How do I know that some of you posters are not really the scumbags sending the faxes? WHo knows, maybe there is another scam going on here. For all I know they may have figured out a way to make money off of people calling the 800 number, so they post on here to get people all fired up to call and give them what they deserve, but all the while the meter is runing. Not sayin thats what's going on, but who can positively tell me it isn't?

This is great, I am actually enjoying screwing with them, I am on my fourth call in as many minutes.  They just keep hanging up on me when I ask for Richard, Richard scamsalot!  I now have rachel putting me on hold. They really dont like the tone in their ears either, I kept saying that they are breaking up.  If Its too good to be true it usually is.

A lot of times the "opt out" feature is as much a phishing trip as the fax itself. If you call to "opt out", then they are receiving validation that there is someone at that number receiving the fax. Have you noticed that you receive more after the "opt out"?

Let's stop being nice to these spamming scammers. Would the police please arrest these POS and throw them in prison for a very VERY long time. If I'm on that jury in the trial I convict them to the max and do it quickly.

These vermin are despicable thieves and I hope a judge gives them a year in prison for each scamming fax they've ever sent out which would mean 1,000,000,000 years in prison!

Let's hold the phone companies liable as well - they could easily put a stop to this, but the profit motive keeps them from doing so - let's contact the phone companies, and tell them to immediately disconnect these scammers phone lines. Do it now!

I've called the 800 number to try to be removed from their list.  Of course I had no luck.  They either put me on hold and leave me there, or the hang up on me.  I like the idea of hitting a button everytime they try to speak...I'm going to giv that a shot!

These guys are in Canada as well.  A fax was sent to my work fax #.  I call immediately as it seemed too good to be true. 3 of my other friends and I were looking at taking a warm vacation in February so I wanted to check this offer out.  Then I went on line and googled the phone # and am I glad I did.  I didn't book as the agent; Richard, said he was the manager and normally didn't answer the phone but they were short staffed.  He even offered me a $75.00 discount if I booked 2 now.  Thank goodness I listened to my inner voice and read your comment on "800Notes"

I have called them 4 times now, and asked to be removed from their faxing list. They take my fax number, say okay, and then hang up on.  Well, this time when I called, I asked to speak to a Manager. I was on hold for about 15 minutes, hung up, and called back.  Got the manager after about 2 minutes.  Asked for an address for the company, got one, and then a phone number. He told me "it's the number you called".  I then asked for a name of someone and he told me there is no name. He said there was no manager or anyone...that the receptionist would open the letter and then give it to the manager.  Um, doesn't that mean there is a manager, who MUST have a name? When I pointed this out, he just said "I've given you all the information you'll get, there is no name".  I will be filing an FCC report on these people every week that I get one of these spam faxes, and I'll be calling them back everyweek, because I might as well get some of my stress released somehow, right? :)

I recieved this fax at work.  I am a college student looking into going on an exciting spring break trip and this seemed like the perfect deal.  I called the number listed on the fax (1 800 419 5431) and spoke with a supposed travel agent.  She was very pushy about needing to reserve RIGHT NOW, but I said I would call back and luckily searched the number online which allowed me to find these posts.  I started feeling a little bit skeptical about the deal and I am so glad I did not give out anymore information than my telephone number...which was repeatedly called by the "agent" afterwards from an unavailable number.  THIS IS SUCH A SCAM, I truly hope no one is sucked into it like I just almost was.

I, too, have been getting this at least weekly - I found a toll-free fax number for the FCC, and am going to start faxing it to them, with a complaint note every time I receive one.
The FCC fax number is 1-866-418-0232.
FCC - Please shut this down!

If you want revenge just call them a couple of times a day in-between tasks and when they answer follow it up with "I want 2 tickets to paradise".  Or "Bermuda, Bahama c'mon pretty mama."  That generally gets the operator pretty steamed.

Same fax, same article, same offer.  I get it every week at my office.  Cancun is nice, if you like cocaine and marijuana dealers on every corner.  Be careful not to look at anybody weird because you might be going home AIR FREIGHT instead of Coach class.

Call them.  Press one of the number keys whenever they speak.  That annoys the hell out of telemarketing people as they listen to the deafening tone in their ear.

This note is posted on USA Today's Contact Us page:

Note to readers: We at USA TODAY are aware of a fax blast of an unsolicited advertisement, designed to look like a story from our Aug. 7 Money section, that has been received in many homes and businesses. The story is a hoax and never was published in USA TODAY. While we cannot comment on the validity of the offer described in the fake article, promoting vacation packages to Cancun, Mexico, and often containing a handwritten note, we do want you to be aware that we have filed reports with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) calling to their attention the fraudulent nature of the fax. To those of you who have called this to our attention, thank you for taking the time to contact us to let us know that our name is being misused in this manner. Should you wish to file a complaint with the government, there are complaint forms available on the FTC website at https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 and on the FCC website at https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do.

Calling them does not do anything.  I filed a report with the FCC and plan on filing one each and every time another of these comes through until they stop.

Complaining here will bring no action.  If you want these junk faxes to stop, then you need to file a complaint with the FCC.  It takes just 5 minutes, and can be done entirely electronically.  The FCC does take action to investigate if you have supplied sufficient information for them to pursue it.
   http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints_tcpa.html

The entire business model for the company behind these spam faxes is built upon breaking the law.  Asking to be put on their "do not fax" list has no effect -- they don't care.  If enough of us file formal complaints, maybe we can get the FCC to take notice and shut them down.
