I think it is great what St. Jude's does but they should not stoop to the telemarketer mentality. A lot of people detest these calls regardless if they are beneficial. No phone chat and/or giving account information over unsecure phone lines.

I haven't donated to them since they sent a donation "request" instructing me to fill in the names and phone numbers of ten friends. Yes, because I love to pimp out my friends to arrogant and demanding sounding charity requests.  So this is a new tact with them, phoning. Hung up on them and will continue to do so.
I donate to good causes and St Jude's is a good cause, but like another here said, I will donate on my terms and schedule, not theirs.

Charities are exempt from the national do-not-call registry EXCEPT if you tell them to put your # on their do-not-call list. They have to honor your request to stop calling. If not, report them on the registry website.

What they are doing now is outsourcing their telemarketing to companies who robocall for numerous charities. You have to tell that company to put you on their do-not-call list for ALL charities they represent. Get the company name so you can report them if they call again after you tell them to stop.

BTW, asking these charities to stop calling on this website or others like it, is pointless. They don't monitor these sites. These sites are so people can share info on notorious robocalling telemarketer scumbags.

You guys DO realize that not only do they NOT read these, that when you write "don't call our number" they don't know what *your* number is, right?  You're just getting yourselves frustrated, and making yourselves look dumb.  Block the number, it isn't rocket science, although for some of you it may be.

I make donations locally--don't call me.

Not only am I on a "no call" list I have TOLD St.Jude telemarketers DO NOT CALL ME - I explained that we donate what we can, when we can.  
Apparently the TELEMARKETERS do not care about the children or they would respect the donator's wishes.  
I will make my donations to a different charity from now on - there are plenty out there to choose from!
