So I got a call from Florida Bahamas which is the same place as this apparently (always finding new scams) and after I gave them my security code I realized how stupid Iwas and told him no and I didn't go through to the second person for verification. I called my bank and told them to cancel the credit card but a transaction had a already gone through.

The Chase Bank was useless as s*** and the people at Bahamas told me that since I didn't verify I will get my money back in 5 business days.

I need to know if I will in fact get a return since I told them I do not want it over and over and I do not authorize this charge, or if I'm screwed and I have to take the next step and contact BBB.

Thanks for your honesty.  For those who check out these companies before calling, it will save a lot of heartache.  My wife and I received our "free cruise" after a visit to Branson, MO.  When I called to reserve our 3-day/2-night cruise, I was pressured to buy a more extended vacation.  I resisted so they settled for the what they had promised me - I just had to pay $118 in port taxes. I was told I would receive a packet in the mail, but I was given a confirmation # and told the sailing date. As the date approached, I still had not received my packet so I called the direct-line number I had been given. They said the packet had been returned because of an incorrect address, they tried to call but my phone number had been entered incorrectly, and on top of all this, they had my name misspelled. Interestingly enough, they had my credit card number exactly correct. And since I hadn't called after receiving my packet (which I never got), my space on the cruise was given to someone else. There was absolutely no room on the cruise for us to go on our original sailing date, even though we had already purchased non-refundable airfare for the dates they had given me. Because of the inconvenience they had caused me, they offered to upgrade me, for very little additional cost, to a 4-day/3-night cruise which was sailing two days later. (After talking with numerous people on the cruise who had similar stories to tell, I am convinced that there was never a 3-day/2-night cruise scheduled - it was just a scam to get people hooked and then force them to upgrade and pay more money.) This is a classic bait-and-switch scam which is considered fraudulent in most states. FLORIDA, do you not have laws concerning this? Well, I paid the extra money for an upgrade ($198) and was told I would need to pay an additional $297 for more "port taxes" since we would now be in the Bahamas for an additional day.  It turns out that we were only in the Bahamas for one day. The additional day was spent at sea. Upon our return home, I called the credit card company and disputed the additional charge. That dispute is still pending. I plan to contact the state of Florida with my complaint and also contact the BBB in Ft. Lauderdale. This company needs to be shut down. For those of you who enjoy cruising, look on-line at the major cruise lines own web-sites. If you watch and plan carefully, you can go on a terrific cruise for no more than you will wind up paying for this dishonest organization.

i received a paper in the mail concerning this free trip.  i called to see what the details were.  it sounded great until they asked for my credit card. i refused to give them my card information and the man transfered me to someone else.  the next guy that got on the phone was very rude and was trying to pressure me into giving my card.  when i refused he hung up on me.
today i received another call from the same people now they were going to lower the price from 800 to 295, because  " they didn't want to loose my business.  i told the guy again i dont have a credit card and he said he would call me back later.  he told me i could get a prepaid card from walmart and put the money on there.  that is when i looked the company up on the internet and saw the complaints.  i hope there is going to be something done about this.

I would say as long as this was booked on a credit card call the credit card company RIGHT AWAY and let them know, Then contact your local police or OPP fraud department. Usually your credit card company will take care of you in these cases. You will have more luck with them than with the scam merchant The scammer will at least have to prove you have received some sort of service for your money...

I got the same scam call! I was getting pre-recorded messages on  my answering machine, One time they called and I decided to pick it up I told them thanks but no thanks! She tried to say I had done an on-line survey three weeks ago and won this 2 day cruise (I have never even heard of a 2 day cruise?!?!) I had done no such survey and told them so. This is a total scam!!  She had a strong red-neck sounding accent and said she was calling from Florida sounded more like somewhere further south...

I keep getting calls on my cell phone during the day from 18009012932. it is from Ramada Plaza Resorts, Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines. I have asked them 3 times to remove me from their list and they are not stopping. I am very protective of my cell phone number and have it registered with the canadian do not call list. I cannot get rid of this vermin so I would now like to register a complaint.

Hello.  I am so sorry for your mistake  I just made the same foolish mistake yesterday.  Later that day, I decided to cancel because I had an uneasy feeling.  I can't get in touch with anyone as it is the week-end, of course.  I am in big trouble with family for this.  Please tell me if you ever had any recourse in getting your money back or what happened?  Did you have to cancel all your account?  I'm trying to do this A.S.A.P. in case there is a refund policy.  Thank you so much for your reply.  It is very appreciated.

My husband was also sucker into this, on the vouvher we got in the mail saids, the month is 03, day is 05 year is 07. They also took credit infor. for over $ 700.00. They also said that we have three years to take the three trips. We did get some infor in the mail, today I have spent 2 1/2 hours to find out how to get in touch with them to see if we are even still able to take the trips which we cannot afford because I am now without a job. What I want to know is, if there is anyway we can at least get some of the money back.

Free Cruise!!! Just $798.

My fiance received an offer in the mail.  She put me on 3-way (thank god) and then called the number.  It was a scam that whole way, first I asked how they got my fiance's information, and the girl said "through her outstanding status, her credit card company, and her occupation".  I asked if they knew where my fiance worked, they "did not have that information".  I asked what credit card company, slightly bemused, because my fiance does not have a credit card.

I actually lost my wallet 3 days ago, and had just canceled, and re-ordered my debit card (which hadn't come yet).  I told them that it sounded like a great deal, but I would need to do some research and call back.  They kept going on and on about how if we disconnected, that I would no longer get the deal and that I should find a credit card to charge it to.  What a joke!

I've read some other posts and I have no doubt there is probably a trip, that includes a sales pitch for time shares, but this company definitely practices some questionable sales tactics.  They attempt to reassure you with the name over and over... things like, "Well we are Ramada, we can afford to do stuff like this."

After all was said and done, they encouraged the both of us to call again soon, if and only if, we received another offer from them.  I bet we could call back right now and book the trip with no problem, haha.

Hi Paul, thanks for the information on this being a scam, but it came to me to late. I was convinced into buying their package and everything, it seemed great with the added trips and everything, but now i reecently booked my trip and i was mislead with some prices and they are forcing me to pay more. I have talked with several supervisors and agents all saying the same thing over and over again thats it is not there fault. I was wondering if you had a number i could call directly to speak with the president of the business and bring this to his/her attention.

i conducted a survey and was told that i had won a free 3 day 2 nites cruise to the bahamas from ft. lauderdale.  I was skeptical but conducted the survey out of boredom thinking no one would call, a week later someone did and i was giving the whole spiel about wanting to upgrade to 7 days in florida or whatnot. I had won the package for 2 to the bahamas but would have to pay $59 each for the docking fee. Well, i was excited and i let that get the best of me so i made a payment over the phone for $118.  They gave me a confirmation number and customer service number and everything and said a package would come in the mail within 2 weeks.  Well, i got the call late so an hour later i arrived home and did research and found that it's a scam, i called the bank number to freeze my account and i'd go to the bank and get issued a new one.  I hope they didn't withdrawl the money yet.  To everyone whose vulnerable, please avoid these scams.  I understand people fall for them because of the excitement and everything but in the end, it's not worth it. Thanks for this post/blog/website to inform others about the scam or to educate the uninformed or suceptible ones.  I'll keep you guys posted on what goes on.

Recieved a phone call on the 18th August 2008 and was told i have won a 6 days & 5nights in Orlando, Florida which also included a cruise in the Bahamas this sounds great i thought to myself. I'd made a payment on my visa card and gave them my security number on the back. The lady setup a payment plan due to the amount my card would allow them to cash. Altogether they managed to withdraw $124.00 of which i was aware of a different amount of $120.00. My mind was constantly thinking about this trip. when the package camed in the post it was not what i had expect it to be their was no contract no full details of the package and the feeling of 'TO GOOD TO BE TRUE' kept popping up in my head. I decided to check it up properly and google the details on the net. I managed to find loads of complaints and concerns and decided to call the hole thing off. When I phone the company I'd explained that Iwanted to cancell and felt that this trip was not for me and my family. They were a bit reforceful and tried to offer different options but gave up by cancelling my payment plan, and explained that I could not recieve my $124.00 but was able to pass on the package to a friend or family. My kids were looking forward to this hoilday. I'm really worried about my account and hope that I can say goodbye to only $124.00 in regards to my fallish behaviour. Nevertheless we'll make it to Orlando one day, but not this way.

hi all, i wanted to shard my side since i went on purchase the packet. i recently received what all of you receive, i did purchase the packet and i just came back from my trip last week.. the packet is cheap and like every one else says, you get what you paid for.. i have say i had a great time, my husband agreed with me as well.. it was very compact because of the traveling from one city to another but it was my hunnie and my first time to FL and Bahamas. i dont regrat anything, i see it as first timer where you experience your first travel to another state/country. if experience disappointment on your first trip; the second trip, you would know what to look into to make it better...like i said i had a great time.. i celebrated my 10 year anniversary there. i dont regrat it at all..

My fiance booked a package with these clowns.  When she told my best man, he even said that she should have checked with me first since I am in the call center industry myself.  She thought she was doing a good thing, which she was because her heart was in it.  When she had asked the sales rep if the deposit was refundable she avoided the question and told my fiance to just "wait for her package in the mail and read over everything."

When our "package" came, it was the right address but the wrong name on the package.  She called them right away to correct the issue and they had her personal and financial info in their system with this other person's name.  The excuse they offered was that "perhaps someone on your street has that name" which we know to be false.  We cancelled right away and they said that we would be refunded all but $87 of the $349 deposit she had paid.

A few weeks go by and my fiance calls back today.  They are giving her a runaround so she asks to speak with someone higher up.  After being on hold for forever, she gets through to someone.  This so-called "higher-up" person frustrates and aggravates her so I get on the phone.  His name was Charles Imperial Majesty employee ID #1080 (was all of the info he would give me about him).  He stated that he knows for a fact that EVERY client is told that the deposit is non-refundable.  I asked him if he personally heard the phone conversation between my fiance and their rep and he began to raise his voice to me.  I raised my voice back and informed Charles that I also work in the call center industry and know that he cannot be raising his voice at customers.  I asked to speak with his supervisor and he basically refused by stating that he did not have a supervisor that he reported to other than the president of their company (Dan Lambert he went on to tell me but when I asked him he had to search for the name).  Charles did not know the company address either when I asked him.  He had to look that up as well.  What an idiot!!!

I am rather disturbed by the fact that they put my personal and financial info in an account with somebody else's name.  I filed a complaint with the FL. State Attorney's office and the BBB.

If anyone else wants to file a complaint, here is the link:
http://myfloridalegal.com/pages.nsf/4492D797D ... C5?OpenDocument

Did they mention anything about your money being non-refundable?

I just recieved not one but twoo vouuchers to the bahamas.  I thought it was too good to be true.  I did a little research after I called a good friend who happenes to be in the cruise line business. I have to admit that the vouchers looks so authentic it had me going for a little while ...(5 min).  Thank you for posting this information, now I can sleep better knowing that I was not taken by this unforgivable scam.  Unforgivable because peoples' savings are at risks.  Thank you again!

And which company do you work for? Obviously one of the above mentioned companies.

I don't need a time/holiday share. And, if any deal makes me make irratic spontaneous decisions, It is not a deal for me. I need to know information about what it is that I won. I don't think I should EVER have to give my credit card # over the phone.

If you do not work for the above mentioned you were one of the few who went along with it an now in turn they are sales rep who "will tell the whole truth". All you would have to do is convince one other person then your trip is "paid" for and anyone else you send will just be a bonus for the company.
