This number (800-420-3171) calls me approx 10 times a day. I just called them back from a phone number that they cannot callback. The man answering answered stating "this is Alex". When asked if this was a business, he replied yes. When asked the name of the business, he would not tell me, just kept asking for my phone number.  I just hung up on him. If he can't tell me the name of his business, I can't tell him my name!!!

I received two calls from this number today, and since I was tired of taking/answering calls, that were from telemarketers, and those prerecorded political statements, and so many junk calls, using up my cell phone minutes, I did not answer the calls, and if it is U.S. Fast Cash, and if you had never took a loan from them, but took out a loan from Money Mutual, Money Mutual uses maybe 100 lenders in their network, and you don't or can't actually borrow from money Mutual itself, but you actually borrowed from their lenders, so even if you took out a loan, supposedly from Money Mutual, your money may have actually came from Fast Cash, if you hadn't looked closely at where the money actually came from.

I paid these people off several years ago. They now have a "pending case" in the county where I lived when I borrowed. I thought it was odd that she said she was calling from that county office, but had a totally different area code. They are scammers and liars. They think they can get money by scaring people. I'm not scared. I owe nothing. They will get nothing.

The number 1-800-420-3171 called my job, said their name was Nedra and needed a decision on some paperwork.
Needless to say I tracked the number and it was USC=US Fast Cash. It has been over a year and I have paid them off, however they are trying to get additional money. I have my records that I paid them off. My job and bank has been notified that they are a scammers/fraudulent. Hope someone catch up with them and stop this mess. I will not be using anymore payloaners.

Debt Collector
This is a payday loan company or a collection company trying to collect a payday loan.  WARNING!! this company, nor any other company, is going to sue you for less than $5000 or usually unless your debt is over $10,000.  It costs too much money to sue someone for a $1000 debt or even $5000, let alone $300. It would be a waste of their money to sue you because you probably don't have any assets that they could take from you even if they won a judgement against you.  You are entitled to keep certain exempt property, including a car, house, etc. (depends on the state you live in; research the law, including bankruptcy exempt property in your state).  Therefore, if you have no assets and probably won't in the near future, then the company probably won't sue you for less than $10,000.  File a complaint with the Office of Consumer Commission in your state and/or the Federal equivalent; your attorney general's office can also direct you.  You can also call your local state representative or senator or your US Federal representative or senator for help.  Don't let them scare you into paying by claiming that they will charge you with fraud, or check fraud, etc.  I've researched the case law [I'm also an attorney although I no longer practice.  This is not legal advice, I'm writing this as a consumer.  You can research the law yourself.]  No court will take a case like this based on check fraud, etc.  No District Attorney's office will charge someone with check fraud for not being able to repay a payday loan.  Remember also, that the courts and politicians despise payday law companies. These companies, and those that try to collect their debts, try to make it sound as though you are being brought up on criminal charges, but this is a lie.  They also try to make it sound as if they are ready to come out and "serve" you with a lawsuit, but this again is a lie.  They would have to file a lawsuit against you first, which would cost them a lot of money to do so. In order to seize any of your assets, they have to file a lawsuit and obtain a judgement.  However, if you don't have any assets for them to claim with the judgement, then it would be a waste of money for them to file suit.  The only thing they could "serve" you with is a letter demanding payment.  This is not a legal pleading.  If they do show up and give you a letter.  Just take it.  So what.  This is probably  not a lawsuit, and if it is just a letter, then it means nothing; read the letter carefully; they will use all sorts of scary legal language, but if it's a letter, receiving this letter means nothing..  It's the same as mailing a letter to your house or walking up and giving you a letter. No matter how scary a mere letter is, it is not a judgement nor it is a legal pleading. Remember, in the United States, no one can be arrested or go to jail for debt. This is one of the basic premises that our Constitution is based on.  Get an address for these people and write them a letter telling them not to call you at work and not to contact your employer.  Let them call you all they want on your personal phone, you don't have to answer.
They walk along a tightrope of legality by skirting the law and making all sorts of scary claims in hope that the person will not know the law and believe that they are about to served and arrested, so the person pays right away.  It's despicable.  Educate yourself.  Google or Bing check fraud for payday loans, or payday loan collection law, etc.  The information on this subject is out there on the internet for you to learn for free; it's not locked up in a law library like in the old days.  If you are still afraid, then go and talk to an attorney - most attorney's will talk to you for free.

No it is not legal. These are hardcore criminals operating an extortion scam out of India who could care less about "the law". They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/phantom-debt-co ... 16512428&page=1

http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2012/08/bgm.shtm

PS--If the above does not work, let them know your company's security team has installed a wiretap on their phone lines and their calls are being monitored and recorded by the FBI.

The called from 918-442-9109 and when my S.O. answered the phone and said I was unavailable they told him that I had submitted an application. They left a name and a 1-800-420-3171 to call back on.

I wouldn't have submitted an application to anyone that calls from one number and leaves a completely different call back #.

got a call for a former employee.  the person calling was JEFF ROGAN and said that he was with UFC and that she had applied with them.  I thought that I would look up the number, but it appears that maybe she applied on line or something and now they are calling her to give her money.  She's been gone for about 2 weeks, so they are late calling her if this is the only information that they have. Called from 918.442.9109, but left this 800 number for me to send to her.  Payday loans are bad news...  :(

Check with your state attorney general's office. Payday loans are illegal in most states, they are in AR.  I filed a complaint with them after I couldn't resolve it myself.  They told me to stop paying the payday loans, which I don't have to since they are illegal in our state.  The AR Attorney General's office sent them a letter to stop harrassing me and told me to ignore all their calls. They also told me that if USF put anything on my credit report to dispute it as fraud since, once again, these type of loans are illegal in my state.  Your state attorney general is paid by you, the tax payer, and they know how to handle these things - use them.

I received a call (not the first) from this company.  A "David Jackson" claimed he was "returning a call" made by one of our telephone interviewers, but that the original call was not about doing a phone survey  (our only reason for calling anyone).  The Caller ID showed "UFC RC," but I recognized it from previous calls.  I told him that our staff members could not take or make personal calls from the Call Center.
