Received call from this number, 800-401-1691. Did not answer as I did not get an identifiable name on my caller ID. Looked it up and found this forum as well as others that said the same as all are saying, SCAM!!!

I AM CALLED BY THIS NUMBER SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. I WONT ANSWER, AND A MESSAGE IS NEVER LEFT. I CAN SEE BY MY CALLER ID THAT IT CALLS AT LEAST ONCE A DAY WHILE I'M AT WORK, AND EVERY NIGHT AT LEAST ONE CALL AFTER I GET HOME. JUST CALLED AGAIN AND IT'S 3PM ON SATURDAY. GEEZE.......

Called (03/24/04)and said that I would get cinamax free for 90 days and it isn't happened yet.What is this,a scam or what?

Direct TV does not call from unidentified numbers. This number showed UNKNOWN. Later I called it back from my cell phone and no answer. That is not how Direct TV operates. Don't answer this number just in case it is a spoofed call.

Caller scam. This is definitely not Direct TV. Called Direct TV, as I have that one, and was told caller id would say "Direct TV" - not listed as unknown. Was told they do not call their customers without proper identification. Checked their data base for the number and it did not show up connected to them in any way.

This is a scam! They claim to be Direct TV wanting to give you free premium movie channels. When she started asking me questions about my account (which she should have that info if she really worked for Direct TV), I hung up. I called the Direct TV Customer Service line and they told me this was definitely not one of their people. Do not give any personal info to them!!!
