800-432-9184 is care credit a legit credit line. I needed a quick credit line over the weekend for a medical emergency for my pet. The vet. had it approved in a few minutes. The call specified their policies. It informed me of the amount due my vet. Right now they have 2 promotional deals you can choose from. I chose the same as cash if paid in 6 months. You will get a statement with a minimum monthly due so make sure you pay it on time or the unpaid balance jumps to over 26%. Also if you pay just the minimum you may not get it paid off in the promotion period. I am not sure it was a good choice to open this line of credit but it was all I could muster in an emergency.

I just got a call from this number and called back. It's an automated message. You only need to provide the phone number where the message was left. The message reads your name. Press 1 to confirm. They will read the charge amount and time and some generic information. Nobody will ask you for your SSN or other personal information. If that happens it's a fraud.

For me, this was a legit call from Care Credit. I got home last night and had a message from them, giving this number as the callback number to reach them at.
I checked here before I called them back because I haven't yet received the physical card from Care Credit to look on the back of. I saw other people reporting it as legit, and I *had* just opened a line of credit with Care Credit for some medical care, just a few weeks ago. So I cautiously called the number, prepared to not give a single bit of identifying information out other than the phone number they called me at. I provided that, and only that, and they gave my full name, the backing bank (GE Capital Retail Bank) and the correct exact amount I used on the line of credit. They weren't looking for information. I'm not sure what the point of the call was. It was basically, "Thank you for taking out this line of credit," so far as I can tell. Pointless. But legitimate.
Actually, if I had given them an incorrect phone number when setting up the line of credit, they would have given personal information about my family to a random third party. I don't know if or how that could be used against me. No account numbers were given. But still.
Oddly, this number is *not* listed on their web site at http://www.carecredit.com/contact.html
Anyway, never give any personal information out on any phone number you are calling back that you haven't verified. And never give out any personal information on an unsolicited incoming call with a good incoming number, because that can be spoofed. Pretty easily.

Care credit is a card for medical health

They left a message for me, and I called back (same number that called). Care Credit is a subsidiary of Citi Corp. This was a legit account that was opened when I was approved through my dentist for a major transaction/loan. So to sum this up - this company is who will call you back if you got approved for a loan/payment plan through a health provider. If someone else provided your phone number while getting approved through their health provider for something, you would get the call (instead of them when they fail to make payments - see how that benefits them?) I NEVER answer calls I don't recognize, but I DO take the time for proper research. You can call the number back & it'll ask if it is you - press the response to say no. Not sure if it'll help disassociate your # with the account, since mine WAS for me, I pressed "1".

This is a legitimate call from Care Credit, a GE Lending company. They were calling to verify a recent veterinary charge.
To answer this idiot: http://800notes.com/forum/ta-4b17a55589c9295/ ... -citibank-calls
"Why would so many people who knew the number was "legitimate" all decide to look it up on an unknown caller site, just to turn around and post detailed stories as to why the call was "real."
My answer: well, smartass, I was busy and didn't initially answer the incoming call. Curious who had called, I looked it up online before calling back. No shill account here, so stop slandering a good company.

The call was for ( another person ) and I was asked to call back to Care Credit, about a possible credit error. I did not return the call as I do not have/had any dealings with Care Credit .

Message left on my machine using names of two people who are not in my household and who I do not know of nor have any knowledge of the two. Mario Lopez and Christina Hernandez are the names asked for. I do not know them in any way.

Care Credit. Saw I had a message from them asking me to call back. I did and received an automated "thank you" for my opening a line of credit with them because of a recent veterinarian expense.

800-432-9184 is legit. I got the same number on my cell phone but was suspicious of a scam, I remembered that I opened an account at my dentists office to make payments on a procedure and then thought it may be them. I was right, It was Care Credit and they set up credit accounts with medical and dental professionals for their patients. They didn't ask for any info but just wanted to let me know that there was a charge from my dentist.
At least we can rule out this number as a scam.

Legitimate call. I received a voicemail from this number stating they were calling from Care Credit, but the rest of the voicemail was cut off. After reading the post above from "Scanner", I decided to call the number back. The automated system recognized my number and stated my name. After pressing "any button to continue" they confirmed the recent line of credit I opened with GE Finance to pay for a medical treatment. The automated system indicated the correct purchase amount, the correct purchase date, and the fact that the line of credit was opened with GE Finance. The purpose of the call was to welcome me to Care Credit (who is servicing this debt) and confirm my transaction. They did not request any personal information from me.

I got a call on my cell from this number, as it wasn't in my contacts I didn't answer. An automated message indicated they were Care Credit and indicated that if this was (my first and last name were indicated) to please call them back. I entered the number and "Care Credit" into Google and this was the first link. As I recently went to the dentist and they opened up a line of financing, and I saw notation on someone else doing this, I went ahead and called the number back from my cell. Another automated message asked right away if this was (my first and last name), to which I indicated that was correct. It then confirmed what my dentist had told me and welcomed me to their credit financing. It gave me their hours, and asked if I had any questions. I didn't, and hung up. It's a legitimate number with legitimate intent. Glad I found the info here, or I probably wouldn't have called them back. :)

| Heather 2012-08-14 02:21:53 Unknown |
When I received a call from this number it was a perfectly legitimate call from care credit calling in regard to the account I'd just opened with them to pay for a surgery for my dog.
| Shelly Belly 2012-08-08 00:18:04 Unknown |
Even though they say credit card, it's actually a credit line. Your wrong.

For me this was a legit call from Care Credit. I recently applied for financial assistance to pay for dental and this is the company that extended me a credit line. All information checked out for me.....

They said they noticed recent activity on my credit card, I did not knew the number so didn't answer it. They left me the message. I came to check the number, and sure enough, the testimonies prove my suspicion... fraudulent people! The thing is... I DO NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARD.

I received a call from "Credit Care", but I wasn't home and they left the message. They identified me by my first and last name and said they questioned suspicious activity on my credit card. Then they mentioned a $500.00 charge to my credit card. The next statement was if I had any questions about this information or about the activity on my credit card amount then press whatever number to talk to a representative. this is when I realized it was probably freudulent. They asked me to enter the social security number of the main person on the credit card account, so I hung up.
