dot com, I have been getting about 4 calls from this number a day for the last 2 weeks, after reading this forum, I will answer it next time, and tell them:  PUT THIS NUMBER ON YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST!  Legally they have too, and depending on your state laws about telemarketing, you can get a fine imposed on the company and possibly paid to you. I am not sure where you can find this info in your state, but many years ago, I breifly worked at a telemarketing agency and they STRESSED putting peoples names on the DO NOT CALL list if they asked, and said that they could get fined if they were called again.  So, write down when you told them, date and time, and who you were talking to, if they call again, ask to speak to a manager, and I guess google the fine info in your state.  Hope that helps!

These telemarketers got the names and numbers from FreeCreditReport.com. Even AFTER I marked the boxes DO NOT SHARE MY INFORMATION they continue to call and be pests.

I am 100% sure this is the source because I gave a bogus name and that's the one they ask for every time.

And don't try to call FreeCredit Report because they don't care. This is how they make the credit reports free--by selling your personal information!!

Same here 4to6 time a day and they have the balls to call me on the weekend..by law they can olny call between 8am 9pm m-f

I signed up on www.creditreport.com this morning around 1030 and by 1240 this number was calling me. I called them and told them to stop calling. We'll see if it happens.

Stay away from www.creditreport.com is the moral of the story.

Same here. These people call from 3 to 5 times a day every single day. You'd think that they would at least take a holiday or Sunday off? Sheesh. I told them that I did not want their services and that I did not ask for their services. Yet, still they keep calling. How did the get my number to begin with? It seems that the place where I decided to get the "free" (not so) credit report must have "accidentally" passed on my cell number to this group after I screwed up by selecting the choice where I wanted to work on repairing my credit. At absolutely no time did I request an assist on this. Also, make sure that you call the "free" credit report place to cancel any "free" "trial" (which is actually shown as $1.00 charge on your credit card). They will say that you're cancelled and even eventually send a confirmation email to confirm that fact but then you get all of these emails for upward to 2 weeks later that read as if you are still a customer. Never did get a credit report of any kind from anyone during all of this mess. If they don't stop, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

I keep getting calls from this number for the last few days at least 2-3 times a day never leaving me a message. Driving me crazy, don't know how they even got my number.

i have no clue who these people are but the same thing happens to me also i call them back and i get hung up on if there is anyway possible to have them say something ok but not saying anything that is kind of nerve racking
