got the yellow postcard - hardship offer with a benefits ID # for debt reduction eligibility -- and a deadline after which it may affect the amount of debt reduced -- estimating my debt and an estimated monthly payment, not specifying if that is meant to be my current payment or a future hardship "benefit" payment. Also, very careful to specify "confidential information - please review entire document" - that's a laugh since there was no further information to review.

I just received one yesterday - Aug. 20, 2012 - with a "benefits ID #" and the same phone number as Sarah sited here. After calling the number, an automated answering service requested "first name, a file number, if you have one, and a telephone number to call you back." No company name is mentioned anywhere by the way. Sounds like a SCAM indeed.

Today - July 30, 2012 I received one but the number is 800-525-8053. It is a scam - don't call the number.

This number was on a yellow postcard I received in the mail. It said I am pre-approved for a certain amount of money as a "Credit Card Hardship".
