This number calls 3-5 times per day to my home phone.  They always hang up on the machine.

Call came in at 10:10am PST.  Let answering machine pick it up but they didn't leave a message.

They've called 48 times in the last few months. I don't answer, and they don't leave a message.

This is Chase Bank.  You can call back, hit 5 and be removed.

Chase is quite annoying.  They're pesky and persistent.  They hire people who can barely speak English.  They are rude and then hang up abruptly.  Thank's CNR.  I called them back, hit 1 for English then 5 and was transferred.  After punching in my phone number I was told I would be taken off their telemarketer list and that it would take 30 days to take effect. I actually thought it was a phishing scam.  What credit card company would hire a bunch of foreigners to do their business?  Everything is being outsourced in this country.  With all the unemployment, why can't they hire someone in this country?

strange calls seeminly from illinois

I get calls from 800-383-5083 and the voice on the other end seems to be sound bites from movie clips! The first one was Arnold Schwarzenegger with bits from Kindergarten Cop and Terminator and the most recent one was left on my machine sounded like Joe Pesci from Good Fellas'!  What a strange and stupid age we live in where people have nothing better to do than mess with other people ... oh and the calls either come at 7am or 8:55pm ... If the person making these calls happens to be reading these posts why don't you do us all a favor and p!ss off!

They usually call and then no answer but I have received the call before and couldn't understand the person. I think it is from Chase I hang up on everyone I can't understand especially foreign.

Got a call from them yesterday.  Obviously from an overseas call center.  Trying to sell me some kind of credit monitoring from Chase (through which I do have a mastercard).  I said no thanks, but the call seemed harmless enough.

IF some one calls you It should be for a reason. I pay phone bills to have a phone to use to call friends and family.(personal use) I don't pay to have some one call and won't talk to me and doesn't leave a message. It's too bad that in this day and time unwanted phone calls can't be controled. It's my money if they would like to kick in and pay my bill then they can use my line. To me it's the same as me buying a car and someone else uses it.
There are so many scams out there that each day is a battle to live free from people trying to scam people. We should be able to get there number and call them when we are bored.

Had these a few months ago, they would call 3-4 times a day, then they stopped.....for a short period of time - now I'm getting them again a few times a week.  It's time to turn the tables on these fine upstanding individuals!

I think the number is calling us to verify when we are around. If you answer, the computer locks a note when you are available, that's why there is silence and it hangs up after you've said "hello?". The next call will be from a real person. If you have a number they will find it. They suck and simply refuse to give up calling even if you register Do Not Call. "Please allow 30 days for..." that's just b***s***. They need every number they can get, especially if you've ever had a credit card by them.
So, I do hope I catch the call this time. I plan to get as discreetly frustrated with them so they back off from calling. Like I plan to ask the caller personal questions so they feel upset and they hang up on me.
"So have you ever watched anyone die before?"
"Do you sleep with windows open or closed?"
"How much money do you make a year at your job?"
"Do you have a Chase credit card?"
"Your number isn't registered with Chase, can you explain why?"
"Can you walk and chew gum at the same time?"

Call received early on a Saturday morning. No message left.
