You don't owe the caller a life story, but a ''cease communication'' notice, sent via USPS Certified with return card, is not a bad idea. This exposes the caller to a possible lawsuit from you if your "shut up" is ignored.

how do you block their number?  they are calling me every day, trying to reach someonelse and they will not stop caling me until I send them a letter with personal information that I am not willing to send them.  It is so annoying, I work from home I often spend time in meeting and every morning between 9:00am and 11:00am I can be sure the phone will ring.

this is an automatic voice recording calling me every day, sometime twice a day askign for a Gonzales something.  I have been hanging up but after after a month I finally decided to talk to someone to let them know it was a wrong number and asked them to stop calling me.  They won't, they are askign me to send a letter with my name, my address....THIS IS A JOKE!!!  why do they want all of this personal infomation and why do I need to take the time to writte a letter, to writte their address, to send my personal information, put a stamp on an enveloppe...just so they can stop calling me!!!!

Eric from Chase Auto Finance left message on my answering machine for a person I have never heard of.
Called them back to complain and for them to take my Phone # off their calling/collection list, which they said they would.

Well... we will see. If they keep on calling, I will simply block their number.

I am receiving calls on my cell phone from the number above hourly.  Starting as early as
7:00am and not stopping until 9:00pm any day of the week.

I see the message from other people that it is a scam pretending to be Citibank.  I do not have any
accounts or credit cards with Citibank.  6 years ago when living in NYC I did have a checking account
with Citibank, but this was closed 6 years ago.

same guy keeps calling i told him my name was michael...i told him i know he isn't a real Chase branch ...i tell him there is no REAL  "chase auto finance" he keeps bein rude about it every time. and plus he is calling my cell asking for my dad..i think that even proves its a big fake... some people from a bank once came to my house saying to my parents they were Banco de America as in Bank of America trying to get info but the local bank said they would never ask for information over the phone, they would tell you to go to the actual bank. I think they're putting fake names on here saying they are a legitimate number but they are probably all trying to get u in their scam

same foreign sounding guy calling here for days saying he's calling from chase auto demanding to speak to husband,(who is at work when he calls) .  i demand to know what he's calling about.  he says-'personal'.  FINALLY, today i got him to tell me the # he is calling from and he gave 800 388 4223.
we have never financed an auto thru chase auto or chase cr card.  i called our chase cr card customer service and they have no idea why they would call.  have now taken our accts off their solicitation listings.  called chase auto at 866 401 9740 and rep ran our phone# thru their system and stated that our ph# does not come up in their system so it was not them that called.  will now report this to attorney gen and demand these people get fined since there is no reason they should be harrassing me with repetative phone calls that are evidently scams.

If this isn’t a scam then Chase is really acting “stupidly”.  What legitimate organization would ask for someone’s Social Security.

When calling the number I did get to a person and she had no idea why Chase’s automated computer would be calling me when I didn’t have an account with them. She sent me over to Customer Service, but that system wouldn’t connect me to a representative because they said it was off business hours, which it wasn’t.  I found another number 800-336-6675 for their Customer Service and they stated that the 800-388-4223 is their collection department, but in my case, I’m to just disregard the call.

They are legit.  The issue with me was that before I bought my house, someone used the address for a lot of bad debt.  This agency did a simple search and found my phone # and called looking for the deadbeat.

Not sure how they get your # or info about your affiliation w/ Chase, but here's their scam:

Step 1: They call you from an unknown number. If you're like me, you don't answer.
Step 2: Using a recording, they leave a confusing voicemail that says they're urgently trying to reach someone about a reference. You won't recognize the name of the person they're trying to reach, but you'll probably call back, since you have a conscience.
Step 3: When you call, their system sounds somewhat legitimate. But there's no way to reach the person that supposedly left you a voicemail. As soon as an "operator" gets on the line, they start demanding your social security number, your account number, your date of birth, etc.

Tell them to STFU and get a real job. They're scammers.

I have verified with CHASE AUTO that this number is a legitimate CHASE number.  It is not id thieves or a scam as previously noted by someone else on this site.  Gave me good scare though.  They are with their collections department if you do get behind on your payment they will call you for payment arrangements.

These people continue to call for someone who doesn't live at my house. They have absolutely no reason to be calling my house, as I have never done business with them. And I will not EVER give them my social security number, date of birth, or "supposed" account number. Since that's the first words out of the receptionist's mouth, you have no way of being removed from their list.

And TRM, if you have supposedly verified that, then why don't you kindly give us their number too so we can remove our number from their calling list?  Are you sure you aren't working for this company????

That is just what they do to me.  They keep calling from an unavailable number and when they finally get me, they keep asking me to verify the same information that i verified just a week or two ago with them. In their defense i do have an auto loan with them and my payment is ususally late, but i dont get why they keep calling and asking me the same questions over and over.  its like "wasnt it saved from the last time we spoke?"

I think these guys are a scam. Got 2 threatening voicemails from a woman at "Chase Auto Finance," said to call 800-388-4223 or she will "take immediate action."  She also said it was "inexcusable behavior" for me to ignore her calls. I've never had a loan with them.  After this, I was paranoid someone hacked my info so I pulled a credit report and Chase Auto Finance is not listed.

Everytime I call, the automated system asks for my account number (which is nonexistent) or a social security number.  They think I'm a moron? I'm then placed on hold for the "next available rep" and after 30 minutes no one picks up. I've called at a few times and each time, I've wasted 30 minutes of my day.

There are different phone numbers listed on the Chase website. I called them all and keep getting the runaround. Talk about bad customer service. I even went to the local Chase bank, and the rep there was equally as rude and said he couldn't help me.  He said they will never ask for a social security over the phone.

I've reported this to the Chase fraud department.

They keep calling my cell phone number and asking for someone who I don't know.  I tell them they have the wrong number and stop calling but they continue to call and every time they call, it costs me money.  I tried to speak to a supervisor but to no avail.  When I tried to fix this, I was either hung up on or transfered to a continuous automated system where no one was actually available to talk to.

Steven the liar tried to say he was trying to reach me for a reference for my ex, yet the tons of messages on my answering machine clearly say "Chase Auto Finance".  I have no debts with this company & my ex has never lived at this address or had this number.  I threatened them with legal action if they call me again.  They are calling daily & even going to far as to ask in the VM if I was able to contact my ex to get him the message!  Not my job buddy!!
