Originally received a call from this number last week and no message was left. After the second call in less than two hours, I blocked them in Google Voice. I don't actually receive the call and they receive the automated, "this number is no longer in service" message. I just check my spam folder about once a week and they have been a bit heavy on the attempts lately. Today they've called/messaged on the hour for the last three hours alone. They use a different numbers and so far I've blocked two of them.

Some research has shown that they are possibly a company called Allied Interstate. It is a debt collection agency who has repeated fines from the FTC for their threatening/rude tactics and failure to verify information before affecting some unsuspecting individual's credit score. They were fined a record $1.75 million last fall.

PS-I have no debts in collection. All my bills are paid on time and I keep tabs on my credit report.

This number continues to call me 3-4 times a day.  Everyday.  I have picked up the phone and no one answers or speaks to me.  They also do not leave a message.  They only continue to call and continue to call.

Finally, just now I called them and someone actually picked up!  I have formally requested they stop calling me.  I say formally because they repeated "ok, so you have requested for us not to call you."  And I said, "yes".  They also said, "just so you know this call may be recorded for future purposes."  And I said, "Great!  Please record this call!  Because I have asked you to stop calling me and I want it on record when you call again and I report you."

Then they asked, "Is this Laura and do you have a forwarding number for her?"  I said, "No.  I don't know who she is or how to find her.  You need to stop calling this number."

So, that was only a moment ago.  We will see if I receive any more calls from them...

got call from this number today....looking for my EX wife....we've been divorced for 8 years, so either she gave out the number or these b*****ds go to no end to try and get someone!!

I keep getting calls from this number.  I do not owe any bills that are not current nor does anyone else in the household.  My name is on the do not call registry.

I have T Mobile. There is a call reject feature. I added them to my list.

Get Call Intercept. It comes with a 25 number Block List. You can block many types of #s including 800 #s.

This collection agency, Allied Interstate, keeps on calling my number looking for someone with the same last name. I have told them several times that there is no one here with that first name, to please remove my number. They keep on calling, so I'm filling a complaint with the at www.FTC.gov One complaint doesn't do much, but if each of you who has the same problem would file a complaint this collection agency will stop their "fishing" expeditions.

800-410-2940 calls at 0800 in the AM every AM including Sundays.

How can I stop these calls. Start at 8AM and call every hour and a half. No message left. This is my land line. Can someone give me an answer as to how to block this number.They don't wait for the recording to come on. I have Verizon service.

Most cell phone companies have a way of blocking numbers from calling your phone.  For AT&T, adding smart limits allows you to do this. Blocked or unresticted numbers can also be caught with a free program called TrapCall. I believe Verizon has a code that you can type in after the number calls your phone to block it from calling you again. I'm not sure how you block the callers from calling a landline.

I am sick and tired from receiving phone calls from 8004102940 several times a day. Sometimes it is a non-stop call from the same number. They also never leave a message for us to call them back ! It is really very frustrating and aggravating, to say the least. Please stop them from continuing being a Pest !

We have been getting calls 2-3 a day. caller id shows the phone number the few times i have picked up there is no person.

There is no call company "out of area" is what my caller id says.

Same as the rest - calls 3-4 times a day, no one speaks (until today).  Turns out they're looking for the former owner of my number - who gave it up over a year ago!  The seem to think I know where the deadbeat is, tho.  Knuckleheads!
