Maybe if this Freedom was made to pay our phone bills the rest of our life they would stop the calling, I have been getting these calls for two years. I first told them to stop calling, which they ignored, it has got so bad I had to turn off the ringer, my next step is to drop my land line.

I don't know why tFreedom is calling me, I am in another Optimum advantage plan I am now unhappy with. I am 73, very well, but told I have to take 'well women' mymashers and other radioactive tests or plan to find no doctor to get a participating physician to keep my medicare. I have old AARP infomation 2012 and new studies saying well people, with no problem no meds, no smoking right weight should not take some of the tests.I have signed off they are not responsible for my not takiing them I also have new studie published by Research Doctors that say well people taking these tests are taking un-necessary and dangerous tests that may prove harmful. Mostly, I was trying to tell 'Doctor' that it is my body and I should be able to decide what is done to it. I was told to get another doctor when I dared ask for a Shingles Vaccination after researching on web: Some complications can be really bad. Doc lookd like he would like to shout and said go get another doctor. You can go to Walgreens and get the shot but I will not treat any complications. A new war between Walgreens and MD's? heck with your kids doctors. I don't know what I will find in six months when I get my Medicare Card back...I hope Ican at least go to emergency room if hit by a truck....Keep your Medicare Card! I don't qualify for Clinics, my and my deceased husband's joint taxes paid for Medicare, I may not be able to get it around everything I don't believe in at 73. My Vote would be for NATIONAL MEDICINE....to bad it is not on the ballot. I don't answer phones from Advantage healthcare companies any more.

Joe's post concerned me greatly so I looked into it. Joe provided little info to work with and I had to make some assumptions. Joe's "your advantage program...is now FORBIDDEN...and your "premium"...will catch YOU in the pension shorts" suggests the health reform law of 2010 will terminate some Medicare "advantage program" which will force retirees into other plans and drive up their insurance premiums. Googling "medicare advantage program forbidden" returned the Kaiser Family Foundation's Medicare Advantage Fact Sheet http://www.kff.org/medicare/upload/2052-14.pdf which lists 4 types of Medicare Advantage Plan Types plus a fifth group of "other types of private plans" that can be offered under the new rules on page 1. On page 2, the why is explained: "The health reform law of 2010 makes a number of additional changes to the Medicare Advantage program, driven largely by concerns about the payment system and its effect on Medicare spending. These changes are projected to reduce Medicare spending by $136 billion over 10 years. They also may reduce the plans? profitability and the extent to which supplemental benefits are offered." Joe's "your advantage program...is now FORBIDDEN" is simply false but he is correct in surmising retiree premiums will probably go up - health care costs have been rising at higher-than-inflation rates for many years and show no sign of slowing regardless of which party is in the White House or controls Congress. Incidentally, my non-Medicare retiree medical premium is going *down* in 2011 from ~$200/month to ~$130/month because my retirement plan will now require a low premium from Medicare retirees (previously no premium) as a fairness issue so I've that to look forward to in the future. My total premium cost over my lifetime has likely increased; no free lunch.

Can you do us all a favor and explain *why* has it been allegedly forbidden?

Joe is obviously a member of the Me Party. President Obama and I are members of the We Party. Thank you

expect to keep getting them thanks to OBAMACARE who has virtually cut all these companies off at the short hairs--your advantage program the Freedom Company offers is now FORBIDDEN by Obamacare and your "premium" to/from this company will catch YOU in the pension shorts---it's ALL BAD NEWS and they are trying to cover their legal arse~!
