My husband received a bill from "RMS" for over $100,000!  This amount was "owed" to a state agency whose name was not spelled correctly. He has had no dealings with this agency,  and owes no money.

Despite the prestigious Manhattan address,  the letter was stamped by a Pitney-Bowes and posted from an inner-city Brooklyn zip code.

This was probably sent by a former RMS employee who purloined stationery when he/she was terminated.

Give the letter to the Police.

Most Pitney-Bowes machines output a license code that can be tracked back to an individual machine and registered user, allowing the miscreant to be identified.

It starts when they call and leave a message on your machine..... "about a letter we sent you". Have Caller ID Never pick up Unknown Numbers  let them leave a message. I have caller ID and they beat it somehow. Never call them back on phone called by 800 or 866 (or any other toll free tel number they log your number as caller automatically) number unless they identify themselves and a specific account and specific matter to discuss left on the on the recording
