Just got a call from these folks, and it sounded like a scam. Luckily, I'm not authorized to do whatever the guy was saying (talked way too fast, on purpose).

We have discovered that the 213 number calls daily to see if a live person picks up and then within 10-20 minutes, we get a call from 800-405-6164 saying that we're a featured small business and they'd like to give us $300 in rebates. They will then say they need to verify your info and want you to give it to them.  If you ask them to repeat it to you, they'll hang up.  The deal is that once you say "ok" to giving them your info, they use that as a verbal approval to sign up for bogus services which they then start billing you for.  After 30 days they then start saying they're going to send it to collections because they have your approval "recorded".  It's a total mess and massive attack on our small businesses.

If you try and call the 800 number back it gives you a bogus autmoated message and hangs up on you.

We've already had our attorney deal with an almost duplicate separate scenario and this one is no different.  We haven't found a way to stop it and currently don't answer it.  When we're bored we'll pick it up and really harass them which I think is somewhat deserved.

What if i picked up and gave them a false name. Also when he was talking I hung up on him. Would that be a verbal agreement? I mean thats not my name. plus hung up on him when he was talking fast.

I JUST HAD A PHONE CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AND THE PERSON WAS RUDE .

We have a policy not to do business over the phone unless we initiated the call (due to the fake AT&T and fake yellow pages scams), so I politely told the lady, ?No thank you. We?re not interested,? and I hung up.  They called back the next day and I said exactly the same thing, then they called again the next day, and it was a repeat.  Today when they called I said, ?You?ve called here four times now.  We are not interested.  Don?t call back.  We are on the do not call list.?  And I added them to our list of known scams, so no one here will ever give them the time of day.  Don?t do business with these people.  It's fishy.

I had 3 lines ringing and picked up the wrong one so I ended up listening to some broad yapping about how we would be receiving a package of...whatever.  I slammed the phone down in her ear. I'm sure she gets that a lot.

This outfit just called and did not leave any message.

I just received a call from these people.  Have ABSOLUTELY no idea what the man said, it was fuzzy reception, and with a foreign accent, and when I asked him to repeat, the person apparently hung up.  Had me going around my office wondering if I had just missed an important call I had been expecting, which also was an 800- number.  Tsk.  Sorry I can't identify it better, but it was from this number, and judging from the previous comments from this number, I didn't miss a thing.

Same thing happened to me, i work for a little office supply company, and they called, and asked for my last name, i didnt tell them anything, i dont think its a good idea either, i told them i just started work here, and they wanted to talk to someone who was full time, i told them no one else was here, then they hung up

Basically the same experience as everyone else except when I said I didn't want anything from them, they hung up mid-sentence. Speed talker, I had to ask her to repeat the company name twice.

Got a call from someone claiming to be "small business solutions" I then said some really obscene things and he said "Ok I guess I'll call back"

Just called my business.  Said it was Debbie with Smart business solutions.  Wanted to send me some coupons and $300 dollars toward my utility bills and phone service.  Told her we do not do business with them and I am not interested in the service.  Then I hung up. :)

Same as previous postings.  Let's get this annoying calls to stop.

They've phoned hear about 3 times now. I thought they would stop the first time I told them we were not interested, but they just keep calling. They state they are calling from "Small Business Solutions" and that our town is a preferred customer.

Same details described above.  During the 3rd party (speed reading)verification process, they state the cost will be $49.95 a month, with a 30 day free trial period.  We stopped them at that point reiterating that we are not authorizing any changes or charges.  They continued on attempting to convince us of their "deal".  When we again told them no and they said we would not receive anything in the mail.

Same as above, they called and said they wanted to verify my address. Then Transfered me to someone who told me that this phonecall was being recorded. They went though the whole verification thing, then at the end rattled off a quick phrase something to the effect of "You are authorized to make charges to your telephone bill and are at least 18 years old, is this correct?" When I answered that I was not authorized to make charges, they immediately hung up on me. If you get a call from this number just HANG up on them.

I just received a call from this number, wanted to know my name.  Said he was sending me a packet of rebate coupons for $300 toward our utility bills and wanted to confirm our address.  Then he put me through to someone else to verify the information.  I told them we are not interested, asked to be removed from their list, and hung up on them.  Sounds like a scam to me!
