This company is NOT Experian.  I called and was lead to believe that I was speaking with an Experian representative. I spoke at length regarding medical bills. "Casey" advised me to NOT pay any outstanding medical bills.  They will make all of my bills "go away" and I will have a perfect credit score.  After extremely fear based, high pressure sales tactics I decided to look into the company before using their product.  I found sites like this and realized that I had called an old Experian number.  Apparently they are not happy when you don't buy their product.  I got the following text to my cell phone that night, "Janet, I'm glad you're dying of cancer.  Go get some more chemotherapy.  I hope it doesn't work.  Get a life you miserable c***.".  This was sent from "Casey" whose direct number is 863-215-8217.

1-800-397-3742 is definitely a scam and is strongcredit.com (aka Fair Credit Bureau). They are very careful not to let you know they are not Experian. They sell you a lifetime package that you think you are buying from Experian to be able to have access to your credit report anytime for the rest of you life. All you get in the packet is order forms to order you credit scores through the mail and pay for them each time. All the info you get from them can be found online for free.

We called the Experian headquarters and asked them about this 1-800 number and they said they knew a company called Strong Credit is using it but Experian is in no way affiliated with them. When calling Strong Credit asking for a refund because the product is not as described we where confronted by a very angry Supervisor who was very condescending, rude and had a huge ego problem. He basically said too bad there's no way your getting a refund.

Avoid this fake company at all cost, they are NOT connected to Experian. If you got scammed by them contact your credit card company report the scam and cancel your card and get a new number. Then contact the Attorney General, BBB, and Fair Trade Commission and file complaints.

I thought I was calling Experian and got this company on the line. I was trying to resolve a credit issue and the woman made no sense over the phone and kept going on about how I had to pay $300 for something to fix it. She managed to dupe us into giving ssn, credit card details etc. We thought it sounded very odd and now realise it was a scam. Surprised that there aren't more details on this on the internet. Did anything worse come out of this? We are really worried about identity theft now.

I called this number thinking it was Experian, but got someone claiming it is a company called "A Fair Credit Bureau Co.". They duped me into giving my SS before I caught on that something was wrong.
