Keep getting telemarketing texts from 778-93, no phone number shows up, for various schemes from "Actors needed..." to being pre-approved for a credit line. I am suspicious of replying with "STOP" because I don't want to take the chance of confirming my phone number to them and just getting put on another list that will use yet another identification to avoid detection. Some of the texts refer me to go to a website, which, of course, I will not do. I continue to try to find out the root source of these texts in order to appropriately file a complaint against them.

Good idea!
If someone has their real telephone number, please post it here!
Or You can reply to capie4 at juno. please.
When we get it all of us pissed-offed people could call THEM all at the same time, like, February 7th at 7PM and tie up THEIR phone lines until ALL of us in the U.S. get through? That should take, oh, six hours of them receiving calls. Or better yet, call ALL their subscribing companies and piss them off to have them drop 778-93 services. Remember though, you must have a reasong to call them...like, oh, selling that old broken dinner plate, or beat-up washing machine.
They can tell one of us at a time to not call them one time...unless they don't. Then you can go for round two! That'll drop their stock price!
I used to do this when the no call list was not concieved. One fella shouted at me (after the fourth attempt to SELL THEM my different lawn tools), "I AM TRYING TO RUN A BUSINESS HERE!!!!" I replied, "ME TOO! Now, how many tools would you like to purchase?" *CLICK*...so I called him back with a new offer of a different tool! He (and they) got a taste of his own medicine. I did it until he yelled to ''stop calling me!"
No outbound calls for six hours, and perhaps, a call to cover it in the local news! That should cost 'em a pretty penny!

When I decide to reply, what will keep them from adding your number (since it is confirmed as a person's phone) to the list they sell to another blanket-pest texting site?
And, is this their site?

call your phone company and tell them that it was not authorized. Depending on the phone company, there's a good chance they'll just remove the charge.

i keep on getting these. i just logged a complaint on the donotcall.gov website. encourage you all to do the same so action can be taken. p.s. in the phone number field of the complaint screen, i had to enter my area code for the phone number 778-93 to be accepted - so i wrote 312-778-93 and made it clear in the comments section that the calling number just read 778-93.

I replied to stop the calling and it has, worked. My new dilemma is a received my phone bill and was charged 9.99 for the call. Any suggestions on how to get my money back? I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have 6 of these calls on my bill this month. My cell phone company said because they were third party charges I have to go back to each biller and ask for a refund. The probelem is I'm having a difficult time getting a customer service number for some of the scams.

Replying doesn't help. I replied and told them to be prepared to lawyer up the next time they sent and the texts still come. Now I'm going to file a complaint with the F.C.C.

I received numerous spam text massages from 77893. I called AT&T my cell phone carrier several times to try to block 77893 massage. Finally, AT&T told me 77893 massages were sent by b2mobil.com. I went to the wensite. They are " mobile advertising industry". Lets do something to stop this guy.

I contacted Verizon about this and as of 4/19/2010 they supposedly have disconnected these scammers from their network. If YOU HAVE VERIZON AND ARE STILL GETTING THESE please post here. Whatever your service provider, I suggest calling customer support and ask for "Tier 2" support. Tell them about this situation and request that they disconnect this spammer from their network. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, REPLY TO THIS OR ANY OTHER SPAMMER, regardless of whether or not your carrier's support tells you to do so. By doing so, you verify not only that you are a live person, but that you actually took the time to read the message rather than delete it as most people do.
Also, remember that this is illegal whether or not you are in the Do-Not-Call list. File a complaint for each text spam with the FCC at http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm (Click on "Wireless" then the first option on the next page.)
Finally, you can ask your service provide to block SMS spam originating from "short codes" or email. However, 77893 evades these filters somehow. Verizon has not yet provided me with info how.

I called the 800 number provided from a blocked number. As of 2/20 the business is known as:
Auction Agency
3018 North Lamar
Austin, TX 78705
go to http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm?sid=d1e37&id=d1e53, download the form and file a complaint against this organization. It is the only way to stop them from harrassing us. If everyone who gets their text spam did it, the FCC would crack down on them quickly. If you take the stance that it is someone else's responsibility to do so, then you lose.

Go to Open Market's website at http://www.openmarket.com/index.html or call Open Market at 1-888-322-5558 and tell them to stop spamming your cell phone with the 77893 messages because THEY are the ones who are doing it.
Or if you are feeling particularly vicious, you can go to openmarket's twitter site and harass them there. http://twitter.com/openmarket
If you report Open Market to the FCC, you should make sure that you are on the National Do Not Call list, or they may not take your complaint seriously.. I have seen complaints on other sites, though, which say that Open Market is disregarding Do Not Call lists anyway.
