It's a customer service line for companies that use HSBC. If you call the number back, like I did, they will take you off of the telemarkting phone list.

They calling everyday, so annoying..
Earl 2011-04-20 19:21:51 Unknown
Wouldn't it be nice to get the home phone number (of the boss) of these creeps who keep calling us? And as they change their number (to avoid our millions of annoying phone calls) their new home phone number be reposted so we can annoy them some more---like they do us!
Would't it be nice to just answer our phones without worry of the call not being from family, or at least someone of importance to us?

I AM GETTING 2 OR 3 CALLS DAILY FROM THIS COMPANY. I HAVE TOLD THEM SEVERAL TIMES I AM NOT THE PERSON THEY ARE LOOKING FOR, THAT THERE ARE 4 OF US IN THIS STATE AND I KNOW THAT 1 MOVED TO NY SEVERAL YEARS AGO. IAM NOT RELATED TO ANY OF THEM.

do what i do and get a google voice number. i never give out my cell number ... just the google one. that way i can easily ignore the calls since the number that comes through will be my google number. I have all google calls go straight to google voice mail, and have it set so that most of the calls go to my email.

Anyone reading this: DO NOT EVER CALL ANY OF THE COLLECTION AGENCIES BACK. THAT IS CONSIDERED AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT WHICH RESETS THE 7 YEAR, 5 YEAR OR 4 YEAR STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS OF HOW LONG THEY CAN CALL. THE FACT THAT IT IS WITH AN AGENCY MEANS THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR SOLD OFF YOUR ACCOUNT AND MORE THAN LIKELY WRITTEN YOUR ACCOUNT OFF. JUST DON'T ANSWER OR DON'T CALL BACK. YOUR ACCOUNT MAY BE SOLD MANY TIMES SO EITHER CHANGE YOUR NUMBER OR GRIN AND BEAR IT. I JUST KEEP MY RINGER TURNED OFF AND CHECK EVERY HOUR OR SO FOR REAL MESSAGES OR CALLER-ID. ALSO THERE IS NOT A PERSON BEHIND THE CALL UNTIL YOU PICK IT UP. THESE ARE JUST COMPUTER GENERATED CALLS.

I also received a phone call from this number. While I do not pick up 800 #'s, by calling the number back, I found this was HSBC, offering a promotion. I called the number back and with a few prompts I was able to remove my number. It may take up to 30 days. We shall see.
Cheryl 2011-02-18 17:27:44 Telemarketer
Call the number back and choose Option 2 to be removed...says it may take up to 30 days to remove your number. You don't even talk to anyone. It is all automated. Very easy!

Constantly calling and hanging up when they get the answer machine they are driving me mad! I am seriously thinking of getting rid oft landline.
Nikki 2011-02-11 21:47:36 Unknown
I did the same thing, I called the number back and used the automated system to key in the number I wanted removed- it says it may take "up to 30 days to remove you from our telemarketing database."
30 Days?! I've been getting 4-5 calls a day from 7pm-10pm for a couple weeks already, it's driving me mad. I know they're exempt from the "Do Not Call" list because I did used to have an active HSBC card, but this just seems a little much.

My husband told them we were not interested on Saturday when he answered the phone. We got tired of the phone ringing 5 times or more a day.
Well, it's Monday and they are still calling. Oh my goodness. I am at my wits end! I opted out today since I found this site. Let's see what happens.

I am getting calls from this number 2-3 times each day. When we answer, their is no one answering us. I give them a three count and hang up. Thank you all for the helpful information. I will be giving them an ear full too.

I also reported this number. They never give up. They have been told nicely but that doesnt work. So annoying, they call so many times a day and at night. We do not answer 800 numbers or un identified numbers and have a message stateing that but it doesnt stop them. They just keep calling and harassing people. There should be a way to stop this. Once you have told them to stop calling they should not be allowed to keep harassing people for no reason.
I guess we will see if they remove us I called the number and followed the prompts to have this number removed.

Emerson 2011-01-18 17:05:58 Unknown
are you kidding me?They call all day long and fill up my caller id. I never pick up 800 numbers.....Unless it show an identification...but I read these posts the other day and I'm glad I did....today they called at 10:13 PM!!!!!! I picked up and gave him/Her a piece of my mind.......how dare they call that late at night. Everyday these people call and refuse to leave a message on my answering machine so why should I answer the call when they don't have the courage say something or have their name visible on my caller-ID

HOWEVER, I DO NOT NEED YOUR CALLS. WHETHER IT IS IN DAY OR NIGHT. NEVER.
DO NOT CALL ME. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

They call 5 - 7 times each day!! Called the number back and got a recording to call the HSBC customer service at # listed on statement to possible lower APR as low as 6.9%. Agent at HSBC said they have received a lot of complaints on this number and to NOT answer it because it is not affiliated with them. APR adjustments only come in form of a letter.

Called here at 7 am this morning. I didn't think they could call this early. Been calling 2 or 3 times a day. I don't answer 800 numbers either. This is really becoming a pain. Will try the opt out thing. Hope it works.

Finally. *whew* I actually called the customer service number listed at their web site and talked with a nice young lady. Explained what was happening and she said she would take my number out of their system immediately. I'll believe it when I don't get any further calls from them, but she was polite and understood where I was coming from which was NOT a good place!
So, the number you all need to call is 888-385-8916 (found at their website which is http://www.hsbccreditcard.com). Hope this helps y'all! I'll post again if they ever call again... so hopefully you won't see me here in the future. :)

Keeps calling, many, many times a day. I work the night shift and they have woken me many times. Since I don't talk to numbers that don't list their name ID, if I answer, I tell them I'm not here and they try to find out a better time to call, which I never give them. I looked the number up online and found that the number is linked to HSBC CC telemarketing. I'm very upset that I can't leave my phone on for emergency calls, but must cut my ringer off to get a good rest before I have to work again!

These people call me at least twice a day. Thanks to all who have posted. Now I know who's calling and not leaving a message. Hope they stop calling soon.
