Calls from this number constantly. Never banked with B of A and my home was paid for in cash, no credit card debt as I keep a zero balance and no car payments. The number of calls from this number is starting to feel like a Home Invasion.

I agree.  I called BOA, and they say they will never call and ask a customer for their social because they already have their customers social security on file.  BOA also said, they don't ask for pin numbers and personal information over the phone.  BOA also said this is a scam.  They will contact you in writing first.  If you are late on a bill, they will contact you by mail or send an alert message on your account.

I've received the call repeatly from 800-388-1986 and they will not leave a message.  They always call me on my work number.  I do not have any outstanding debts with Bank of America.  My accounts/bills with BOA are current and up to date.  They are lying about an outstanding debt. I do not have anything past due on my accounts.

These people have called here as early as 8:00am and as late as 9:00pm repeatedly. The one time I (by mistake) did answer, the person calling asked for the last four digits of my social security number.  I told him that I don't give out that information over the phone and what was the purpose of his call. He said he COULDN'T tell me anything unless I gave him the last four digits to verify my identity. To which I said: "end of conversation - please don't call again", and hung up. Since our phone system has a call-blocker feature I entered their number and presto - no more calls. The feature also records blocked calls and in checking it, I see they still continue to call. I agree with GrouchyOldMan that this qualifies as harrassment........

They may be BOFA , but I don't recognize the number. And, when I picked up (twice) there was no one there.. Andthey never left a message. They called today at 9:01 PM, 1:03 PM, 2:24 PM, 6:37 PM and 7:46 PM. I think this qualifies as harrassment. If they need to talk to me, a person should call and make contact. And when they call, the polite thing would be to leave a message. What a novel idea, right?!

Scammers posing as BofA, sounds like BofA - Called # on my BofA statement and went to my local BofA. Don't give them any info. BofA won't ask for last 4 of social or account # over phone. They keep calling at all hours. Played really loud noise into the phone - let's see if that helps......... They use a variety of numbers but this one has been most frequent.

They are jerks and call for my husband during his work hours despite me telling them about 50 times that he's at work during the times they call. They won't stop, so now I just screw with them and see how long I can keep them on the line waiting for him to come to the phone. The goal is to waste as much of their time as possible. My record is 7.5 minutes... But I'll beat it. :)

I beleive this was Bank Of America. They asked me for the last 4 digits on my ssn and I refused saying I did not know them from Adam. They said it was about my mortgage and wanted me to verify the address. I have 2 mortgages so I asked them which one they were after. I gave them the address after she gave me the street number. Then I gave the last 4 of my ssn. They did not ask for any other personal info. I was paying my mortgage a week late but before the "grace period". I asked why they would be calling and they said the payment is due on the first and collections can start right after that. They don't access a late fee until after the 15th and they report to the creditor after the payment is 30 days late. She was insistent on when I would make a payment. I already had one in the pipeline so it was all good. Then she asked me to update my financial info...where am I working, contact numbers, salary, etc.  I said I didn't have time to do that and she said we should update our financial data every 90 days. Really? Makes me think that BofA is looking for loans they can force into foreclosure, or reassessing loans they have in the field to see if anyone is in trouble. I think they are legit. There was nothing I told her that she could use and she didn't press when I didn't give the personal info. If she WAS a scam operator, she was good but ineffective.

You sound like a shill for these creeps.  Unlike your supposed situation I am current on my mortgage and I've NEVER been late.  So they have no reason to call me.  Second problem is they asked me for information that they should have had at their fingertips if they were legit.  Third, the woman refused to give her name!   I suggest you and your fellow scam artists go get real jobs.

So many people have BoA accounts, the odds that random calling will get a BoA customer are pretty good.

I suspect a scammer here.  Caller claimed they were from B of A. and asked to confirm my mailing address. I've no problem with that as anyone can get it from public property tax records.  But then the wanted my Social!  Not going to happen. She next wanted my mortgage account number!  Not gonna happen either.  If it really was B of A she would have already had those and should have read them to me for confirmation.  Crimminals are getting really bold lately.  But thankfully they are still incredibly stupid.

I suggest everybody call Band of America directly and report these calls.  I did and Bank of America says they have an organization that will investigate to try and get it stopped.

These people are relentless!!!  According to our caller ID they have called us nine (9) times over the past two days (even though we had already scheduled our payment) and as late as 9:45pm at night (waking us up).  If anyone has a contact at BOA we'd sure like to have it.......... Someone needs to put a stop this type of practice.

I am so sick of them calling and not leaving a message. I called back an it's Bank of America, debt ollection. My mortgage is current, he was asking a lot of personal info without telling me why they were calling so I finally Hun up. So annoying, will change my number if they keep calling. I asked why they don't leave a voicemail so I will know why they're calling, he said they're not allowed to. Why?

Have had numerous missed calls from this number, finally answered to see who it was, they were calling for someone that doesn't live nor ever has at our home, for a past due mortgage. I told them who I was and that we've only had this number for 3 months. They very politely removed our number and apologized for any inconvenience. Now if the bozo that used to have this number will pay their bill or see about helpful options, I wouldn't of gotten called.

I receive multiple calls from this number. I do not have an account with Bank of America will never get one in the future either. Since the message is a recording I am unable to speak to someone to let them know to stop calling. I called the number back which is also automated and since I don't have an account with them and refuse to give my social security number up they ended the call.

Well, I answered it IS BOA and there was a glitch with my mortgage payment posting and that's why they called. This WAS BOA..they were able to verify themselves and they corrected the issue I was having. So at least as of this date it is a legitimate BOA number.
