They identify themselves as 5/3 Bank and offer "income protection". I was suspicious when they asked me for the account number. In my mid, 5/3 Bank has that info so why give it to them ?
Janet - CT 2013-09-25 16:58:58 Unknown
Just had a missed call from "CROWN SAVINGS". No message was left. I do have an account with 5/3rd, which others have associated with this number. But anyone can put any phone number they want and have listed as their "caller ID".
Miss E 2013-09-05 16:56:57 Unknown
If the caller is in fact from 5/3, why do they ask for account info, etc ? On would think they would have this info. Just say no thanks.

Harassment from my bank
jc 2013-05-16 02:27:24 Unknown
This is a scam, posing as Fifth Third bank, trying to get people to give them their social security number. Stay away! I verified this with 5th3rd
jcjr 2013-05-16 02:24:21 Unknown
This number is NOT legit. I called 5th3rd's customer service, and they have no record of this number in any of their data banks, promotional or not. They said this wasn't the first time they have been asked about this number, and that it was currently under investigation by their fraud department. They said they never ask for a credit card number or a social security number when they call someone, and no legitimate institution would. Do not give these people any personal information., and report it immediately.

Got the call at 6:10 pm during supper. Ask for my husband who had left for work, would not leave a message. Would not listen when I tried to give a better time to reach him. He actually hung up on me.
So tell me , who was the rude one?

Get the Panasonic phone that allows you to block calls. I blocked their number. Not bothered on Saturday mornings anymore. :)

Crown Savings calls everyday. Never answered the call.
Janet - CT 2013-02-15 15:58:36 Telemarketer
Just be carefull. This number is legit for Fifth Third bank but scammers have used it to fake their caller ID.
If you bank with them and want to take advantage of any offer, just call the number back on your credit card, checking account,etc...
Safer that way.
Becky 2013-02-06 15:22:17 Unknown
Have received calls from this number 1x/day for the last week. Caller ID says "Crown Savings". Since I have no accounts with this agency, I did not answer and they have never left message on machine. Nuisance!

Received a call from this number and it disconnected immediately after my answering. It's not so much the marketing call, but the immediate disconnect that irritates me. And, it certainly does NOT create interest to do business with whoever is calling...their loss.

this is a business # they called and did ask for the boss by name, but wouldn't leave no message and end of story

The name "Crown Savings" appeared on our Caller ID September 27, 2012. I figured it was a typical telemarketer nonsense call, but decided to answer it all the same just because our phone has a very annoying ring. Anyway, a man asked to speak to my husband and even pronounced his name correctly which doesn't happen very often. I asked whom was calling and he stated his (so called name) rather quickly and said he was calling on behalf of 5/3rd Bank. And without pause he asked once again to speak to my husband (name). I asked him for his name again and what was the nature of his call. At this point, I could tell he was getting uptight and he repeated to ask to speak to my husband and was he available. I asked him once more and this time adamantly as to what was his name and the nature of his call, and all he would say is that it was a savings matter and that he could not speak with me about it. (WHOA - - - RED FLAG BIG TIME) So, I proceeded to say to him quite frankly; you are a ridiculous liar and a very undesirable human being and told him NOT to call here ever again and proceeded to slam the phone down in his ear. I do hope it hurt immensely. (And yes, I am normally a very kind human being.) I just don't happen to like liars and scam artists. Incidentally, when I researched the number further, I discovered that it apparently comes from two different places; one in Arkansas USA, and the other near Luckenwalde, Germany. Interesting. And yes, we too are on the Do Not Call List which seems to have some loop holes. I do believe that there are twice as many kind and honest people in this world versus mean and deceitful ones though. Just keep on your toes and don't give out personal info.

I told them to call my cell phone if there are any issues with my account not my house.
Janet - CT 2012-07-03 14:04:33 Unknown
I didn't pick up and they didn't leave a message. But it is from Fifth Third bank and I do have an account with them. I've picked up this number before. They are usually enquiring about doing a balance transfer.

Didn't know who it was but I do now! So, is it clear to everyone else that the do not call registry is not working very well? I just don't want anyone calling me if I don't know them - I don't need phone guilt because I do or do not want something.
Jeezy 2012-04-17 16:58:09 Unknown
It's funny that Fifth Third is "allowed" to call me because I'm a customer of theirs. The thing is, I never gave them my home phone number. My main and only contact info for them for YEARS has been my cell phone. But somehow they're calling my home phone asking for my info. DO NOT TRUST THIS NUMBER.
suzie q 2012-03-22 20:21:30 Telemarketer
Yes, it's Fifth Third Bank trying to sell consumer protection or something like that. It was a telemarketing call. I guess they don't consider it telemarketing if you already bank with them. A rose by another name smells the same. We are on the national do not call registry too which doesn't allow telemarketing.
Scott Taylor 2012-02-15 22:27:05 Unknown
Don't want them to call anymore.
Thelma 2012-02-07 20:35:52 Unknown
Received a call from 800-444-3620 and when you answer no one says anything. Very annoying. Why does DO NOT CALL LIST stop these calls? Usually around 4 - 5 pm.
Denise 2012-02-06 23:46:43 Unknown
Matt, Thanks for the very informative inside information. I hate these calls. Mostly because I try to answer so that I can ask to be removed from the list but people seldom answer. It's usually just a hang up from the one that called me. So frustrating.
Mary 2012-01-31 01:23:20 Telemarketer
Now I understand the call, we opened an account with 5/3 to get free points on a credit card (we used the points and put the card in the drawer) so now they must be wondering where we went....

I just wanted to throw my two cents in here. I am one who calls for fifth third bank. I work at a call center (inbound and outbound) that takes calls on behalf of fifth third and U.S. Bank. To those of you who say this is a scam, its not. I say the number 1800-444-3620 countless times on a daily basis. I'm usually calling to "sell" you on debt protection or balance transfers. Here are a few tips on how to deal with the telemarketer and not receive more than one call every six months. And I say six months cause typically that's when fifth third bank mails out their new campaign.
1. Don't hang up on the telemarketer. If you hang up on us before a sales pitch is made you're marked as a hang up and promptly returned back into the dialer to be called again. Listening to half a sales pitch and then interrupting to say not interested does not work either. To be taken off the campaign we need two legit refusals. Once the sales pitch is made we need the first no, then a no to our one and only rebuttal. Once that is accomplished you're marked as an R1 (general refusal) and taken out of the system till the next campaign.
2. Now, continuing to get these calls after giving out your refusal could mean a variety of things. You should try to be nice to the marketer. I've seen some co workers put people back into the dialer even after getting a refusal, if the customer was overtly rude to them. It's not an easy job folks, try to respect those of us who do it. We're not forcing you to purchase our product. If anything be upset with fifth third bank who contracts us to make these calls. We are normal people. There are many full time college students (like myself), husbands and wives working second jobs, and the elderly. Ooh that last one makes me sad to think what some of them put themselves through
3. Now, most of all to not receive these calls here is some very important advice. Do not provide your phone number out. Now I know the bank needs at least one working number to reach you at, however I have worked quite a bit on inbound taking U.S. bank credit card applications and there is a section called express to market. By providing a telephone number for a cellular phone or other wireless device you are expressing to receive calls at that number including but not limited too.....Does that ring a bell? Well there's your chance right there to opt out of solicitation calls by saying no I dont want to be solicited before providing your number. I know a lot of you don't do this cause when I'm taking inbound calls I only get roughly two to three people a day that say I don't want to be marketed at this number. In which case I click no to market and take down the number. All the others just give me their numbers and basically ignore everything I said about expressing to market, in which case I click yes to consent since I was never told no to market. *Side note, in all my outbound sales I've only had one person say no to the express to consent which was funny since I was marketing her.* The National Do Not Call List, does not prohibit the bank from calling you either. A lot of people seem to not know that. It never did and it never will. The best way to avoid the bank from calling you is to say no to express to consent. Or when you do receive the call ask to be put on the do not call list. This is different than the National Do Not Call List as this will take you off current and future fifth third campaigns. ;)
All in all just wanted to throw some advice out there. I really dislike calling anyone and upsetting them but at the same time its a flexible job for someone as busy with school as myself. And it pays better than most jobs I've ever had. Oh and before I forget never pick up the phone and say hola. Because true spanish speaking people pick up the phone and say bueno. ;) I had someone do that to me today and I new it was fake right away. Not to mention the name was very American lol. Oh well just threw her to be called back by a spanish speaking person. :P ......

I got a call this evening and my answering machine picked up. Unfortunately the Fifth Third recording was already playing-back so the first part of their message was not recorded. The voice on their recording promised to call me back--as if multiple annoying calls would be fruitful. If it was Fifth Third bank, they are annoying telemarketing scum. If it was not Fifth Third Bank, then why doesn't Fifth Third have the culprits prosecuted? Goodness knows Fifth Third has enough lawyers on their payroll and they have enough economic power. Either way, we are seeing the true colors of Fifth Third.
