This heavily-accented person became very rude when I told him I was on the "Do Not Call" list.  He said, "Well, what do you have a phone for?"  I said it was to make calls out, not to receive calls from idiots like him, and I hung up.

The person called with a very thick foreign accent asking to confirm information about my business. I declined to help them and they told me that I was breaking federal law by not participating with them. I hung up on them.

I receive phone calls from these bastards wanted to sign me up for a free yellow pages internet listing i tell them to never call me again.  That only gets them going because they will mock you and continue calling and giving false information about themselves including where they are located and what number they are calling from.  What these people do is wrong and their phony operation needs to stop.

A heavily accented man kept asking me to confirm information that he said was already 'on file' and was just verifying the information. for a "free internet listing" of our business.Towards the end of the conversation he put me on hold and  he then called an automated surveying number that prompts you with questions and then records your answers, which supposedly they already had on file. I received a bill for $119.85, called them and told them I was not paying for this and to remove our information, she kept asking me why I wanted to do this. I finally got angry and she said she would make note of my request to cancel after we paid the invoice. She played back my recording it took her awhile to get it. We are on the no call list.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

YP CORP. ACQUIRES PHILLIPINES-BASED TELEMARKETING AGENCY

Long-Standing YP Corp. Vendor Acquired to Cost-Effectively Drive Subscriber Acquisitions for YP.com and LiveDeal.com

MESA, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--YP Corp. (OTCBB:YPNT - News), a leading provider of nationwide Internet Yellow Pages and online classifieds with more than 16 million business listings, today announced it has acquired substantially all of the assets of OnCall Subscriber Management Inc., which OnCall purchased recently under option from 24/7 Contact Solutions, Inc., each of Manila, Philippines. YP Corp. completed the acquisition through 24/7 Marketing, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary that will establish a branch office in the Philippines to operate the business.

The acquisition will add 170 Philippines-based employees to YP Corp.'s growing workforce and enable the company to cost effectively ramp up its outbound sales programs for YP.com and LiveDeal.com, saving YP Corp. in excess of $1.5 million per year.

Certain of the current OnCall management team will continue in their leadership roles with the company from the Manila office.

The acquisition follows YP Corp.'s recent acquisition of LiveDeal, Inc. in June. Both acquisitions are part of YP Corp.'s strategy to acquire best-of-breed technologies and business processes for the YP Corp. family in an effort to maintain the company's leadership position as the premier marketing solution for small to medium businesses.

"We are pleased with this acquisition because it supports our mission to rapidly grow our company and provide cost effective marketing solutions for our subscribers," said Dan Coury, CEO of YP Corp. "To be competitive and achieve the scale we intend to deliver, we need to own our own technology and sales centers. By owning and operating the engine that generates sales and acquires subscribers, we not only control costs but also control our destiny as a major marketing service provider."

"YP Corp. has been a long-standing 24/7 Contact Solutions, Inc. customer, so we have first-hand knowledge that it is a perfect fit for our company," said John Raven, COO of YP Corp. "We continue to carefully balance our buy vs. make business processes and made the strategic decision to bring telemarketing in-house to deliver consistent execution at the most affordable price."

I called the number800 361-8354 and told them tham that I would like to update the info of their company for the Yellow Pages, then ask them to remove your number.  I called them 2 times in 15 minutes, until they were really upset.

YP Corp. Agrees to Pay Refunds
Company Tricked Businesses into Paying for Internet Ads

Thousands of businesses, churches, schools and non-profit organizations that were billed by a Nevada company for Internet advertising they didn't know they were buying can apply for restitution under a 34-state agreement led by Attorney General Jay Nixon.

Nixon says the businesses and organizations often did not realize that depositing an "activation" check for $3.25 from YP Corp. -- which does business under the names YP.com, YP.net and Yellow-Page.net -- triggered a monthly charge of $25 to $30 on their telephone bills or from their bank accounts for an Internet directory listing.

Under the agreement filed in Cole County Circuit Court, YP Corp. will pay a total of $2 million for restitution and costs to the states and also will stop using the activation checks as the sole means of obligating businesses to purchase its services.

"Over the last three years, YP.com sent more than two million activation checks into Missouri and as many as 14,000 Missouri companies and organizations deposited them, initiating the monthly charges," Nixon says.

"While more than 10,000 of those accounts were closed at the customers' request or because the charges were not paid, many of the others who continued to be billed were not even aware of the ongoing charges until they were contacted by my office during the investigation into the scheme. Our agreement ensures that YP.com will stop using these checks as a way of triggering charges."

The activation checks that were deposited often were processed as routine customer or vendor payments, Nixon says. In addition, checks sent to churches or non-profit organizations often were handled or deposited by volunteers.

Fine print on the back of the check stated that depositing the check in a business account authorized YP Corp. or its subsidiary Telco to either place a charge for Internet advertising on the business' phone bill or make an automatic withdrawal from the business' bank account.

The monthly charges often turned up on phone bills under the listing "YELLOWPAGE INET MTHLYFEE" and typically were for $29.95; the charges often were listed identified as miscellaneous charges from ILD Teleservices Inc. or other third-party entities.

Missouri was the lead state in negotiating the settlement with YP Corp. Under the agreement, YP will send letters to current customers, informing them of their right to cancel their agreements and of their eligibility to receive restitution equal to two months' billing.

Businesses and organizations that paid the YP.com charges can apply for partial restitution online at the Attorney General's Web site, ago.mo.gov or receive an application form by calling the Consumer Protection Hotline at 1-800-392-8222. Of the $2 million to be paid by YP Corp nationwide, $120,000 will be set aside as restitution for Missouri businesses and organizations.

The deadline to apply for possible restitution is Feb. 28, 2007. Nixon is encouraging businesses and organizations to check their records and past phone bills to determine if they were charged a monthly fee by YP.com for Internet advertising they didn't want or knowingly agree to.

Nixon says the Federal Trade Commission reached a settlement with YP Corp. in 2001 that required restitution and some language changes on the check solicitation, but did not stop YP from continuing to use the activation checks as part of its marketing. Today's agreement puts a halt to the practice, he says.

In addition to Missouri, the states reaching settlements with YP Corp. include Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.

I got a call today from this guy and he wanted to verify the business listing we had with them. We don't have our business listed with any one yet we are just getting started so I just kept saying hello and he hung up. I am starting to get the feeling they are spamming the do no call list because I put all our numbers on it and I am getting some really freaky calls.

I work at a small Business as well and have the exact same thing happen to me excecpt it's from several different yellow pages.  I've gotten the "US Yellow Pages" the "Internet Yellow Pages" and so on.  I know these must be scams now as I have gotten at least 20 to 30 calls from these people.  It is always a man or women with an Indian accent.  There is always 2 or 3 seconds of silence before they say hello.  They state theyre with the yellow pages and need to update our information.  I have tried freaking EVERYTHING with these people.  From telling them to stop calling, telling them to take me off their call list, to just hanging up.  Once in the begining I was stupid enough to go through it and we got charged 39.00 on the next phone bill.  Luckily they took the charge off right away.  We dont have caller ID at this business.  I have put our names on the do not call list.  I have had it up to here.  They are driving me absolutely insane!!!!!

Same heavily accented person. Kept asking  me to confirm information that he said was already 'on file' with his company. He is trying to get me to sign up for a "free internet listing" of the business where I am receiving the calls. Very coaxing. Towards the end of the conversation he put me on hold and I happen to know that he then called an automated surveying number that prompts you with questions and then records your answers.

Bottom Line: he wants to 'confirm' your info, sign you up for your 'free' listing, and then charge you $39.99 next month for the listing.

I even asked him at one point," Is responding 'Yes' to any of these questions going to result in me being billed ANY amount of money?" He said no. Later the recording he had me talk to confirmed that he was lying and I hung up on him.
Total jack***.

Heavy accented person calls frequently asking me to update my business information for local yellow pages that would not cost me anything & free internet listing service. I seemed to recall, like a idiot, I did this last year & sure enough they charged me $39.99 on my local telephone company bill. It took me around 6 months to have them take this amount off my bill - which eventually they did. Won't make that mistake again. Also, when I asked this woman what local yellow pages our number is in - she immediately hung up. I have also gotten these calls from males too!! Never again - please do something about these annoying, lying people.
