800-380-0578 is sending out scam faxes. It's a fraudulent newspaper clipping about some insurance savings. Nowhere on this junk fax is there any company name, just a 800 number. Reporting the illegal fax to the FCC.gov website.

Apparently this guy is still up to his tricks. We received the same fax others posted.
Funny how the FCC can file a complaint, yet evidently do nothing to back it up.

Found the culprit. Seems the FCC has a file on him and his illegal activities and even have a file on the web that anyone can access: Slingshot Technologies Corp., Attn: Adam Pasternack, President, 2400 Market Street, Suite 423, Philadelphia, PA 19103-3038 / http://transition.fcc.gov/eb/Orders/2008/DOC-303342A1.html

800-380-0578 - Just received a Spam Fax fake newspaper clipping stating "Thought you'd find this interesting. - J" I'm so tired of these SOB's sending out illegal faxes. Why can't the FCC actually do something to stop them? It's a fake newspaper clipping for a scam insurance company. Do NOT give these people ANY personal information. Reporting them directly to the FCC.

They are still at it. I received the same fax today. If you've received this fax, please go to http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm?sid=&id=d1e26 and file a complaint with the FCC. I used the online form, which is very fast and easy.
Thanks,
Razorback

Upon receipt from a co-worker, I read a faxed newspaper article that lacked detail. I work in the insurance industry and this is a scam. It's a cheap way for the unknown company to advertise. This advertisement is from a fake news clipping and illustrates a very negative image for our industry, while at the same time, tries to SELL. Not sure if they are narcissistic or just plain dumb. Underhanded indeed!
Go on ... call that number and give a complete stranger your SS# and other information so they can run a free report through an unknown agency.

Received this fax this morning. No company name but an article inviting you to call a toll free number to get recorded info on life insurance. Another scam...

Received a fax from an unknown sender. It was an obviously fake newspaper "clipping" with a handwritten note at the top "Thought you'd find this interesting." As if someone we knew sent it for us to read. It is something about insurance prices. At the end it says you can call 1-800-380-0578 to listen to a free automated recording! Oh boy! Anyway, it doesn't give any indication as to what the company is that is sending these flyers, and they don't give a "do not call" or "do not fax" number. I'd rather not call the recorded message to find out, since that might put me on the opt-in list. Anybody know who this is?

This silly fax annoyed me since it created a 100% unecessary email exchange between myself and my home/managing office with me initially emailing a person who always faxes me LEGIT work things; me telling them thanks for the info./ (I still thought it was a bit odd as this person never sends me personal things via fax).......them emailing me back,"what are you talking about?"...me another email...now me looking this up thankfully I finally had a light-bulb go off in my exhausted head that said, "look-up that 800#, it's probably a junk-fax". And SURE ENOUGH...........
Thanks for wasting my already non-existent time and energy loser junk-fax scam insurance company.......................

I agree with unknown fax. I got the EXACT same thing; however I didn't call the 800# and I felt like if they were legit they would have sent contact info instead of this crap and hide behind your fax#. I am sure they are looking for one or two suckers and they have made their money for that day!
