Over the past week, gotten several strange "spoofed" disguised phone calls I let my voice mail handle; scammers NEVER leave call back messages......until THIS particular one. Report these tele-scam scumbags to your insurance company and let THEM handle the matter. NEVER answer calls from these scammers---NEVER call them back.

Interesting.....I've been getting mysterious calls from "Member Services" that DO carry some "out of state" phone number; they hang up after the third ring.  And we've gotten some other strange "out of state" calls I've managed to track as far as Ottwa, Canada and one from Cuba---where the person on the other end, flat out told me not only was he a tele-scammer...but that the U.S. could NOT touch him, he enjoyed snagging "American idiots with full support of Cuba ( government )".

But we must remember: Federal Laws force Debt Collectors to be VERY careful when recording voice mail; they can NOT disclose WHO their client is or how much money owed.

But this particular number DID leave a vague voicemail---but none of my family has been to an ER in 10 years; so the call might be a legit wrong number called......or it might be a boldly stupid ( desperate ) tele-scam crew.

SCAM! After receiving 8 calls from a 0000000000 #they fifinally left a message saying to call back the 1800 #. No further details. No one in my immediate family has been to the hospital or Dr in over a year. This is just some pathetic people who are too lazy to get a job and work for their own money. Leeches, that's what they are.

Called my insurance company who in turn, called the number for me. They are calling on behalf of a hospital because somebody from the hospital passed on some wrong  information to the billing company. In my case, they had the wrong number so the call didn't pertain to me.

That is why I called my insurance company because you can never be too cautious.

This number maps to French Antarctic islands. Quit calling people claiming we have unpaid medical bills. United states don't use other countries for collection purposes. I'm reporting this and all the scammers out there. Leave us be.

That 1-800-355-2470 is located in the French antartic islands. If someone calls u from a 000-000-0000 number they a scam anyway. Then they want me to call the number above to give my personal info? Really?? Map the numbers people. United states does not use anyone in other countries or islands to collect debts. Always check before giving info. Be careful everyone there are many scams from there and every where

If this isnt scam why when they call u do they call from 000-000-0000 number? Come on people. Yes they leave that 1-800 number on your voicemail but if legit why hide their number from the start? They want my info than they can mail me paperwork. It's not outstanding when it hasn't even been 30 days and even physicians mail the bill first. Every time they call me it's the all 0 Number then they want me to call a 1-800 number? Bill me. I'm not paying or giving info over the phone. I say it's a scam

Mary, the reason why you get 00000000000 (or some other bogus number) on your caller ID is they are using Caller ID spoofing software to mask their number (and thereby avoid threats). Spoofing is legal when the call itself is for valid legal reasons, either for businesses, or personally. Personally I feel it should be made illegal altogether, but that's just my opinion. I feel it's extremely tacky for ANY business to spoof their phone numbers.

I received a call from this number, it showed up in my "other telemarketers" that I have black listed since years ago.  However a recorded message was left on my voicemail that I needed to call them back regarding a recent ER visit for insurance purposes.  The hospital I visited and my insurance company would never leave a message like that.  I corresponded with the insurance and the hospital and verified this is a scam.  Did not call the number back.  Do not be fooled if you get a call like this!!!

Received (8) of the 0000000000 calls over the last few days --- I never answer unidentified calls and they did not leave a message -- finally, today, they did, asking me to return a call to this service.  Since the call came to my cell phone, and we have not seen the inside of an emergency room in the last 4-5 years, this has to be a scam ----- and, I suspect those persons that have replied, saying it is not a scam, are part of the scam.

Received a call from the above number today. NO caller ID and PH# 000-000-0000 thought it looked fishy. Talked to the rep and she wanted to verify the name on my insurance card and verify my birh date. After providing that information I refused to provide anymore info since Caller ID looked strange. I asked for her name (Markia)  and phone number to call her back to ensure she was legit. I dialed 800-355-2470 and connected to Member services. After on hold for a few minutes and talked to a live person and asked to talk to "Markia" she didn't know of her unless I had a last name, she then asked for my home number to search for recent calls. I provided but she didn't have that number listed. she asked for my last name, again my name didn't show up. I told the person if it's that important she could call me back because I am not going to waste anymore time with this company. It appears this company, if its legit,  is very unorganized and needs to train their employess better. From the outside they act like SCAMMERS, .....perhaps they are. Just Aware. Proceed with caution.

Got 2 bills from them, one bill has this number, the other is 8888983291. Both of them carry the name BestPractices, Inc. Both demand money for ER visits and one bill ask to send to Baltimore, MD, the other bill ask to send to Philadelphia, PA. God dam it, and there is no way to verify the frigging amount of money and validity of the bills.

I went to the ER myself the other day. When I was coming out I ask; how much did I owed ? The front desk person told me that with my plan I owe them nothing. Now I am receiving these calls from a 000-000-0000 number. Just 0's. Since I answer and no one ever says hello I hang up. Now I got this message in my answering machine to call this 355-2470 number. 1) You wanted to charge me. The time do that was when I was there at the hospital. Not now. 2) If you are trying to charge me now, is not going to happen, not over the phone, not on the internet and I am not wasting my valuable time going anywhere as well. 3) You should charge the people in person and quit doing these network fantasy charge invention crap to include a "middle man" to charge you and then mess with people's credit. 4) Sooner or later, someone is going to mess with you as well.

Called the same 800# and they state they do the billing for the ER doctors and that my elderly mother owes over 1600$.  When I contacted both Humana and the hospital there is a 0 balance.  Sounds like a scam to me.

Someone called identified themselves as Lake Point Emergency Room and began to ask me personal questions about my husband's insurance.  I told her I did not feel comfortable and if she could give me her number and I would call her back.  The number on my caller id was 000-000-0000.  I asked why did her number not come up on caller id.  She said her company does not generate a number.  I told her I did not feel comfortable and would call her back.  She said I have all information I just need for you to verify.  I said nope.  Called Lake Point Emergency and they have no idea what I am talking about.

After receiving many calls from a private number, someone finally left a message and told me to call them back at this number. The posts above are right, these people connect your ER visit to the insurance company. The lady I talked to was nice and competent. It doesn't seem to be a scam.

Received call on June 11. No caller ID.
Regarding a recent emergency room visit; call 1-800-355-2470.
Called back; no specifics provided to me. Which ER visit? Lady said the doctor is out-of-state, and uses their billing service. I said we gave info at the hospital, he can get from them.
Don't know date, doctor or hospital. Why is doctor out-of-state if he works in this state?
They said they would mail a bill. I don't know how since I didn't give an address.

I think this a a scam to get your social security number and legal name. They left a message asking for a call back, the message was about a medical bill of some sort. when I called them back and was waiting for a rep. to talk to.Their rep is busy recording said to have your date of birth and social security number ready. Dont give them ANYTHING (please), if they have your info from a legitimate dept they will mail you a letter and then you can check out who is really calling. They are after your identity info.Their message when I called was for your social security number and identity info.I got off the phone and didn't even bother ,  The message to call them on my message system did not even state that this message is soley intended for( your name. ) If this was from a legitimate debt collector, it would have stated if you are not (your name) hang up immediatly. This message is intended soley for (your name) if you are not (your name) hang up or disregard this message. Also their intial message didn't list a name, they are fishing for your identiy, Especially dont let any eldery person even call them. The people that you do business with have all your info.  Banks, hospital , etc. You would not need to give it to them again. A collection agency will have their file number and the name and account of your intial creditor on their letterhead. People will do anything to get your money. Thats why the one fellow that paid them can't get if took off his credit. The collection agency  that bought the account from the intial creditorwould have been able to take it off. thes guys aren't them.

A person left a message and stated she was from a Company called Provider Services (There was no caller ID). I was ask me to fill in some medical information for my insurance for a visit I had made to a local hospitals emergency room visit.  When I told her to answer specific questions she had and I would verify her answer, she refused and then hung up !
.

Please let your family members know that if they receive a call like this just tell them to take their number and report the number on line for what they are - scammers.

The caller left a voicemail to call them back about an emergency visit.  I thought it was my insurance company, but they have never called me about any of our visits to the hospital, doctor's offices, or emergency care places.  So I looked this number up and find that it's bogus so obviously I'm not going to return the call.

I received an Unknown Name Unknown Number on my caller ID and it was patient services. When personal questions started to be asked I requested a number to call back due to fruad this days. The gentleman seemed flustered but gave me the number 1-800-355-2470 and I found this site that confused me even more...scam...not a scam...scam...not a scam.

I called the hospital and was given a number from the party that bills for the Dr. I told her the situation and she verified that the 1-800-355-2470 was a legit call. The reason that the caller couldn't answer some of my questions is because he works in a different department and isn't trained to deal with people who are cautious or hesitant in these types of situations. They are very busy, which is why they need other departments to help out. I am able to log onto my insurance claims and see what is and isn't paid...and when visiting the ER you get a bill from the hospital and Dr (plus any testing). The Dr bill was missing from the claims.

If you have hesitation call the place where you had the service and let me verify things with you first. Which is exactly what I did.
