Yo Jeff, Mr. Smart A. , If you know so much, why would I get a flyer on my front door that says "Collection Dept." with this # when I don't do any sort of business with First Horizon?
KKJ 2011-09-08 22:16:27 Unknown
This has happened a couple of times to my home. My daughter has been there by herself and they left the paper and said it was important that I called. Same thing - the want to either have you enter a loan number or SSN. Was not able to get to a real person. It's really disconcerting to have someone show up at your home with a paper to call a lender... Ours said it was from JP Morgan Chase. My mortgage isn't with that company and never was. This has to bee a scam.

Read what the others wrote before asking a question like this. That's how!

dominique 2011-06-30 15:06:45 Unknown
how can I verify that this is first horizon's preforeclosure number without giving my account and ss#?
mstngs 2011-06-29 17:55:07 Unknown
they just left a brown envelope on my door asking me to call with account number doesnt say who it is or anything... Why would I call a number that I dont know.. and dont know what account number they want... and I wont call them.. It says they are expecting my call... Oh the name above it says F/C Dept. Now does that really tell you who it is.... I dont think so...

This number IS First Horizon Homes Loans. It is their Pre-Foreclosure/Foreclosure department.

From 8003647662 - Appears to be phishing for my home loan information.
Asks me for my loan info, then my NINE digit SS#. The Horizon number from their website asks me for the last 4 digits...

This is/was a mortgage company calling looking for their monthly payments. They call every couple days looking for their payment even thought they got it. The problem with this company is, it takes several weeks for them to post your payment... Anotherwords your payment is late no matter when they get it. (extra late fees)
I have been working with them for 14 months to get a "modification" just found out after calling weekly/monthly that the paperwork has to be resubmitted, they couldnt tell me this 10 months ago.
When you call them, and let them know the payment is in, they get rude, they give you fake extensions to call with fake names. You never get the same person twice.

This is NOT First Horizon. They have gone out of business and were bought out by MetLife. The pressing 3 and then 0 trick does not work anymore. This is just a scam to get your SSN. DO NOT enter it.

Multiple calls including weekends, evenings and Holidays. No message left.
joy 2011-06-06 20:57:39 Unknown
Receiving a phone message daily from 1 800-364-7662. The message requests a social security number and/or load number.
Steve 2011-06-06 20:57:39 Unknown
It is truly First Horizon. Call the number, hit 3, then 0 to talk to a live body and request to be taken off the list. Just did it, we'll see what happens.........

I have received two calls from this number in the past thirty minutes on my cell phone. They are not leaving a message. I had calls from this number a few months ago also. I called the number back and the company name was First Horizon.
Lauren 2011-06-06 20:57:39 Unknown

This is not a phishing scam, it is First Horizon Home Loans trying to reach you to talk about your mortgage. The number is displayed very prominently on their webpage: http://www.firsthorizon.com/. Yes, they may call you on a Saturday - - it is perfectly legal for a company to contact you within certain hours on Saturday when they are trying to collect a debt (your mortgage payment). If you do not have a loan with First Horizon (Owned by First Tennessee Bank), then it is very possible your loan was sold to them and your mortgage company may not have informed you yet. Also realize that First Horizon has contracted with MetLife to provide service to customer who obtained mortgages prior to 8/8/2008 - so you may get an automated message to this effect when you call teh 800-364-7662 number. I certainly understand why some folks would not want to give their mortgage number or SSN to an automated service - to talk to a live person all you need do is call: (214) 441-4000 or (800) 707-0139. They are not calling you to market products so being on a Do Not Call list will not stop the calls.

This number DOES go to a legitimate company: First Horizon Home Loan Corporation, which is affiliated with First Tennessee Bank. I hold a mortgage through this company and y'all think you are frustrated with them calling a wrong number, try being a customer and trying to get a live body on a call! Anyway, here are two other numbers you can use to contact First Horizon to find out what you can do to stop the calls if you are not a customer: (214) 441-4000 and (800) 707-0139.

same story... had the message and called back. they keep asking for ss#. i tried to get a person, once i did they transferred me back to the computer prompt.
Betsy 2009-02-19 00:32:01 Unknown
Automated message saying we need to call this number. When the number is called it asks for loan# or ssn#. I didn't give this info and tried for 10 minutes to get a person. No luck. I don't bank with them and all my loans are through my small town bank. I think this is a scam/phishing and want my name off the call list seeing as how I'm on the No Call List.
ashley 2009-01-16 22:00:30 Unknown
Got a message saying it was First Horizon needing my loan number and ssn#. Would never give out that number. Tried to call back and no one ever answered. Seems very sketchy.

I received a note to call "important" at my door late in the morning. The man delivering tried to open the front door then went to my garage door and tried to open it!! My dogs were barking like crazy and he lingered at the front talking on a cell phone. I called my neighbor and asked her to watch from her window as I opened the door and asked him why he was trying to break into my home (don't try this if you're alone). He said he thought "it was empty", so you break into vacant homes I asked. I told him we were alarmed and armed in this neighborhood and that he was being watched as we speak. I called this number planning to complain to someone but recieved the same recycling message to either enter a loan number or 9 digit SS#. I don't know to many who will give out their full SS#'s and especially to a message machine. I'm reporting this as well.

I get this call every other day (still says First Horizon, though they are now owned by and renamed to MetLife).
Called after reading some of these posts and it did indeed ask for my Loan# or SSN. I do have a loan from FH/MetLife, they didn't know anything about these calls or my message.
DT 2008-09-11 18:53:32 Unknown
I had the call and spent the 15 minutes getting through to them to have them remind me that my loan was due the first of the month...it was the 6th of the month. First Horizon is owned by First Tennessee. I do use the float and electronically pay within the grace period every time. "Very important" to me would mean being taken over by the FDIC...but they probably would take the time to call about that.
Jimbo 2008-09-08 23:35:31 Unknown
Don't call its a scam, First Horizon doesn't even exist anymore they were bought out.
bill 2008-09-08 23:25:11 Unknown
I've called this #, it IS horizon. just google the #, its on their contsact us. Without telling him my info, he told me what address my mortage is with them. It was about a late check getting to thrmew in this instance, which was true.
It's good to be paranoid, but not this time, it's legit.

This number called me 2x, tried to call back, again asking for loan number or ss# and otherwise no other way to reach a person. Googled First Horizon and they knew of no such thing. They gave me a number to security and fraud dept at the real First Horizon 901-523-5336- Dont't give you social or any information, this is a scam. I had never heard of them prior nor had a loan of any type.
TK 2008-06-19 21:01:09 Unknown
My phone has rung repeatedly. I'd say every 20 to 30 minutes with the same # coming up on the caller ID 1-800-364-7662. I have let it go to the answering machine & I get no message from the caller they just hang up.
