This number goes to HSBC - they provide coverage for credit cards.  My account is current, paid early or on time each month, so not sure why I get these calls.  I opted for the 'do not call/please remove'.  The recording states it takes up to 30 days for this to process.  Wonderful - 30 days of annoyance from a company that you pay on time!!!

They called again.  See my previous post.  No one in this household picks up the phone from this number but it has become very irritating.  Earlier on we had answered a few times and explained that we are not interested in what they are offering.  However it seems now that they are harassing us.

They call everyday.  We answered a few times and from what I remember it was HSBC.  It has been two months since the last time we have picked up the phone from this number but that doesn't stop them from calling nearly everyday.  I suggest HSBC should stop working with this sub-contractor (I assume) as it is coming to a point that they are getting a negative impact.

This is  HSBC/ Orchard Bank CC.  My fiance has a cc through them and they call non-stop trying to get him to purchase some kind of insurance.  They are rude and I have been hung up on by them on several occasions because they get mad that they call during the day and he works 7am - 5 and can not get a hold of him.  There has been a few times that he has talked to them told them he was not interested and not to call with solicitations and hung up on them because they would not take no for an answer, the person on the other end immediatly called back because my fiance had hung up on him but we did not answer the call back.

I would like to add that his cc account is paid and up to date, so I'm assuming they are calling to sell him something or upgrade something on his account.

They called me also tonight around 8:30 central.  From what I read from another site they are from HSBC.  My husband has an Orchard Bank credit card but my cell number is on the card and they called my landline, which is under MY name only.   How they got my landline number I have no idea.

I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but the last call we received was 2/28.  (See my 2 posts above.)  Although I've had that number blocked since 11/10/2010, they never took the hint, so the last several times they called, I reported the number to the Do Not Call list and also to our newly elected Representative to Congress.  In both cases, I included a complete history of the calls since they began 11/9/2010, and referred them both to this website encouraging them to read through all the pages of complaints.  Since I did the last post Feb. 22nd, and our last received call was Feb. 28th, I'm thinking (hoping) that either/or the Do Not Call list or our Representative did their jobs.

I'll check back periodically and see if anyone posts after this one.

I'm sick of these calls they just don't give up and if HSBC really didn't know about theses calls they wouldn't wait to launch an investigation they would just do it!!! so I don't believe it!
I also think HSBC is this Orchard credit card place!
Just report them to the www.donotcall.org web site

And the calls continue--every weekday!  I wrote HSBC a Cease and Desist letter, but the calls continue.  The number has been reported to the Do Not Call Registry, but the calls continue.  I just now wrote our new Congressman but he'll probably won't have a clue what to do about it, but we'll see.

The first call came 7:52 PM 11/9/2010 and after the 2nd call the next day, I blocked the number but they persist.  This is their call record to date -- called 11/11 twice, 11/12, 11/13, 11/15, 11/16 twice, 11/17 twice, 11/18, 11/19 twice, 11/20 twice, 11/22 twice, 11/23 twice, 11/24 three times, 11/26 twice, << 2 month reprieve>>, 2/7, 2/8, 2/9, 2/10 twice, 2/11 twice, 2/12 twice, 2/15, 2/16, 2/17, 2/18, 2/21, 2/22.

Outrageous!  Totally and completely outrageous!

Calls from this number have just started and i am now receiving 3 or 4 calls per day. Moments ago, I called HSBC, the number on my credit card, and asked if these calls are originating from them. They confirmed that they are and stated that they are security/fraud checks. They said that i will receive a call if there is "suspicious" activity on my account. They also confirmed that there has been NO activity on my account to generate these calls. They then tried to sell me a couple different insurance/protection options. Bottom line: These calls are coming from HSBC. They are robot calls and not very efficient at that. They are calling to sell you stuff. They say they need 30 days to remove you from their call list, we will wait and see.

keep getting those calls from 800-428-6157.... I did 4-7 times a day early as 8am up uptil 9pm.  Very annoying   go to this website which is attached to Orchard Bank, and scroll down to the opt-out options, click all that applies to you and advertisements, it will be  no cookies, you have not opted out, click all those boxes follow it all the way down then click continue.  this should stop your calls soon.

I just went back through my AOL Call Alert log for this 800 number and found they have called our number 32 times since Nov. 9, 2010, often twice a day, and once three times.  I blocked their number on Nov. 10th after reading the posts here, but that only works when I'm online (which is usually all day).  We had a 2 month reprieve from their calls in Dec. & Jan. but they started again 5 days ago.

And no, we have NO business whatsoever with HSBC and never have.

Another thing everyone can do which I did once and it worked, and worked instantly -- never got a call again from the number I reported.  Write your Congressman and complain about this specific number, tell them your experience, and refer him/her to this site.  If you have a Congressman that's worth his or her salt (and not everyone has), the calls will stop.

I'm not especially convinced that the Do Not Call List works at all.  Or works the way they've tried to con us into thinking.

Received email, they apologized and said they will remove my name form solicitation and will not call or mail anymore. I did share with them if I have an account associated with them I will deal with the company it was through, otherwise if I keep receiveing phone calls I will file harassment charges because many of us are getting several calls even though we are on the DNC list and this type of business practice is unacceptable. Good Luck to any who decide to go this route. Firm yet polite.

If it is HSBC try going to their website and report a complaint online. I'll try to post as soon as I hear what they are going to do about it. It might beat calling the number back. At least you can keep a copy of the email and report them if it continues.

This number tried to call me a few times but did not leave a message.  After reading all the blog posts, apparently it must be HSBC (I am a customer).  What I can tell others in regards to this, if you have an account or are a current active customer of this company or any company that calls, the "DO NOT CALL LIST" does not apply.  "If" you are a customer of this company or any company, they have legal right to contact you as often as they want.  I've dealt with these companies for many years and the best way to stop getting contacts is to simply not do business with them or any of their companies.
