buy a Panasonic cordless phone set
you can block up to 500 phone numbers on the newest sets
they are 70$ at walmart for a set of 4 phones
or you can buy the single phone for 19$
after the call ends, you just go to missed calls, hit select and then click the BLOCK option
in the future anytime a blocked number calls, the first ring will be silent in your home, this allows the phone to check the number against the blocked database, then the blocked number calling will be met with dead air, they will not get a ringtone, busy signal or anything

They called me asking for clothes. I said sure I have lots and they asked for my address to pick them up. I gave them a fake one LOL.

The Goodwill and Sally Ann are two different Charities. Value Village does not deal with either of them.

Call all the time requesting clothes.  They sell your clothes and skim the majority of the profits, a small amount is donated to satisfy their claim this is a charity.

Kidney Foundation they left no message but I called the # back and asked to take me off their list. We'll see if they ever call again!

GOODWILL is a registered charity -a branch of the Salvation Army  and does NOTcall or use call centres. This organization has done great charity work and for decades throughout the world .I remember them from the Second World War and believe they were there for the first as well. They assisted new mothers at births, fed and clothed families and looked after the ill as well as giving gentle religious guidance. They still run summer camps for the needy and much more. They use volunteers as well as some paid staff in their stores.

A TRUE CHARITY ...well worth your support!!!

Soooooo pls do not connect them with the likes of "value village'  a business that links it's self to charities. I have shopped at both stores and believe V V uses only paid staff.. I don't believe they are a registered "KIDNEY FOUNDATION" charity but simple DONATE a to the 'cause' the same as you or I and they recieve a tax write off.for doing so.

By all means pls support The KIDNEY FOUNDATION...and also encourage organ donation when you can...thanks for reading

Well, it didn't work.
They called twice in the last 2 days, once in the morning and once in the evening. I answered the second call which was after 8pm, and when I informed him I was told a few weeks back that I was taken off their call list the guy apologized.

Nice people on the phone, I'll give them that compared to some jerks that have been rude  - but clearly don't respect peoples' phone lines and I doubt they even have a "call list" they take you off of. :P Another company I won't be donating anything to due to their call tactics.

Get this call numerous times. I NEVER pick when it is a telemarketer or whatever. I'm on the DNC list. It's useless. I got MORE calls after I put my name on it.

Called me this morning, said they were calling from the Kidney Foundation; I cut her off and calmly said "We're not interested, and can you please take this number off your call list?" She was actually very polite (for once!) and told me sure, she'd do that right now and to have a nice day, Shockingly easy - now let's see if it works!

I used to donate a lot of used clothes to charities, but this company (Kidney Foundation) keeps on calling me at least two times a week but no one on the other end, and left no message. Now I put themin my black list and never donate them anything. I give to someone else who respect my personal life.

They are Value Village a for profit store like goodwill.

When I say "Hello" and, at first no one answers, then it's "Hello, hello" at the other end ...no matter what the call is about ...they've just lost me as a benefactor, client or sucker for their charity, business or scam.
If you're going to answer the phone like one of those "boiler room" hired at the airport refugees then don't waste my time calling.

Call me and state your business ...it's that simple! Don't get on the phone and make it sound like I called you!

After an unreasonable amount of "Hellos" I was told it was a call from the Kidney Foundation, I simply hung up!

Maybe Canadian schools should implement a, "How to use a Telephone" course! There are certainly a growing number of dumba$$es out there who don't have a clue.

Yes, they are a real charity. They are a national charity with divisions in each Canadian province.

It is the Kidney Foundation of Canada - Ontario Branch. I called them back and they say they are having issues with their 'dialer'. They will ask if you want your number removed from the call list.

But are they a real charity? Ask them for their charity number and a phone number which to call them back. See if they'll give that to you. Scammers will say they don't know or that they're unregistered. I don't deal with unregistered charities because most of them are only in it for themselves. They ruin it for the one or two decent non-registered org.'s.

If they give you a number you can check it online. Try
