It's evening and I just got a call from this number and it came up MOM that is illegal. Falsly putting an individual name on it when I just got off the phone talking to my Mom. I am disabled and after the jack in my electric this winter I can't catch it up but I do pay what I can.  They need to stop being so greedy.

Ah, National Grid...I just made a payment to them yesterday, and get a call this morning.  Gotta love it...esp. when they were making my rates go up EXPONENTIALLY all winter (I had one bill of over $1000 this winter without using any more electricity than a bill that had cost me $100 3 months earlier).  They're a dirty company, and if I had the option to change in my area, I would in a heartbeat.

Actually no they will not. I was one day late and they called for the next week until the payment cleared their system as they are too stupid to see there is a pending payment.

Thank you for the information. I understand your situation. Our family was a victim of fraud & identity theft. Bank of America let whoever steal our life's savings, Never even notified me, I found out when none of my bills were paid & I was then 2 months behind & destitute. It was awful, we had to take back returnables & roll whatever change we could find. Then they kept charging me all these fee:s & over draft fee:s , even taping into my daughters account. I did everything they told me to & they only recouped 1500 dollars back & told me I had to find an attorney to help me with the rest. then they kept trying to take more & more money saying I owed all these charges< but wouldn't let me close the account. Only one lady let me put a freeze on it & open a new account which helped some but then the BOA kept trying to take all & any money I had or was able to get. AWFUL, never got my money back & it all ruined my credit. Work hard & play by the rules your whole life only to get scr-w"d. Now everything I pay with cash, too old to try & rebuild my credit. dont have the heart for it. Worst of all they keep saying I owe them all this money for credit card bills & I only had one small card. that I never used. I have faith that when the time comes to meet their maker that they will get their just reward.

I keep receive the same messsges monthly.I am very disabled&NG knows this.I receive my money every month on the 3rd&i go ito the hospital evey week for treatmeats&stay there 3 days because I get a reaction from the meds...my bill is due every 1st of the month&cant pay early. ..they have implied a 10 day grace period 2 my account for this reason,but it continues every month&thats the last thing I want 2 here ehen ur sick...under federal law they cannot continue these call 2 me but I have been nice about the whole situation however im tired of their lack of compassion over 81.27 give or take a couple$..They already rip us off enough&2 keep harassing me over this amount..o ya&i always pay by my 10 day period.....Thanx NG even my celluar company which is more gives me more time&NEVER CALLS 3XA DAY....IF I remember correctly they r still trying 2 settle a multi billion$ lawsuit 2 millions of customers they SAY is a computer error...YA RIGHT...TYVM STUCK W THIS GREEDY LYING CO.

This use to be the case for NY, now the law for the Do Not Call Reg. States that automatic calls are banded. A living person has to call or be on the phone when the call is made. Otherwise this is harassment F7.

I am getting annoying calls from this phone number.  I know it is National Grid Collections, as I have called the number back.  I have never given my cell phone number, to the company, and should never be called on it.  The only number the records show, according to a service rep, is my home phone.  How did they get my cell number, and why are they calling me?  National Grid says my account is paid, and has all of my information, except my cell.  I will be calling the Public Service Commission, about this matter.  As is seen, on this website, others are getting harassed, also.

Rude woman from national grid. Evidently when you get laid off from McDonalds you go to work for national grid collections. Collections are one of the lowest life forms. Your hatred for yourself and you job makes people not want to work with you. F****ng losers. Next time they call tell them to go f*** themselves and hang up.

They called and woke us all up this morning. I'm on automated billing. When I called the number they told me my account is all paid up to date and it must have been a computer glitch. Yea right! If it happens again I will be calling the FCC.

I phoned the Public Service Commission and they don't handle fraud complaints unless you know the name of the company committing the fraud. If you can find out the name of the company, or the name of the telemarketing firm that's making the calls, then phone them at 1-800-342-3377.

It's not National Grid. I verified that with National Grid. It's a scam operation. New York residents can report these calls to the Public Service Commission at 1-800-342-3372.

Just got this cell phone number and now I know why the previous person gave it up. I have these calls plastered all over my cell phone. I had to call National Grid and tell them to back off, so hopefully that will take care of it. I eagarly await the next creditor that calls my new number that was obviously recently owned by a deadbeat. You would think cell phone companies would retire their cancelled numbers for longer than five minutes before handing them off to unsuspecting customers.

Look if NG was a responsible company they would not subject their customers to late payment harassment. Yes it is harassment when the call comes every day two and three times a day, and the caller doesn't provide their name and company info up front and its an automated call, and to ask for personal information such as social security #'s are you kidding me! Who gives out such info to unknown callers? Not me. Watch out if you block their number they will threaten you with a continuing shutoff notice which will require you to pay the late bill and then 4 days later the most recent not even due bill within 4 days from their second shutoff notice after the first one is paid. This company is NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY and they do outsource almost everyone in that Syracuse bldg is employed with another company not NG.

What you all don't understand is sometimes people use fake numbers that happen to be other peoples real numbers...so that's how people without service get calls. Secondly not everyone there is rude..but it's tiring day in and day out that all you see is people that don't pay, or rely on the government(heap) to pay..something us as workers pay for in our taxes....Also we are NOT outsourced...we're in  the US for a couple states...majorly upstate NY.

Also like someone said, it's impossible to manually go through and remove a name from the system, but the calls stop after 24-48 hours when the system updates itself, and they can only call three times a day...if you paid your bill ignore the call, it's simple. If you didn't pay your bill, and didn't make arrangements then expect a call...its pretty simple.

Besides out of the thousands of financial statements I've done people are just really not putting money where it should go...I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten yelled at because we can't add cable or internet as an expense.

A) It's not a necessity to live.
B) You need to pay us, your electric, to even enjoy those things.
Some people really need to work on priorities and not call up screaming when THEY are the ones not paying their bills and utterly "surprised" when they get shut off.

I realize some reps are rude, and I understand...but a lot of us there are not, but we still get blindsided with people screaming and try to help them.


If you don't want calls, remove your number from there list manually by calling collections, looking up your account, and erasing both the primary and secondary number. The calls can't come with no numbers there, and if you never had national grid, simply ask the rep to pull up the account with your number on it, give them your first and last name, and they'll remove the number.

Some of these problems people call in for screaming are almost always easily solved (Leaving SOMEHOW magically owing 4,000+ dollars.) You just need to be calm and LET the rep help you....Christ.

I just wanted to comment on what you said you told you... "he was just doing his job"... Since when did it become their job to be rude to customers???  What a***oles..  I have been getting phone calls from these people and I am NOT behind in my bill what so ever.  I can not believe that I am even getting phone calls from them.  I can't wait to call them and give them a piece of my mind.  Thanks for all the info on who owns this number.

I don't live in NY.  Never have.  My utility bills are on auto-pay and are ALWAYS paid on time.

YET, these jerks have started calling my corporate cell phone number, which is based in NJ.  I live in the Midwest.  NG's system is obviously wrong and I don't need to be "understanding" toward the people that work there.  NG should not be hiding behind rude people that expect everyone else to believe they are just "doing their job" when they are harassing people that they have no reason to call.  They'll get no consideration from me if they keep calling.  I'm reporting them to the DNC registry for whatever good that will do.  AND, as someone here mentioned, as a corporate entity, they are required by FEDERAL LAW to display their correct and accurate name in Caller ID.

Don't try to defend these jerks.
