Also got a call from these people.  Several times, no messages left, once when I answered they asked for my son (with a pre-recorded message)  Got another call today from a Kevin McCoy (probably not his real name) saying they have a business matter to discuss with my son, he needs to call back today!!  Sounded like a telemarketer.  That call was from a VoiP call 210-807-3131 but they left this 800 number and said their name was ERC.  So, not sure if it is a scam, or someone has stolen my son's identity.  He doesn't have ANY debt to collect on.

They have called me on my cell phone, my home phone, and even my parents home asking for my husbands ex wife!  They have Been divorced 24 years.  We have been married 22 years . They say she gave our number as a reference but I have never met her and there's NO way she knows my cell number and my parents number! The woman is rude! She tells me not to be rude but she calls me on my cell insisting she was given this number which is lie and I tell her to remove it! The person who talked to my dad keep saying maybe he had forgotten a distant relative but since she no longer has my husbands let name my dad didn't even know who she was.  They are rude and liars and I'm not sure how they got my information but I would love to make a formal complaint!!!

this terrorist 800-383-5558 calls me more than 30 times within day, All call log from my phone account (time, date...etc) is going forward to FCC and police for further investigating.

I got call from this number hundreds time. Average 4 times a day. If you pick up, no information , only noise, bu left message and asked you put PIN number on it. I realized so called collected company is a fishing. They do not know your name and address. Be alart! We do not have cybersecurity law to handle this business. FCC does not do any action for it, although it is their job.

Contiued calls from these people with no message.  How can this be stopped?

I just received a call on my cellphone from this number and when I answered I heard what sounded like a camera taking a picture, then the line went dead.

just so you know ERC has an A with the BBB (because they follow the laws)

my suggestion to you would be to call the number that is calling you (more than likely they know or think you know Ronald) tell them you will get the person a message but in return take your number off the account....i know you shouldn't have to bargain with us but some collectors are not very nice unless you do something for them....really they just want to collect the debt.

if you don't let them know they have the wrong number they will keep calling....

same advice goes for you....call the number that is calling you and let them know they have the wrong number....whether or not you believe me, we don't want to call the wrong people because that means we don't do our job and collect the debt....if you understand what i'm saying

just a word of advice call the number that is calling you and tell them that they have the wrong number...we don't know we are calling the wrong people unless you tell us....the consumers we are trying to contact actually put the numbers we call down on whatever it is they are getting...we don't pull numbers out of a hat to call i promise.

I'm a third party not even related in any way to the person (Humberto) they're after. I got a new cell # last week that used to belong to that guy. If collectors are calling your phone in error, tell them to stop calling and take you off their call list. You can sue any firm that continues to call you after you notify them you aren't the consumer and to remove you from their call list. So make sure to log the date & time of all calls. I think the fine is $1000. per call after a certain amount of time to process your number out of their system. Hopefully I'll be out off their call list soon, but I'm still getting calls from other entities.... one by one I'll shut 'em down to save my cell minutes. I've been adding the phone numbers to my cell contact list as Collection Call 4 Humberto, then the real company name & the date/time I asked to be taken off the call list under "Last Name." That initial date & time is important since the clock starts ticking at that point. It also helps you to ignore the number when it rings since you know you've already spoken to them. Don't you think you should blame the real person who is responsible for the mess in the US?  Here's a hint: It is NOT Obama....he's NOT the one who got the country into 2 wars (one of which was totally unnecessary) and he's certainly not the one who gave tax breaks to BIG business while making "small person America" pay to make up difference.  Obama is only guilty of NOT scrapping those tax breaks while he had a majority in the Senate and in Congress.....shame on him for not doing so BUT shame on YOU for not knowing how your country really started spiraling down into a free-fall.

And by the way, I did get a call from this number ON MY FREAKING CELL PHONE so I just hung up on them; don't owe any money to anyone and my credit is great!

sick of these people calling for brian lee.............FU lee.  you have given my number out for 3 yrs.  yep, i have had this number  for 3 years and get calls for you from every bill collector around.  thank god for answering machines.  don't talk to these people at all, they are stupid.  if you do answer tell them you are tracing the call and do *57 after you hang up and then call the authorities.  I have blocked all their numbers, but they have a million.  that number is a facade anyway on the caller ID.  we don't know the real number unless traced. I like the idea of forwarding their calls to a government agency - how about the FCC who regulates the DNC?   Maybe if they got all these annoying calls they'd do something about them!

Same story as some of you, they leave a message looking for someone I don't even know performing a collection call of some sort.  I need to look at how to block this number...although they tend to change the number as to how it appears on the caller ID, don't know how they get away with this - ugh!   But thank goodness for caler id, if I don't recognize the number I don't answer...amazing how many of these calls happen now that I'm home (I'm a new stay-at-home mom).

Well, I guess ERC has ap least 5th grade reading requirements for their employees. Since my post regarding them earlier on this page! I have apparently now been put on their dail early AM call schedule.

LOL, little do they know where their calls have been  forwarded to! BTW, if you do forward your calls to a government or law enforcement agency, make sure it is to a NON-EMERGENCY number. Get creative but be smart about it. And do NOT call ERC back asking them to stop calling, because they know. The reality is, unless they tick off someone high up in government, they are infinetly more likely to gain some pittance of a collectiol right or wrong (deception of the elderly), versus any arm of the DNC registry putting a stop to them = 'most posterior orifices'.  Posterior means behind, orifice is a hole. Now put the 2 together and it really seems to describe ERC and their tactics.  ERC anti-fan club member. ;0)

I just got my clockwork every 10th day call (1-2) @ 1618 est since Jan 6, 2010 when I got this phone. They were one of the first to 'welcome' me.

They have a very long history of illegal tactics, so the cutesy responses of calling them back, etc..Do Not Work. Neither will the inane ponderings, " but my phone is registered with DNC, so why do they keep calling?". Duh (sorry, same ole story).  Because DNC only works with companys that play by the rules.

ERC does NOT care about rules or laws. They also know enough about the law and its weaknesses, as in not much of a bite (guess Feds don't floss, or maybe gon gives them a poor dental plan, or maybe they exist mainly in name to appease the populous). There is no logical way the DNC feds don't know who's behind ERC, where Directors live, how much and WHERE are all their assests, and have not gone after them.  So much for elected leadership being for the 'people'.  In most areas of the US these days, it seems like money talks and everyone else walks.

I will have to check the link in an earlier post about what can be done to stop these bottom dwellers.  Who knows, it might work, unfortunately most don't.

Call the number back.  They have an auto attendant that says you can remove your number from their system.  Enter your number and see if that takes care of the problem.

I only keep my cellphone on when I am traveling and for emergency use only.  Because everytime I turn it on I have several phone calls from this number a day.  They leave a the number requesting a callback and leave  a file number to refer to.  This has been going on for two years.  I see the number and just erase them all.  I know its not for me since I have no outstanding debts that are delinquent.  I would think they would give up by this time.  Stupid and a big waste of their time.  These calls only come in on my Cell.  Everyone number that I am interested in talking to is recorded in my Cell and those are the only ones I answer or call back.  What a PEST the jerks are.

No messages are left on our answering machine.  If a "live" person answers, the caller asks to speak to one and the same family member, who hasn't lived here in years, and we tell them that again and again.  But they keep trying.

I keep getting calls from this number for someone I don't know.  I have told them my name is not the one you are looking for and to stop calling but they just keep calling.  I now just hit IGNORE and the call stops.....but not forever.

This has nothing to do with me - and I am getting repeated calls.

STOP!
