The point being, people should call the number on the back of their card - not just accept that the caller is "legitimate".  Too many spoofers and scammers out there to do otherwise.

Anyone saying this is fake simply didn't call them back. I got the voice mail, thought it was fake and look at my bank statement. Didn't recognize  a purchase on my card, called them and that was the one they were talking about. Closed my card for me, and now I need to go to the bank to get a new card. It was 100$ purchase that I didn't make.

This is a legit number.  They're a company that monitors fraudulent activity on credit cards issued by credit unions.  Someone tried to use my credit card number in Costa Rica, and they called me to verify the charges.  They didn't ask me anything that was out of the ordinary.  I also just spoke with my credit union's credit card department, and they verified the number as well.

Automated message supposedly from my credit union. I immediately went to the credit union website and sent a message.  Whether this is real or not -- DO NOT give out info over the phone.  Call them or email them.  I did not see this number listed on my credit unions page

The name falcon appears on the back of my credit union credit card with a different number though. It was right though I had several fraudulent purchases on my card so the immediately shut that card down. I will be at my bank tomorrow.

This number called shortly after I made three purchases with my Visa on the internet, and left a voicemail leaving a case number, and asking for a call back.  When I called back, the computer had me enter the case number, verified that it was for my Visa card at my credit union (they named the credit union, and my name), asked about each purchase, and when I hit the "1" key after each one (indicating they were OK with me), they said thank you and hung up.  I was not asked for any personal information.

It's not a scam. They are doing things for the credit card holders.

After Mother's Day shopping spree, I found my credit card blocked, and got a message from this number.  I made a return call and they were 'real' people protecting my visa card. They knew my correct name and bank account. Detailed my recent transactions and asked for last four digits of my SSN.  I gave them the last four digits. They explained that a vending machine purchase (1 dollar drink) was suspicious and blocked my card, which was true, and I confirmed it was my real transaction. Things, cleared.  I thanked them for blocking my card for suspicious transactions. Even though it caused some discomfort, still there is somebody checking the safety of my account anyway.

Received a call from this number this morning - Caller ID said "Card Svc Ctr" -  didn't answer it, since I get frequent calls which the caller ID says that, or similar to it - no message on Voice Mail.  After a bit, I decided to call the number back, to see how the phone was answered - which it was identified by "Card Servivce Center" - a recording picked up - when it said the phone call was for "my name" and from my credit union (named it right) it knd of got my attention.  When it asked for the last 4 digits of my Soc.Sec. number, I decided to hang up.  Later it called again, so this time I answered it  - when it again identified me and my credit union, I decided it might be legit...but again, didn't want to give it my last 4 digits of Soc. Sec. number - it said then it was transfering me to a live representative which it did - she then said that if I was uncomfortable with giving it to someone I didn't recognize, to call my credit union and say that the Fraud Dept. with this phone number called me - so I did call my credit union and gave them the info.  They then did verify it was legit, and when she looked up my credit card account, she said she could see a 'block' had been put on my ac't. and I'd have to call them to have it checked out - so I did.  Turns out it was 3 purchases I'd made online earlier, they wanted to verify - they were only small purchases under 5.00 each, that ended up in blocking my Visa account - got it straightened out, for which I'm glad I did - would have been very embarrassing if I tried to use my card and it was declined, for such small amounts!  They recommended I write down this phone number, so if I get a call from them again, I would know it was a legit Fraud Company hired by my Credit Union.  Down below, the "Call Type" doesn't let you choose "Fraud Alert" so I left it as "Unknown" - but it's really a legit Fraud Alert Call.

I have received three calls from this number today.  The last time the caller said this is Tom and I'm calling on behalf of your bank to verify activity on your Visa card.

This number is a scam.   My credit union has a fraud "watch dog" just as others describe here, however the big difference is that legitimate company's leave messages.   This scam fake company does not.    They are the same individuals who attempted the fraud in the first place.   The fraud company employed / contracted by my bank is professional and leave messages and check identities prior to doing any business with you.   Hope this helps.....

I received a call from this number too.
The automated system seemed buggy and thought it might have been a scam.

Called my Credit Union and they said it's a third party monitoring system they use.
My card was apparently used fraudulently.

Yes, this is a valid fraud protection number. Automated voicemail left on my phone asking
me to call back. Left a case number for me to reference. Called the number back, followed
the prompts, it was in fact a purchase that I had made. Verified it by pressing #1 and that
was it. Glad it's there, glad I called, easy! If you have a credit card, don't NOT call this
number back.

This is a legitimate number.  Received an automated call today saying my bank debit card had a couple of questionable charges and gave me a case number for reference.  First called my bank and was told the number is legitimate.  Then called the number and verified my identity (they ask only the last four digits of ssn plus address).  Two bogus charges in North Carolina (I live in Illinois).  The card was used for a credit, not a debit, so my PIN wasn't known.  This is GOOD!!  The card number was frozen and the charges reported as frauds.  Was told to call the number on the back of the card, or my bank directly.  Called the bank.  Card was immediately cancelled and a new one ordered.   Don't ignore such a call.  And don't give full ssn, etc. since an earlier poster is correct---they already have that info.

You can tell them that you are uncomfortable giving part of your ss# and they will verify with your address instead.

I did not trust this number so I first called my credit union. They vouched for this number and forwarded my call. Falcon did not ask for my full SS #, only the last 4 digits as does my CU. To me, this was not a scam. If you are suspicious, call your bank first.

They called referring to a debit card from my bank. I didn't have to give out too much info (only last 4 digits of SS) and they told me the last five transactions.  The last one was actually fraudulent. They then put a hold on the account. I called my bank afterwards to confirm this and they had put a hold on my card. 100% legit!!

Left an automated message from my credit union saying that I had a fraudulent charge on my card. Checked my account and found one so I called my credit union and got it sorted out. If you receive this message I suggest calling your credit union, not the 1-800 number.

This IS A SCAM. Just because Falcon is a legitimate company and their number comes up on your caller ID, doesn't mean it emanated from there.  Do not call the number they give you back. Call your financial institution.

I had a voicemail from them, and THEY ARE REAL.  I was suspicious so I called my VISA card people at the number on my credit card statement first, and they confirmed that someone had hacked my account, and VISA gave me this phone number to start cleaning up the mess.  So, if you get a call from these guys, don't ignore it.  If you are not sure, call your credit card company first like I did.

Got a call from this number today, it was NOT a scam! Spoke to a friendly person and I verified with my bank... they are actually a service that handles the tracking of account activity for credit unions. If you don't feel comfortable sharing your info, this department will just tell you to call your bank directly which is always a good way to handle situations like this.

I received a call (voicemail) from them at about noon today. It was an automated message. They said they were calling on behalf of my (pause) (name of my credit union) (pause) regarding recent transactions on my card; and to call them back at 800-437-9392.

I did not call them there. Instead, I called my credit union directly. I eventually got connected to a fraud detection department (I think they were part of my credit union, but I'm not sure, but it was on the same call) and they asked me what number the voicemail said to call. I told them that number (800-437-9392) and they said "yeah, that's us."

Since I got to them from calling my credit union, I think they are legitimate. I think they just fail to inspire confidence in us when they leave us that ominous message.

This is NOT phishing. Falcon Credit Services is contracted by my bank to watch fraudulent activity on my VISA. They left a professional and purposeful message WITH a case number, and gave the name of my bank. They asked for the last 4 of my social, and then asked me about three items of recent activity. All were legitimate charges, and I was able to verify them all. I did verify the company with my bank, and made the call back to them.
All was done professionally, and I appreciated the service.

This company called and left voice mail about potential fraud, and also left a case number.  Called the number and an automated system asked me to verify two recent purchases. They did not ask for my social security number, address, or anything other than the case number they left on the voicemail.

Earlier in the day, I had tried to make a purchase at a Canadian company and my card was declined, though I had earlier made a purchase locally which was approved.

Checked my online statement and saw that the Canadian purchase was indeed declined.

This is legit!

This is a legitimate number.  I received auto message.  Called my CU and was transferred to this number by them.  Turns out, they were showing 5 large-amount charges that I did not make.  Thankfully, they  caught it and had denied all.   CU was able to immediately cancel the card.

I would recommend folks who receive this message call their CU first and verify that it is okay to call; if so, call them, as the charges attempting to be made on my card were well over $1500.00!
