My loan Used to be with Chase Home loans..and I was going thru a home modification for 2 1/2 years with them...then about the time it finally went to Underwriting they sold my account to Ocwen in April of 2012. I had hoped that this would be something more timely..but they have found everything under the Sun to call me back on and tell me I was missing something or they didn't understand something...or I didn't sign the bottom of something.
I think the entire Home Modification is an absolute farse and I need a real, true Official that actually has some PULL or influence to lend me a hand on this home that I have owned sine 1996 to assist me with the run around.
When I started this modification in 2008 Jan, I was 4 payments behind due to the economy. I made 2 different downpayments with Chase, and then 5 "Trial" payments..(which later chase told me that they don't even do any longer) then when Obama took over I was told to make NO more payments. My Modification would be forthcoming. That was over 2 years ago. I'm presently 50 payments behind and STILL waiting on a Modification with yet another company...OCWEN!
Can you believe it. I think the whole thing is a ripoff.

ANNOYING, they start calling on the 1st for your payment...that has a 16 day grace period...call all day long, have told them to look at my history...NEVER have I  not paid them.  I started keeping documentation of dates and times because I told them eventually someone will file a lawsuit against them because at a certain point it becomes harassment..ESPECIALLY when you've already spoken to someone and they still call....UGH...and learn ENGLISH!  PFFFFT

If OCWEN calls, please answer them.  In 2010, my mortgage was purchased by OCWEN.  At the time, I was behind in my mortgage but had an arrangement with my previous mortgage company.  I received a letter saying that my mortgage was purchased by OCWEN.  I will make a long story short- within one month OCWEN started the foreclosure action on my house because I did not call them back.  I stopped it and kept my house BUT learned a valuable lesson.  DO NOT dodge creditors that can take your stuff.  OCWEN has been fairly easy to work with and will not bother you if you contact them first with a plan or at least let them know what your situation is.  I modified my mortgage and everything is OK now.  If they call you- CALL THEM BACK.

Even though this post is REALLY old, the person is INCORRECT. I used to WORK at Ocwen & it most certainly is located on Ingenuity Drive. Most of the other posts are correct though. They are a SHADY company and should be SHUT DOWN!!!!

Yes it is Ocwen, The biggest scam artist loan services out there. Today is July 13 2011, I am over current on my home loan. I receive a blank call 6-7 times a day. I also came home last Friday to see a white piece of paper Duck Taped to my new Front door that I just installed that only stated FORECLOSURE call 1 800 446 2936. I called and they stated it was a mistake but still are receiving the calls plus I received this months statement with a $10.50 fee for the duck taped letter that messed up the new paint on my front door. Statement shows I owe ZERO!!! by 07/01/2011 being I've overpaid being this crappy India company has been scamming me from the get go. I SWEAR THEY ARE USING THE FALL IN THE USA ECONOMY TO STEAL HOUSING FOR THERE FAMILIES!!!. THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE PEOPLE. IM A MONTH AHEAD AND STILL DEAL WITH THE TREATS WITH DUCK TAPE FALSE PAPERS STUCK TO MY FRONT DOOR, AND PHONE CALLS ALL DAY EVERY DAY FROM THIS NUMBER AND FOREIGN NUMBERS. WHERE IS DATELINE WHEN YOU NEED THEM??? I have owned my home since 2000 and have never been behind, Ive had Taylor Bean, Bank of America, Citygroup, and Now these scaming clowns Ocwen. Ive contacted my attorney and he states I have a case. So we shall see. Where is the government when you need them. These threads on this Company are all over the place, being Im finally trying to do something myself, Ive searched for another solution to keep the home I have that Im ahead of the payments on. Obama Help I needed to stop these foreign scam artist.

The call comes infrom this number and when I answer its an automated message to call this number.  I call it back to have them remove me from their list because I DON'T have a loan thru them nor want one but none of the options are to speak to a live operator.  Instead they keep asking me to enter an account# or ssn.  As I dont have an account thats impossible and I am not going to get some company my SSN.  This sorta thing drives me insane and I will just continue to track their calls and report them to the federal donotcall folks who will fine them every time they do for this.

This is Ocwen .  They are a loan servicer for many mortgage companies and are ignorant, rude, indifferent, and every other obnoxious name you could come up with.  The call repeatedly.  Best thing to do....change your phone number as they are totally automated and most calls are outsourced outside the United States so getting a human to cooperate is impossible.  They will call you numerous times every day regarding any mortgage payment

I get calls from this number 7-8 times a day! My home has been paid off for several years and I have never used OCWEN for anything! When I answer there is no one on the other end, or it just hangs up. Talk about frustrating and pissing me off!  Who are these knuckleheads harrassing me all day and even on Sundays they call!  I add them to call block and it stops for a couple of weeks, then another number appears so I add it to call block also...now I have 7 numbers added from these jerks! STOP CALLING ME FOR THE LOVE OF PETE!!!  I'm thinking seriously about changing my number but I've had this number for years and everyone knows it but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do something that you really do not want to do. OCWEN needs to pull their collective heads out of their collective a***s!

If you're getting calls once or twice a month, you are lucky. They call me multiple times each day! That despite having promised me that my number was taken off their calling list. I have had this number about 1 1/2 years. The calls from Ocwen are for the woman who previously had the number. Ocwen was informed of that fact just after I started using the number. Now, they have increased the frequency of the calls. I finally threatened them, saying I would make harassment charges if they don't stop calling me.

I've been getting the same message lately about a "change in the status in my account." I ignored them for awhile, then finally googled it and found the info on this site. I called Saturday morning and worked my way through the phone tree to the option that says "If you are a Ocwen customer but don't have this information (my full SSN and the property zip code) press 2." I was not about to enter my full SSN. I spoke with someone almost immediately. She asked for an account number and I told her I didn't know what the calls were about. She said they were a mortgage service firm and asked if I had a mortgage with Ocwen. I told her I had mortgages but not with Ocwen. She rattled off a couple of other companies that they service mortgages for, but none of them were mine. She offered to have my number taken off the call list and asked for the number they had been calling. When I gave it to her, she said "Just to verify, you don't own a property at XXX ABC Street in Anyplace, CA?" I said no, and she told me my number would be off the list by tomorrow and I shouldn't receive any further calls. It was really pretty easy. So far (only a week) no calls, and I was getting 2 or 3 a week, so maybe it actually worked.

They left a message that says, "This is Ocwen calling to notify you of a change in the status of your account."  I previously had a mortgage with HomeQ which was sold to Ocwen 2 months ago.  I've already made 2 payments to Ocwen on time and I am current.  I called the number 800-446-2936 and got their automated system which had my mortgage information and showed my account current.  They left the message on a Saturday.  I called the number right back and after going through all the automated menus to try to get to a live operator to find out why they were calling me I got a recording that said they are closed on Saturday and I should call back on Mon-Fri.  So why do they call me on Saturday then?

Just got one of these calls this evening, 800-446-2936. As the other person mentioned I could not really understand who they said they were.  They said they were Aqua or Opera, and they were calling about a change in the status of my account. I called the number, and I still couldn't understand what who they said they were, but they did say they were a debt collector.

So I goggled the number to find out who they were. Ocwen, and Ocwen is my mortgage servicing center
I am not behind in any payments, always make my payments ahead of time, doubled checked to make sure the checks had been cleared.  Always before, if there was a change of some sort, they sent me a
enclosure with the statement.  So I appreciate the heads up on the social security stuff, and account number.

Got 3 calls over about 1 hour at my office. Same recorded message each time.
"Please Hold. I am calling with an important message, hold one moment please... I am calling with an important message, hold one moment please."

The first two times I waited to speak with someone for ~ 5 minutes, no one was there, so I finally hung up. The third time I decided to wait until someone picked up, so I could get their phone number and info. Someone picked up a little quicker this time. His name was Brevadon and he asked to speak to some guy named Richard. (I don't know any Richards.) I told him, "May I ask who is calling?" And he again said, "May I please speak with Richard." I said, "You need to tell me your name and phone number." He finally gave it to me. (I don't have caller ID at my desk) So the number he claimed to be calling from was 1-800-446-2936. I explained I needed the info because they had called me 3 times at work, and there is no Richard here. He said "Thank you for the info." and promptly hung up before I could tell him to take me off their list.

You need to call them back and work out your payments QUICK!  Ocwen is a company known for screwing people over.  Do your research.  If I were you, I'd refinance through a reputable bank or other mortgage institution.  Ocwen is a loan servicer, the do no own your loan, but they act like they do and will take your home away!!!

Got a call from them for the first time today, pre-recorded message to call back. I did receive a letter a month or so ago from my mortgage lender - Downey Savings - stating the servicing of the loan was now with Ocwen. I am two months behind on my mortgage payment, so the call seems legitimate. I have not called them back yet.

They just bought my mortgage from my old lender I found out after 6 phone calls of them asking for my SS.They call themselves Auqua something I could not understand their ascent, but it did not line up with the letter I received from old company so I kept hanging up on them thinking it was a scam. My next payment is not do for 2mnth anyways so on there recording kept saying they were a debt collecting company and than I asked what it was for they said they could not talk to me only my husband. OS I told them if they are our new mortgage company they should have my husband phone number.I called my attorney general office and turned them in, I owe them nothing and do not deserve this harassment. They want info write me a letter like all the other companies have had when my mortgage is bought.
