Keep getting these unsolicited automated calls from this 1-800-613-6524 stating they have been trying to reach me because I won a cruise. They are calling at least three times a week leaving the same messages and that if I want to be taken off call the "do not call list" 1-800-922-6373. I finally called the do not call number and it was the Caribbeancl Cruise line itself. Told the representative to stop calling my number to which I gave her, then she asked for my name, to which I said "it is not important, just stop calling my number." She got indignant and said goodbye. Hope that works.

I got the exact same call. Exact. From a Mrs. Johnnie Mae Brown. Call came from 800-530-9744. This came after I got a phone call from 503-457-1265 to complete a survey, which I did. Was hesitant the entire time, waiting for her to ask for a credit card number while she chatted me up, people laughing in the back ground. When she finally did ask for my number to secure the $118 port fee, I said I would have to speak with my husband. Then she asked if he could be reached by 3-way call and what might his objection be. No, no, no. So I asked her if I could call back and she said it's not a call back offer, even though that is what I had just done. Then she said goodbye and hung up. The whole thing does not feel right to me!!

How do you get these people reported? If it's a scam where are the authorities.

My partner just received the "You won a free cruise!" call. Sounded great to him as he scribbled down all the information. Me on the other hand knew the big boom was coming.
I sat on the floor and listened to the man go on about all the wonderful things that Grand(CaribbeanCl.com) was offering all for the low cost of airfare and port taxes. All we needed to do was give them our credit card number and seal the deal. Within days we would get our email confirmation and even receive our reservation numbers before the phone call was done.
We searched the web as we spoke and found some interesting bits. Three things that stood out to me: Why is there address anywhere on the web for this business? Why did the caller give me an address in fort lauderdale? My search only pulled up five and none were in fort lauderdale.
And he gave his home phone number to verify and seal the deal. Huh?
So I ask myself and all who get these calls: Really? Give your credit card number out because this man says I won something? Doesn't winning imply FREE!
A quick search of CaribbeanCL reports, I found only negative stuff about them. So again, why am I going to give you some money?
I hope CarribeanCL reads these and to you I say, my partner may wear a temporary puss now because I poo pooed his trip. But I saved him some future frustrations and me a whole tongue. :)

Carribean cruiseline.. located in south florida.
I asked to come down to their office and verify this..
It's a pathetic scam. The guy said that i've entered into a draw at McNicoll Ribfest and won this free cruise. After a lot of back and forth, I remembered that I entered into a draw for something else. Then the loser asked to 'secure' this prize and whether I have credit AND debit card.
After I said you can pass this on to someone else, the guy hung up with a 'yup'.
loser...

they keep calling every day, we've told them to remove our number, we said we don't want any offers, we stayed on the first call for 23 minutes and realized it's a scam after they wanted our credit card number. They keep calling and say things like "fine! we'll give your FREE cruise to someone else!" and we say please do! Then they call again the next day or even 20 minutes later.

I just had this call too, and the representative had this Mexican accent. I had three missed call from this number and I called back. When they asked for the $118, I sounded skeptical about it....and told them i will call them back. That rep then say how if i disconnected, all my file in their system will be erased and I WILL NOT have the cruise anymore. But then, didn't I just called them back from three missed call?? TOTAL SCAM

Easy solution - add your phone number to the do not call list by calling 18009226373.
| Meg 2011-06-06 20:57:45 Unknown |
This number is apparently Caribbean Cruise Lines - The've been calling me for the past two weeks during business hours a minimum of twice a day, and leaving messages telling me to call back and claim the Florida/cruise vacation that I have "won". I finally answered yesterday, and upon hearing they want me to pay for this "free vacation", I asked them to remove me from their calling list and threatened to press charges for harassment. It seems to have worked.
