I had been receiving multiple calls from 877.818.3396 (this was the call back number) and finally they left me a message saying I was a reference for an individual I did not know. After reading mostly OK reviews about the company, I called them back. I had to give my number to let them access my given information, but I figured since they were already calling there was no harm in that. The man I spoke with was very friendly and when he asked my name and I declined, he gave me the name that my number was listed as and the name of the person who referenced my number. I let him know that I was neither of them, nor did I know anyone by those names, and he apologized and corrected the information.

Ya they are a real company and the biggest piles of crap and liars!! sold me a car that 8 months later firat was in the shop more than i drove it and 2 only covers the parts around my broken parts! wants me to pay 450$ to see of the motor is wreckes! i told them to come get it!! they lie, there vehicles are POS and have issues a mile of lot.

A legit company that requires TWELVE references?  That's one of the craziest things I have heard in a long time!  Why would anyone do business with a company that is this intrusive?

This is a legit finance company, does auto loans, part of the process is you have to provide the names of 12 friends or relatives who can get a message to you, not as a reference but just as an additional way to reach you if they can't get you on the phone.  They are actually really nice people, and just trying to follow up on a missed car payment, most likely.

They are a collection company, associated with Carhop, the car dealership that sell cars at 20% interest.

Called to harrass me about someone named Denise Brown who listed my phone number as a reference.  Suggested it is my issue, wont provide any information, hung up on them

You only lose your phone minutes when you answer it.
If an unknown number calls you I suggest you don't answer it.

Do you have a Facebook account? I think that is how they get a lot of information on friends.
Report them to the FTC. It will make you feel great.

I can not relay messages so quit calling my phone and using up my minutes.  TAKE ME OFF YOUR CALL LIST

If you are receiving calls from collectors regarding either yourself or others, please refer to FDCPA , a Federal Act (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) which lays out your rights and collector requirements.  Just go online and punch in FDCPA and you'll find numerous sites  explaning the Act.

800-414-2622 keeps calling here asking for someone else.  tried to call back and got put on hold for 5 minutes.  do not want them calling here any more.

Unwanted calls about someone I supposedly know

This number keeps calling my cell, but there is nobody there and they never leave a message!  Annoying!!

I "missed" a call from this number on my cell phone, which is on the Do Not Call list.  They did not leave a message, and based on the feedback above, I am not returning the call.

This is Car Hop!  UAC is their financial company that finances cars for bad or no credit.  Little know fact is that Car Hop and UAC are owned by the same people.  In order to get financed you have to list 11 references with phone numbers so they can harass them when your late on your payment by even one day!!  Even after telling them when you will be able to make the payment they note it in the account but keep calling you and all your refrences!! completley annoying since I have been paying them every 2 weeks an obscene amount of money for a car worth a fraction of the price.

They keep calling me in regards to one of my friends giving them my number for a reference.  She has told them to stop calling us or she will report them for harrassment.  They won't talk to my husband and will only talk to me - they act like its for a job that they are calling for.  then if you don't give them the answers they ask if you will please give her a message to call them that it is imperative.

Someone from uac called my 13yr old daughters cell saying some one used her number for contact and to give message. We. Don't known that person either.

They called and asked if Ricky was available. I've had the # for 3 years and I don't know a Ricky. IDIOTS.

It is UAC. I had 5 missed called from them so I just called them back and asked why I was being called. They said my number was attached to some account with a name that was not mine. They were very nice and said they would fix the issue.

They Just called. Said i wasnt home...

They've called me a few times so I just called them back and told them to remove my number from whatever list I was on. They said some random customer of their's had my my number down as her own. They were nice about fixing the issue

Thank you for information ... I received a call from this number just like everyone and i thought it was weird because shouldn't they ask you about how the person is work or school wise ... So i told them im not giving any information to them ... Then i called my friend and told her ... boy was she surprise ... We were still wondering thou how did they know we were friends ... ??? Strange  ... So dont give information without permission and be care everyone ...

p.s. I receive the call @ 3 am so i thought the lady said EYU but i guess she said UAC ...

Saying I've giving a credit referance, which I have not, and recieved several calls, and asked them over & over NOT to call this personal line

I think its a collection agency trying to get current info on people who owe money.

Same story on my end - call from this number, they've been cordial on the phone - just asking if I can get a message to someone who put me down as a reference on their car loan.

Well, they called me agin just a few minutes ago and finally someone was on the other end. They basically said the same things that the person posted above. They called about my old coworker and had her correct name, address, home & cell phone numbers, employer, and position she works. Anyway, they told me to have her call them so I text my old coworker and she said UAC is the company she makes her car payment to. I thought the car had went into default so I guess this company is either a finance or collection agency, or both.

Three calls, each time I say hello a couple times and they hang up even though I can hear several call center workers in the background.

I receive calls from this number sporadically.  They sometimes leave a message stating that a friend of mine has used me as a reference. Which is not true, I was listed as his landlord on a car loan.  I refuse to speak to them and they have now started to page my cell number instead.  I don't know how to get them to stop calling me.  I have nothing to do with their services!

Cell rings with Euro ringer tone = nobody I know. Everyone I know has a special tone. I decide to pick up disguising my voice (just 'cause). A woman asks if Ricky is available (I don't know.. is he?) I say - WRONG FU(KING NUMBER. She starts to say something or b!tch at me but I held the phone away and stated - DON'T CALL THIS FU(KING NUMBER AGAIN B!TCH!
