I have gotten hundreds of calls from this number.  Discover Card's ACTUAL number ends with 7449.  I'm nowhere near my limit and certainly not late on payments.  If there was an "urgent message," it would appear online in my message center.

(800)347-4779 is not a Discover number, according the the Discover operator I spoke with today. I haven't yet had a person on the line when this number calls multiple times a day, but now I know what I'm dealing with.

This is not a Discover card Phone Number. The number 1-800-347-4779 looks like belong to them but is not. I call directly to the company they don't have anything to do with this number. Its a Scam trying to get you info. DON'T GIVE ANY INFO. They will tell you the first four numbers of your card, but that's all they have, because all Discover Cards start with those same number. The person calling have a pretty strong accent. Beware!

I have been receiving calls indicating they are from Discover Financial.  The phone number they are calling from 1-800-347-4779.  They have called multiple times asking for my name, however because my husband is answering the phone they hang up.  This morning 2/17/14 I received a call from this number and again, I received a hang up.  I investigated this number on the internet and it turns out to be a scam.  Therefore, I have *77 to block any further calls from coming in.

If you receive calls from this number (800-347-4779) do not give any information to them.  They show as a telemarketer and this is a scam.  Be careful who you give information to.

They have called me multiple times. My personal policy is, "If I don't know the number and there is no message, the number gets blocked/ignored". With the cyber-security training I have gone through for my employer, I have not, nor will I ever, answer any call if I do not know the number. If they find out your number is active, it will be sold to other similar companies and potentially can furnish you with more problems than you ever imagined..

This was a legit call. I thought it was a scam and contacted Discover. She said it was legit and I told her how rude they were and she said she would contact the supervisor and tell them, and have the calls stopped.

I just went thru the Caller ID on our phone and in 3 days they have called me a total of 18 times (6x's a day, every hour) and they never leave a message. Starting to piss me off.

I have repeatedly told these people when they call me, not to call me again and remove my number from their calling tree.  Yes I have a Discover card, but do not want them calling me. They still call 4 to 6 times a day, 7 days a week. I don't even let them speak, I just tell them not to call.

These people are relentless, they are fraudulent. I just finished talking to discover fraud department, it was confirmed. IM SO GLAD I DIDNT GIVE THEM ACCOUNT INFO!!!!

Whomever this number belongs to they just called my house at 8:50pm local time.  I was just about to fall asleep.

The worst part is they have already called me another four times since I posted this. Ridiculous!!

Thanks for letting me know it is Discover. They called me four times in the time span of six minutes. And the annoying part is that I was in a class when they called. Luckily my phone was on silent and didn't disturb any classmates or my teacher.

Called 3 times today; once they left a message and the other two times they just hung up.  I don't have a Discover Card so there isn't any reason for them to be calling me except to try to get me to accept their card which I don't want nor do I need.

Pay your bill to who scam artist's, read on and pay attention you might learn something

It's Discover.  Although I'm close to my limit, I'm still below it and pay at least the minimum payment on time every month.  I don't appreciate these calls, as I have no need to enroll in automatic payments.

This was NOT really Discover calling.  It is also illegal to call using a pre-recorded device to make phone calls, too. Please, report them to the Do Not Call Registry, because it is illegal to call before 9am, call on a Sunday, or EVER call using a pre-recorded device.  

It is DEFINITELY someone phishing for your information.  Do not answer any numbers you do NOT recognize.  Do not EVER give information over the phone to ANYONE that calls you.  THERE ARE ways to make a number APPEAR to be coming from a number you recognize, too.

If the caller asks for personal information, look up their REAL phone number (Such as Discover in this case), and see if this company REALLY CALLED YOU, and they will say NO, because it was NOT them.  You can ask them if they violated 3 laws, too...calling on a pre-recorded message, called you before 9am, or call its customers on a Sunday.  They NEVER should do this, regardless if you have an account with them, or not.

Also, the option that says "Did you EVER do business with THIS company?"  Please say NO...because, this is NOT Discover's REAL phone number, and you NEVER should have done business with the person trying to PRETEND to be Discover.

If it really is Discover, then they will know I do not even have a card with them.  They know I had this same phone number for over 10 years, and appearently, although they cannot pronounce it, they seem to know my name, but have NO BUSINESS calling my number.  I have NEVER done business with them, and do NOT intend to.  It is not even on my credit report.  It has been reported to the DoNotCall Registry, because I am registered on it, but since it is a pre-recorded message (These are ILLEGAL PHONE CALLS), and can be reported REGARDLESS if you are on the DoNotCall List, or not.  1+888-382-1222 is the DoNotCall Registry to register a complaint against this company.  IT IS NOT DISCOVER...because, I do NOT have a card with them, yet they have my name and number and ASSUME everyone they call have one.  I also receive calls from CitiBank, and American Express and DO NOT HAVE THEIR CARDS, either.  IT IS A SCAM.  They are just phishing for information.  Please, do NOT give them any MORE information than they have.  They ONLY have my name and number, so far...but, this is bad enough.  I also DID contact Discover, and they do NOT recognize this phone number.

Every day, 4 times a day. They never say who they are. Just that they will "try back later."

So bogus. My Discover card is paid up. Even have cashback. Trolls!

I was awakened by this call at 8:30AM this morning.
I didn't answer. No message was left.
I thought it was illegal to call before 9:00am.
I have a Discover card which is in good standing.Even if it wasn't, they have NO business calling here this early!
I live by the rules,why do they think they don't have too?

They have called 3-4 times a day for several weeks.  Answered this evening and was told I owed a payment due in a few days.  Payment had been paid several  days ago (paid ahead of due date) and already went thru the bank. Kept hounding me to set up an automatic payment for each month, all she needed was my bank information, etc.  She was very aggressive  so I hung up on her.  This  is a scam.

They say they r from Discover and will give me a lower interest rate of 17.99% for one year if I sign up for auto payments over the phone. I asked if it was available if I signed up online & they said no.

I called my Discover Co. and they verified it is a scam, they r fishing for your account information.

Got a call from this number but I do not have a discover account, nor ever had 1 .....

This number was calling me about 8x a day, so finally I pick up the girl said shes from discover card (my account is completely fine never missed a payment etc) then she asks me 3x is this Nicole I said YES how many times are you going to ask me that and why are you calling she proceeds to yell IM CALLING TO SEE IF YOU WANTED AUTOMATED PAYMENTS SET UP WITH A PROMOTIONAL OFFER, her attitude was as if I was deliquent and refused to pay a bill so i said no not interested she said well I want to set up auto pymt so I hung up on her.  I called Discover and told them how disgusted I was with the way promotional offers are given over the phone then the rep tells me discovers marketing dept doesnt set up auto payments so she doesnt know why the girl said that and my account looks great so they put me on the do not call list with there marketing dept, so dam ridiculous you get harrased even when you do pay your bills!
