I received a call from this number to my cell phone. I have been on the 'do not call' list since its inception, but that seems to be working out well. They left a voice mail (voice had an accent -Spanish?) She says her name is 'something' (I couldn't hear through her thick accent) Thompson with U.M.B. bank and it was important she receive a call back at 1-800-459-9170, and that number is for the AARP Life Insurance Program. Another scam.

Caller said she was Donna Suffix from UMB bank and I needed to call back about an important matter. I'm tired of getting calls from scammers. I am on the do-not-call national list and the only way they are supposed to call is if you have an account with them and I don't!

Called and said "this isTesla Spriggs, I need to call them right away, very important."

1. I do not use this bank.
2. I have NO overdue accounts anywhere.

BEWARE, this might be a scam!

I happened to call (a different #) for my credit card on another matter and they answered as "UMB". In talking to him he said the card was sold to UMB (Bank). So I then called 800-449-9170 and spoke w/ Jeff C who stated the # is the Deliquency Dept, but for some reason they shouldn't have called b/c my acct is not in arrears or anything. Also they don't report anything until a cardholder is 60 days late. So no one could answer WHY the computer called.

Just got a call from 800-449-9170 with automated caller (american voice) stating my full first and last name and then "identified" itself as UMB (what's UMB, I thought?) saying it's not a sales call, regarding a personal matter and reconfirmed the number I need to call back 800-449-9170. I'm on the Do Not Call registry too and still got this. Sounds like a scam. I went to the UMB site and their contact listing is https://www.umb.com/AboutUMB/ContactUs/Personal/GeneralCustomerService/000422 (which doesn't have the # I was told to call)

More importantly I searched the BBB for the phone number and this comes up: http://www.bbb.org/us/Find-Business-Reviews/phone/800-449-9170/

I keep getting calls, they say it's UMB Bank.  The voice mail says it's not a sales call.  From the posts above, it may be my QT account which I'm current on.  So not sure why they are calling.  The message just says it's an extremely important "personal matter."  I don't want to call back not knowing why/who this call is about.

They called my Mother, got her to pay them over the phone,  $280 in late payments and guess what. She doesn't even have an account with them. Her bank took care of it for her, and said it was going around really bad. This is a scam....

QT card...apparently I missed a payment. OOPS  They waved my late fee $20 by paying the min payment immediately. It is a legit number as I did get my statement yesterday and somehow forgot to pay it last month. Such is life :)

I have informed this company several times that I have an attorney for my creditors. They have also received notice of this from the law firm and yet they still call my home. I know this is violating the fcc regulations. The law needs to follow up on these collection companies that continue to harass you after they have been advised to only call your attorney

Good postings.. Same kind of illusive message left on cell phone. Interesting though; I don't have an account with this company that I now know to be (UMB Bank) -> First clue something doesn't sound right..Second clue; they boast of their approval by congresssman Barney Frank. I would stay away; very far away from this Co. if you have a choice. Call from a pay phone if you dare call this company.

If I am not mistaken Harassment is illegal in the USA or maybe that is only for the public, Banks, Insurances and the like are of course above the law. They have even proved it, time and again. I want to know who to contact to take action against these Harassment businesses. There are many and they call up twice a day or more often. Does anyone think that things will change in just a few hours or that just because you harass them enough they will magically win the lotto? That such companies exist show the depths our Finacial institutes are not only willing go to, but eagerly embrace as an acceptable practice. Not everyone is a dead beat and no one deserves to be treated like that.

They called left message about "urgent something", but not what. Sounded funny, thought what the hell. Called and they immediately asked for personal data. "Whaooo nelly, Who is the UMB anyway before I give up the farm"? They would not answer, stating that was confidential!!! "Confidential my a**,if you want personal info from me you are going to have to answer a few questions Bubba, this sounds like a qualified scam to me".

After reading this page I see that I forgot to pay my Credit Card Payment and am over due by 12 days. Whoa is me, I shall be stoned in Hell for a thousand years as payment. There are names for people who, as I see, hunt and harass unfortunates (and I am just a little late).

I have gotten 2 calls fom this number. I have also gotten a call from 800-927-2291. That one I at least got to select option 2 from the list to prevent any callbacks.... supposively. There is a recording that says its is an important call and is not a solicitation. It then goes on and asks you to call a number back and is very urgent. The name that comes up on the ID is Toll Free Call.
I have had the happen earlier this year and it was some company oprating out of the Philipienes trying to offer protective services on your credit cards. From what I am getting this is another one of those places where everyone getting called is getting different information. Unfortunatly they are not offering any information this time... just to call them back.
