Got an email from telling me to call this number,  They referenced the last four digits of an account that doesn't match any of my accounts,  I only have assets with the bank, no debts.   I called the customer service number that I confirmed to be Wells.   They confirmed that this was a phishing email,  Do not give any personal information to these people.  If you get an email, that doesn't make sense claiming to be WF, send it to reportphish@wellsfargo.com

Have recieved several calls from this phone number on my mobile phone, but it only rings twice before the call is disconnected.  I called the number back today and found out if was Wells Fargo.  I do not have a Wells Fargo account.  Spoke with "Angelica" and explained that I've been getting hang ups from their company on my mobile phone but that I do not have any accounts with Wells Fargo.  Angelica took my phone number down and then told me that it has been added to their do not call list.  We'll see if that happens.

If you pay your bills, you won't recieve any calls.. The economy isn't the best and it's hard.  If you listen to them, they will help you.  They set me up on a payment program to help me get it paid off in a good amount of time. So STOP BITCHING!

I have explained.  They have no choice but to make the call and make the collection.  I understand.  I won't borrow again once I'm out of this.  They've always been nice to me, but explain they cannot stop the calls.  Although, they should heed the Lord's Day and not call on Sunday.

I have both Droid Blocker and Reverse Lookup which will allow you to block and send the call directly to voicemail.  It is how I have kept my sanity while I catchup and pay them off.  A borrower nor a lender be...wish I had headed those words years ago.  if you've got a droid phone, the apps are free. Hope it helps someone.

I've tried talking to them several times, and have gotten nowhere!! Sure, they have every right to call, but the rudness and repeated calls is uncalled for. I've deal with others collecting from me, and have worked things out, (Citibank, M&T, etc.) but these callers from Wells Fargo are something else. Now they have gotten my work number, and continuously call, even after I have worked out payments! That's harassment!!! By the way, I have worked at my manufacturing job for about 8 years, we all took pay cuts to hold off layoffs, and my wife had reduced hours. We thought we were finacially stable, payed our bills on time, but tough times are just that......TOUGH! Our whole familly is hard working, and we don't deserve this kind of disrespect!!

I DID answer the phone, I DID attempt to tell them I had been in touch & was speaking with my banker & the situation was resolved-I was never given the chance. His-whoever 'HE' is, these were his exact words-"You've been avoiding us 'till now, so why would I beleive you? I have about as much chance of beleiving you as my A**!!!"
And-he hung up.

Any 'rules about this, or are we doomed to be thee whipping posts while they are the 'Banking Bullies'?

This is Wells Fargo Financial Bank collections department calling you to tell you that your payment is late & in collections. You can set up a payment with them, even if it's a post dated check. Once you set up the payment, they will stop calling.

I got tried of them calling me so I set the selective call forwarding feature on my phone so that it forwards all of their calls to our non-emergency police department number. They can explain to them why they keep harassing me.
I've told them repeatedly that they have the wrong number, I've never had any dealings with wells fargo bank.

I told them I had already paid the payment, the check had cleared, but they still call. Dozens of times a day while I am at work. My kids tell them to stop calling, I am at work. They still have my number on their autodialer.
Sad, I wil change my number because of them. Then they have nothing to harass me with but the mail.

I keep getting obscene calls of sorts from this number, leaving messages like... Sometimes there is a sound of a bag rattling (perhaps potato chips.) Another time silence, I could hear something in the background but could not make it out. Then someone who sounded drunk or on something who said, "Haaaiiiii...," silence and then hang up.

Who are these crazy people doesn't their employer know that they are making these calls to people? They should be fired! I don't have time to answer these calls. Only one time, did I get a call from someone who actually left a name but never stated what they were calling about or from what company, just, "This is Lisa, call me back at 800-541-9849." I do not answer blocked & toll free #'s and let them go to voice mail as they are solicitors!

I receive over 13 calls a day (from 7am - 11pm - 7 days a week), sometimes they leave messages. I have told them repeatedly they are calling an incorrect cell phone number, but they continue to call.

I receive upwards to 15 calls sometimes a day.  My husband was in an          and has been unable to work.  I have been paying them something every two weeks to let them know I want to pay my bills.  I talked to a rep about it and he told me to do the best I could and when my husband got back to work, then we could make a double payment to catch up.  He also told me that he would stop the calls.  Two days later the calls started again.  I answered and explained the situation again and what the previous customer rep had told me.  This      told me that he erronious that they could stop the calls.  I told her I could only pay what I was paying, when I was paying.  I couldn't do anymore until next month.  The very next day, I received 6 calls from them.  What was different about one day to the next...I still had no money.

These crazy people called me today at 6:46am!  I don't even have an account with them.  When they called two days ago, I asked them politely to stop calling.  Today I asked to speak to a supervisor, who said, "Oh, I think we got signals crossed," when asked why they are calling me at 6:46 in the morning.  What?  How is harrassing a family who doesn't do business with you and breaking the law of not soliciting before 9am "crossed signals"?  When I asked him what the heck that meant, he couldn't answer me.  And that was the guy who claimed to run the place, named Tim in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota office.  I asked him for Wells Fargo Financial's headquarters where I could file a formal complaint and he would not give me that information, telling me instead to write HIM a letter complaining about HIS office.  What a joke!  Then he whined that he "didn't deserve" having to take the complaint. WAAAAH!  So your office calls someone who doesn't even do business with you at 6:46 in the morning and YOU'RE not being treated fairly?  What an idiot!  I will never, ever do business with Wells Fargo Financial, ever!

I work for the very department you are all complaining about. I can tell you once your account goes delinquent we will try to contact you to work out a payment plan if you are struggling or simply set up a payment if you have forgotten.  By law we can call from 8am to 9pm up to 5 times a day unless we reach our customer. Then we cannot call back for 24 hours to collect again.  Wghich usually we wait 5 days. So instead of getting on a website and bitching about calls. Go out and pay your bills or even better answer your phone and explain your situation about why you have failed to pay your bill on time.  Take responsibility for your own actions.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to work at a bank in order to make a living.  It's not there fault that they have corrupt upper manager.  If I worked for a bank I would never admit to it.  I have one payment left on my Wells Fargo account and I would never do business with them again.  Its time to break up the big banks and end mergers of banks.

"Actually the FDCPA says no more than 10 calls to any one number"

I'd like you to provide a link to that information.

From my research, the Act does not mention a specific number but it DOES PROHIBIT "Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously".

So,with a decent interval between calls, say, two hours minimum, then about six calls per day would be the maximum allowed.

i got a new phone number and they won't stop calling me. i would pick up and say hello and then hear an automated voice tell ME to wait on the line. I hung up several times. finally I picked up when someone actually said HELLO back and they were looking for someone else who had ( must have had) this number before me. Even though I have told them SEVERAL times to stop calling me because this is no longer his phone number, they still call. will be calling the Better Business Bureau or anyone that can hear me out and have them stop calling me as it's cheaper than changing my number AGAIN.

I beg to differ. I attempted to call them after having majory surgery and losing a baby. Explained my situation, and as always, they were less then helpful. Told me there were no "plans" that I could take advantage of, and to simply pay what my normal bill was.

Curby: I don't think you're the devil others might think you are and I do understand you have to look at everything completely objectively so you can do your job w/o your emotions getting in the way. The creditor took a gamble on already shaky income in some cases and is now discovering it was a bad move. It's not all so one-sided; it's not all black & white.  Both parties took a risk. While you?re in denial consider the fact that for many it?s a choice between heat and food for their children or paying your company. Be grateful for what you have and how well organized you are and pray that nothing shatters your perfect budget and life-plan and that you don't have to chew away at your savings or borrow to stay afloat. Remember if you don?t get good Quality Monitoring Scores you could be on the other end? Karma Curby, karma.
BTW, 605-782-5065 and 360-885-4395 are also WF.

He he he
I realy find it amusing that all these large companies took taxpayer money to bail themselves out, including Wells Fargo who used the money to buy up another bad bank Wachovia.
It's funny that they want their money even when you don't have it, but won't give out loans or do any refinancing to help their customers out, but yet will pay super large bonuses to their employees...
It's all a big money racket.
These big companies should have never been bailed out by the government.
It would be completely hysterial if everyone left these banks high and dry.

This is true concerning the FDCPA, however the original creditor is covered by the laws and rules of the FTC and state laws. (In my state that is 3 calls per week max).
The collectors at Wells Fargo and other businesses should be required to learn these laws in order to prevent large fines being imposed because of their ignorance.
