SCAM!!!!!

the son downloaded porn and he paid the bill but they claim they never got the money

You don't need a lawyer....yet.......It's just an attempt to extort money out of you.....

i got papers and a call from this copyright troll case.  they want me to just fork over payment information without a stated final amount. i said i wouldn't give them any information over the phone. the woman who called said she'd see me in court. now i have to get an attorney to protect myslef.

If you are being contacted by this law firm, and they are a legitimate firm in Chicago, You were likely involved in receiving or accessing copyrighted information on the internet, usually porn, but this could be any pirated media. That notice you see on internet searches explaining why certain results are missing, that's the same firm.

i also have been contact by them i got the papers and i just call them they are asking me for $2100.

This call is from a copyright troll law firm. They are trying to get you to call them back by telling you that you will be served with a subpoena in a copyright case, usually involving a porn movie.You may have already gotten papers saying that you were included in a copyright case, something similar to Lightspeed Media vs. John Doe 1-5000 (this is just an example). They want you to settle the case by paying them approximately 3000 to 4000 dollars. Do not call them back!!! Research this scam at fightcopyrighttrolls.com or dietrolldie.com before you take any action. Think about it. What reputable law firm calls you from an unavailable number? If you talk to them, they will try to get you to implicate yourself or someone else so they can use this information against you. They don't care whether you have done something wrong or not. They are just trying to extort money from you. Research this! DO NOT CALL THEM BACK until you have done your research.
