i got numerous messages from this # as well. when i finally called back, they said that some one by the name of michael morgan (attorney at law from the state of ohio supposedly) has been hired to collect a debt. when i asked them for information on this attorney, the lady on the phone wanted to know why so i told her it was to verify he was really an attorney. She said "ooooh, ok." sounds like she was full of s**t. I told her that she could relay the message of giving her boss my attorney's name and number (he is a real attorney)

These people have been calling me four times a day for the past two days. And, now...they've gone so far as to call my mother's home and told her they needed her to call them about a "reference" for me. I've sent two cease and desist letters via fax and email. I'm not going to be harrassed by these people, and I'm very close to calling a lawyer in.

I've been getting calls from 4 different people from NES over the last Month 1/2....I actually do have a debt that I'm trying to settle for about 20% only cuz I don't have any other funds available and just want closure...anyway, they say the settlement has been denied and I'll be getting papers on when to appear in the mail, etc...then calls from 2 other people since that time...I'm just wondering (Drew ? ) how far they will really go...cuz I really want to just settle up...I'll let them take me to court if it means being able to make payments and get it squared away (legally and without any more hassles)...thx for any help on this one !

I recently worked at this horrible place. National Enterprise Systems is the collection agency from hell. It's the devil's worst nightmare. Employees are trained to collect according to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act but once on the floor in their respective departments collectors are told to forget everything they learned.

My supervisor, Bryan Howard under the alias of Paul Stevens, regularly provided a second voice to collectors having trouble closing collections. This idiot would identify himself to callers as a federal agent, an NES attorney, etc., anything to try to scare the debtor into paying. He would actually tell debtors and their spouses that a lawsuit had been filed and if the account is not paid by postdated check by a certain time that day a deputy of the court was coming to serve the debtor on his job. I witness this on a daily basis all day long. B. Howard is neither a federal agent, attorney nor any of the other things he claims to be and NES don't sue debtors. All are clear violations of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

Debtors are talked to as if they're inhuman. Even when the debtor is not home the person taking the message is treated like dirt. I will never forgot my supervisor shouting at an 81 year old African-American woman for not getting a pen and paper to take the message. "I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE 81 YEARS OLD HE SCREAMED AT THE WOMAN." I've witness collectors hollering at kids "GO GET YOUR FATHER."

You are not supposed to talk to spouses—in certain states--about their significant others’ debt unless given permission by the spouse to do so. This rule is ignored at NES. In fact when I left training I put the document about the spouse rule on my cubicle wall to reference only to have it snatched and trashed by Bryan Howard who said I wouldn’t need it.

The owners Ernest Pollack, his wife, and two sons: Scott and pie-faced Chris are well aware of what is going on. These people are hands on owners. They constantly walk the call room floors, note the individual collectors and group collection sales and hear all the violations first hand. The more a collector screams at a debtor the more they like it. People actually clap and cheer when a collector goes off on a debtor. All that concerns these greedy money grabbers  is how much money they are collecting at any given time.

Payments are demanded in full although they do offer settlements that are too demanded in full. Money orders and mail-in payments are not accepted, only postdated checks over-the-phone or Western Union Transfers for Citi Bank accounts. Some other creditors do allow NES to also take payment by credit card. For the postdated checks debtors are asked to give their accounting and routing numbers. NES, the scumbags they are, attempts to take the money out before the postdate. Nice company huh!

Collectors and supervisors once provided with bank info by the debtor call banks automated customer service numbers to obtain how much money they have in their accounts. We have their social security numbers so getting info this way is like taking candy from a baby. Some banks have safeguards against this and required you talk to a live person. They also work this wickedness on debtors’ credit card accounts or the credit card accounts of the debtors’ spouse, mother, father, etc. I remember one collector on the phone with a debtor saying “Your Mother Has $7,000 On Her Card She Can Use;” She Can Pay This Debt For You!”

If anyone needs someone who's "been there" in any of their legal actions against this despicable company I’m your guy.

Same as above "calling about an important business matter. He then says something to the effect of, "For resolution, please call 800-411-5317" This person has been calling me for the last couple of days asking for a Jose Lopez. Well I called them back and told them that this phone call is been recored and for the last time quite calling. Well the man on the other end got very upset and said I don't have his permission to record the call and hung up. I'm just waiting for that Mother Fcuker to call again.

I just received several unknown calls on my cell phone today. The first left a automated message that was cut off. Finally about a few minutes ago I received the exact same call although this one left a real message stating he was looking for me ,and calling from the Offices of Joe Grant ,and that it was impairitive that i contact them in response to a complaint they received this afternoon (strange it was this afternoon when they been calling all day). I thought maybe it had something to do with work as I called off today. When I did some googling of the number ,and extension this "Joe Grant" left i discovered this site. The name Joe Grant seemed to fake to me.

They will use fake names, which is against the law and they will trick you into calling back...When calling they are supposed to say this is So and So from NES..but they will find was to try and trick..Like this is so and so and we are handling your case WE are John Doe law firm and blah blah blah and they will sucker you into calling back then they will say something like "this is NES and you have a debt of x amount of dollars...if you don't pay the x amount by 9 pm our time, we are suing you"...which is a lie and again against the law...
Remember to know your rights and don't be tricked by these horrible creditors..

For a few weeks I have been getting the exact same call, 2-3 calls per day, that  is a prerecorded message from a man claiming to be "Dan Morgan" calling about an important business matter. He then says something to the effect of, "For resolution, please call 800-411-5317." Irritated beyond belief, I finally called the number but didn't leave a message when it went to a female's voice mail. Her voice mail message said that I was calling "National Enterprise Systems, Inc." When the call comes in, my caller ID shows "unknown caller."

I kept getting calls from this number, and my credit is top rate...I owe NOONE money. They just had the wrong number for someone else. Various people at this place kept calling me, and I called and left a vm for one person this morning and said they have the wrong # and I don't know the person they are trying to contact(and gave the name). Then when I got the second call at 8:15am I called that person right back.  I told him I am not the person they are trying to call and to please get my name off the list. He actually was nice, but asked me to hold.  I was just about to start working from home for my job, and after 3 minutes he didn't come back and I hung up. I will contact the Better Business Bureau if this continues.

Person calls my office saying he is Joe Grants.  Says this is a personal matter and won't say what it is about. He is very rude and threatens me about a debt that is nothing I am aware of ever making.  When you call the number back you don't get the person who originally called.  They ask you for personal information.  How do you make this stop?

I get these calls at least once a day.  Someone saying they are Dan Morgan and its about a business matter.  Then sometimes they call and say they are from NES.  I picked up the phone one time and said nothing, because I don't answer unknown numbers.  They guy said he could hear me breathing.  What the f......   One time he left a extension number.  I called it back and blew a whistle in his ear several times as loud as I could.  I don't answer the phone anymore if its a unknown number, never did, never have.  They do that so you can't say they are harrassing you....

This site advertises for a reverse look up on the phone number.  Then when you do one they want to charge you to get the information.  They tell you its available.    This is a scam too..........

I too got a couple of "Dan Morgan / resolution" calls.  I searched, found this site, and then made the callback to 1 800-411-5317 . was told that I must be lying if I said they were calling me, and then they tried to guilt me into giving out my cell phone number, because they "could not be calling my home phone if it was not in the system."  Well, surprise surprise, after I insisted that they take the number off the list, they magically discovered it linked to the name of a guy who lived here for about 6 months, 8 years ago.  It does not offend me that they are trying to reach him, if they have business with him.  I wouldn't mind getting some money from him, either, if it comes down to that.  However, it does offend me that they are either incompetent or liars, and that they became so very rude.  It helped when I mentioned their terrible reputation online!  So this site is providing a real benefit.  Thanks, whocallsme.

Response to the above comment:

Please don't do the whistle in the ear.   Why?

1. Call center hacks don't choose which companies contract out to them on a particular day.  Most of them don't want to work collections, but if they don't, they lose their jobs (most of which involves doing non-collection calls for charities).

2. It can deafen someone for life, which is out of proportion compared to getting phone calls.

3. the person getting harmed is probably not the same jerk who was such a jerk when you talked to the last jerk.

4. in theory they can press charges, even if they are the ones placing the call.

5. The real jerks are running the company.

6. Call centers employ a lot of ex-cons on parole.  If you're feeling bleeding heart, consider that the ex-cons can't leave the job or they go back to jail (slave labor, right.)  If you're feeling anti-crime, well, ask yourself--do you want someone in that situation really, really ticked at you?  They know your number. They can find out where you live.

7. Reporting them to the BBB is more effective, as is waiting to say the magic "put me on the do not call list" phrase.  If they are hard core, other phrase will do.

What I find completely rediculous is that every one of you know that you have a bill. You ALL know that you are tryng to get away w/o paying the bill. So why come on the internet and blog to all of the other "debtors" out there and try hiding. Answer the phone correctly. Act like an adult instead of a 10year old that runs from the bill.

Honestly, it is SAD that instead of facing the music you all hide behind your computer screens and cry. You should not be MAXing out your credit cards if you cant pay for them. Face the music and quit complaing about every thing and any thing you can.

All the automated messages are illegal.  Per FDCPA and the case of Foti v.   NCO Financial Systems - even automated messages as well as messages left by a person from a 3rd party debt colelctor must state who the call is for and have a disclosue in the course of the message to advise anyone who is not the debtor a chanceto stop listening.  Then it is to proceed with the nature of the call being to collect a debt, no other infor allowed to be given - i.e. casenumbers, legal terms, ramifications, or any sense of urgency) and the identity of the company and the call back number.  You can contact a lawyer.  Also it is against the law for a collection agency to leave more than 1 message per day per debt.  If a colelction agency leavs a message at 8:30am then it is technically illegal to call back at all for the rest of the day becuase that is considered as legal "debtor  contact".  If you do want to consult a lawyer, be sure that keep all recorded messages and phone logs of when their "unkown caler" status shows on the screen.  If you do happen to talk to someone on the phone don't give in to any demands and record the call.  WARNING!  If you do record the call be sure that you live in a 1 part state - that means a state that only one party has to know about the act of a recording.  If you live in a 2 party state then you shouldadvise the person on the end that you are recording the call.  Most judges arepretty lenient if you record a call from a debt collector, even if you don't state that pupose, but you never want to take your chances against these slimeballs.
