You've started calling for the money owed on a number of credit cards. Thanks to this wonderful economy, I'm struggling to keep food on the table. Needless to say, I cannot pay you guys a penny. But it has to be said anyway. Oh well, I tried working with my credit card peeps but all they did was jack my rates to the point I could no longer make the minimums.

So now it's survival mode until I get enough cash to file for bankruptcy. At least then the calls will stop. That is unless they turn off the phone first!

these pricks call me 5 times a day even after me telling them I've filed chapter 7. By law they are not allowed to harass people  after being notified of a pending bankruptcy.  THESE PRICKS HAVE A NAME.......

My cell phone says there are "287 missed calls" from this number.  That is how many times they have called my cell phone.  It's been for weeks now.  Never any voice mails.  If I ever do answer, it immediately puts me on hold and tells me that someone will get to me shortly, but I always hang up.  If they need to reach me so badly, they should have a person on the line when I pick up.  Totally insane.  I'm at the point where I might just stay on the line next time so I can yell at the person on the other end and tell them to leave me alone.

I explain to the caller that the person they are trying to reach is not at my number and the RUDE person on the other line hangs up. Someone should explain to them that when they call a wrong number they should say they are sorry then proceed to find the correct number. The last person called me a "f-ing liar" before hanging up. That's why I'm reporting this.

I don't know what this call was about.  Somebody must have given them my phone number, or they dialed the wrong number.  When I asked them what number did they dial, They refused to tell me.  All I wanted to do is help the guy find his mistake; wrong area code, misdialed number, etc.  He refused my assistance.  He destroyed what I was doing at the time.  Let me remind you that studio time is 50 dollars per hour minimum.

They don't leave a message because there is a loop hole in the FDCPA.  As long as they don't make contact with anyone, they can call as much as they want too.  Altough I owe these people because I was stupid and cosigned with someone else, I actually work for a well known collection agency and this is how I know they are allowed to do this.  Your account is put into a dialer and based on a score they have placed on your account (obtained from a credit reporting agency and the score is based upon your ability to repay the loan), the higher your score, the more they will call you.  It's called "churning" accounts.  As long as you don't answer, no contact has been made and they'll continue calling.  Sticking accounts on a dialer with an IVR is the cheapest way to collect money since you don't have to pay a "body" to make the calls...

This is all fine'n'dandy......
But not one of you have given a physical address to mail the cease of communication letter too.
and we all know a PO Box..does not work.

come on.......some one share the address.......so some of us can get our letters sent out, since HSBC....will not share that information!!

My clients have been getting calls from this number. It is HSBC. For those of you who do not think you have HSBC accounts, they are a backer of department store credit cards like Best Buy and several others.

The FDCPA does not mandate 1st party creditors such as HSBC to comply with Cease and Desists.

Call into the system, and get them to remove your name from the autodialer. This may be difficult, we have them switch out company's info with that of our client.

You can also send a Power of Authorization from an attorney that lets them know someone else is handling this situation for you on your behalf.

A Cease and Desist is still good to try, some 1st party creditors will comply with them out of courtesy. Apparently HSBC does not.

If they, indeed, called before 8AM, or after 9PM, get the records from your caller ID.  Report it at www.ftc.gov and then file a complaint at www.fcc.gov.  If you're on the DNC list, It won't stop collectors unless you write to them.  Fax them, if possible, saves money over certified mail.

If you receive an "Automated" voice, it's not longer legal.  Robo-calls were banned as of 9-1-2009.  No, there is no limit as to how many times they can call.  You have to write to them to tell the to stop, certified mail, if they contact you after that, they're in trouble.

As for that person who said "I don't want to change my number..." and the respondant, Don't judge.  You COULD be wrong.  My wife received numerous letters demanding payment for a bill she didn't owe.  The person they wanted is DEAD, and was dead at the time they started hounding.  Thanks to our lawyer, they had to stop.

Been getting several calls from this number too that NEVER identifies themselves or ever leaves any messages. So after filing numerous FTC DNC complaints a suspicious thing started happening with AT&Ts caller id times , instead of showing all different times this number calls it only shows the last call time. Which makes it look like it only calls 1 time a day now, wondering if AT&T is affiliated with these daily unknown harassing calls? Don't have any credit cards with HBSC or whoever this is calling or owe anything.

1-800-365-2027 / 1-800-959-1373 / Out of Area no number shown are all affiliated with this Harassing no company caller id or will identify whose calling, never leaves a message. Been filling every call with the FTC DNC slowed down from 20-30 calls to 8-10 calls still doing the same BS CALLS. Don't have any credit cards, owe anything to any company and just want to know why they keep calling but nobody answers or will identify what their calls are for. Seems like a scheme of some type.
