Sorry, on another note, I looked at this website that these people are sending you all to.   If a website design looks cheap, or simple, I would also call that into question before putting information in there.  This site is poorly disigned and has only ONE page.  There isn't even a "contact us" section.  Just because a site says it's secure, doesn't mean you can trust it.  It can be secure in that only these SCAMERS will see it, but that's just it.  There's still scammers seeing this.

This website is way too simple especially when you compare it to Wells Fargo's actual website.  Do you see how intricate that website is?  Do you see how many different places you can click and different pages you can view?    Just do a quick side-by-side comparison.  The ihaveinsurance website is clearly bogus.  Especially if it's supposed to be part of Wells Fargo.

I know it's a lot to ask, but please for you're own safety, use common sense.  If it seems suspicious, it probably is.

I'm an agent for AMFAM and have recieved several voicemails from  817 786 4907 (which if you look up that number, people are also saying scam), telling me to call 800 368 6805.  That this was Brian from Wells Fargo calling about one of my insured.  First of all "Brian" was really difficult to understand, he left a message at 6 in the morning every morning for 3 days.  I barely made out who he was calling for, and I wasn't sure at first if I had heard the correct number, so I looked up Wells Fargo, and called several different numbers that were listed for them.  Every number that I called said that my insured did not have a loan with them.  So like many others, (the ones who decided this was NOT the place to post PERSONAL information), the screamed SCAM to me.

I even gave this number and the 817 786 4907 number to people I spoke with at Wells Fargo and everyone that I asked, said as far as they knew, those numbers were not connected with Wells Fargo.  Please Please Please do your research before you just willingly give out information to someone who claims to be with your company.

Debt Collector
I received a call from 866-853-6098 and a voicemail saying they were from Dealer Insurance Services of Wells Fargo Motor Credit. Same as the others... call back with insurance information at 800-368-6805. Look up the number they call from and it's reported to be NCO Financial which is a collections company. Check out this article on them http://voices.yahoo.com/nco-financial-systems ... ebt-547230.html. They are ruthless when attempting to collect and will harass the hell out of you. They will try to collect on debt that doesn't exist, too old to legally collect on or was already paid.

Got a letter supposedly from the company we financed the car we recently bought saying they needed to verify the insurance. It has the logo and everything but something just didn't feel right. So glad I looked up the number before going to the website they gave. Now I will call the real loan company and let them know what happened and verify that they don't need any info. The bogus letter said I could give the info by phone 800-368-6805, fax 866 595-1762, or web page www.ihaveinsurance.com. They said that they would purchase insurance for my car at a terrible rate if i did not get back to them asap. Just watch out before you give out personal info and always call the bank or whatever directly from an account statement number or something you know is real to confirm it is them that needs the info before you give it out.

I received the same letter. Bought my new car on a Sunday evening. Of course I wasn't able to add the car onto my insurance as how many insurance companies are open for business on Sundays right?

Next day I call to add new car to my policy. Interesting thing in that I didn't even know who the lien holder ( WELLS FARGO ) was until the payment stub arrived in the mail. Thinking that even though I had already added the new car onto my policy I was golden, I motored happily along until the notice arrived. Of course there was the threat of " purchasing " insurance on their behalf to protect their interest.

I immediately contacted my insurance agent, Miles Archer at Wonderly Insurance to address the issue. Happy motoring again.

One month later I get another letter indicating that WF has purchased insurance ( at an inflated price that would have interest applied as well ) on my behalf as they have not yet received proof of insurance on my part and my car payments would now be adjusted to reflect this.

I made a personal visit to Wonderly Insurance this time and showed them both letters. The CS agent, Joel Cairo, showed me in the system when I added the vehicle and the date that WF was added as the " loss payee."

Another letter was sent off to WF and I asked Mr. Cairo to call the number provided. He declined.
Mr. Cairo did state that it is illegal to apply/purchase insurance if an individual already has coverage. They cannot make you pay extra even if they continue to say they have not received adequate information. As long as it states who the " loss payee " is they can't make you pay for their overpriced coverage.

I hope Mr. Cairo is right. I would be loathe to call insurance commissioner Brigid O'Shaughnessy to receiew this matter.

Yeah, I went to the site (ihaveinsurance) and it didn't even accept my policy number for state farm or the expiration date of the insurance.  As Nelson said, they threatened to buy insurance for the car at $928 a year, but charge me $124 a month for this insurance.  Now my math isn't great but I know when you use the smallest iota of brain power - 12 months at $100 exceeds $928.  Anywho, just contact your agent and have them handle it, don't waste your time.

The information you gave is for WFS: Wachovia Financial Services, and that is there correct P.O. Box.

What I don't understand is why people keep responding to this with information that has nothing to do with the question.

I received a letter saying that my insurance agent, Greg Ochipa, 910-395-5252 did not put "Loss Payee" or "Lienholder" on my notification of insurance to you.  I called them when I recieved this letter the first time 3 weeks ago, and they faxed it to you using the appropriate language--although Wells fargo IS listed as the "loan holder" on the policvy.  Now I have received an identical letter. I tried to send this ninformation on your website, but the form kept telling me to enter my agent's name and phone number---WHICH I HAD! Would you please correct this information in your record, and fix your website page so that it recognizes entered information.
Thank you.

I'm aware that a lot of people don't realize how easy it is to steal your information these days. By posting your information on any site on the web, you are making it even easier for someone to take you for all you have. You should never post personal information of ANY TYPE!!! I can't stress that enough.
Contact your lender through the number you have for them on your monthly statements, not the one on the letter you received stating that your vehicle is not insured.
I have also received a letter from Wells Fargo stating that my insurance coverage was canceled in November, but I know for a fact that it's incorrect. I checked my insurance and called the Wells Fargo number on my statement and all is well. The letter is a scam!
