I got a call from these people from phone number 980-365-8858. I figure they cannot be legitimate. No "law firm" has to call people to verify an address for a "required notice." I don't owe anything that I am not paying on and my address is easily found in my credit report. My instincts were not to trust these people and not to call them back. Reading other posts here, it is obvious they are engaging in illegal debt collection practices.

I have been receiving calls from 407-549-1223, and 407-549-6823 and 407-549-4531.
I do not want these calls, and have no outstanding debts for anyone to collect, so if this is a debt collector, they have no legitimate reason to call my number. My number is listed in the Do Not Call cell phones  system, so these calls are illegal.

Getting calls from a Dallas number 214-919-0472.  They answer Evans Law Offices.  They are calling a prepaid cell phone # that I have had over 7 years.  I have received calls from a jillion bottom feeders looking for this party who either had this number at one time or gave it as his number.

When they call & you try to speak to someone you get a recording to hold, then they hang up.  When you call the number same thing happens.  I will be filing a complaint with Texas AG.

I called QAR 1-866-778-0624 who said they were a "sister company".  He claimed not to be able to find my phone number in their records.

Dear Friends:

IEvans Law Associated, is a firm the with the worst reputation on the Street. The "BETTER BUSINESS BEAURU" gave them an "F" Grade for Business practices. If this collection Agency ever contacts you. Make sure you let them know that unless you do not received a letter in writing, you will not speak to them. These guys are the lowest of the low. The individuals this company hires never go throught a training program and do not event know what your "RIGHTS ARE'. The attorney involved and his team use illicit techniques to gather information on you in order to "BLACKMAIL" or "COHERSE" you into providing with your private information in order to gain accesss to your bank account so they can, without your permissiona access your accounts.  Any legitimate company will sent you a formal letter before "EVER CONTACTING YOU".  A friend, worked for this company, and told me that this is basically the worst time of company ever created.  Do not speak to Anyone from this Company. If this company harrases you contact a Free Attorney.

If you know some who has worked for this Company let me know. I am working on an NBC report on "Collection Agencies" like this one, Please provide me with a contact e-mail for you.

Thanks.

No one can put a hold on your bank account but a Court of  Law. Who are you b***s***ting??? If anything if it were not a SCAM you would go to Court and a Judgement would be aganist you should a Judge di that.

Do you work for these people???? Any Bank knows the law only by Court Order can any one put a hold on your Bank account. This is a civil matter not a criminal matter.

Did you go to Court?
Did a Judge approve a  Judgement?
Were your wages garnished?

Thats the only way anyone can get funds from you.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.  You might want to check his credentials with the Attorney General in New York and with the Federal Trades Department.  You will find his listings numerous times. I will be filing with them shortly if I did not have other dealings like him that are more important. However to summarize him up for you in a couple of short sentences I caught him in lies, he dinged my sisters credit report when she had nothing to do with me and we refused to play his game, I called up chase bank (which I have no dealings with and he claimed I did) and went to their legal department. They were fired and they were afraid of a law suite. He called my 90 year old mother and sister after he had already contacted me breaking a federal law, dinged my sisters credit report, federal law, and threaten me on the phone federal law. He also told me that (I would be surprised what he could do to me.) Oh by the way, the account he told chase I owed was cleared years ago from another firm in a bankruptcy court.

So this means "YOU GOT SCAMMED!" Your debt had probably already been removed and you didnt notice and now when you call the credit company you just think you paid but it is not so. So you got scammed for $3,500 right up under your Own nose. Call ANY Attorney and give them this story and they will laugh, laugh, and laugh at you. These people violate Every law known to man. Damn I wish I was on the other end of the phone that day, I would've made some money. It doesnt take a rocket scienctist to order a credit card machine, collect payments from strangers over the phone and send out fake documents for proof of payment to your home address...SMH-:( Hope life is good for you though...ijs

I believe you may want to check your grammar/spelling prior to responding to complaints. In your message you used your instead of the correct conjunction you're. However, you were correct in your assessment of
one should pay what they owe. In the case of this agency; they are not always contacting the proper debtor, not removing phone numbers not associated with the debtor, and totaling ignoring provable facts. As a retired judge, I am very concerned with an attorney being associated with such a collection agency. Maybe going back to school Gia would help you in corresponding.

Debt Collector
We recieved a call tonight from Sir Jimmy Johnson claiming to be from Evans Law Associates and Evens Esquire. He also gave the file number and was referring to a three year old debt. He was very nice for the fisrt 20 minutes while he rambled on about why he was calling, who he was calling for, the numbers to reach them at, the NYC bar a**. # etc. I fell for it! Then hubby decided to look up the info...Jimmy is fake! No NYC bar # exists and nor does Jason Evens. Jimmy was smoozing me and telling me his life story in how he's a grandfather of 2 and a retired sheriff deputy in NY. He said he understood our situation and then hit us with the "we need a credit card # or debit #". I refused and said that I needed to call him back tomorrow to see if we could coe up with the funds. He then started getting nasty and not letting me talk. He stated that an address(my moms) that "3" different creditors sent a collection letter to has been valid for over 3 years and he has proof of it. Hmmmm not true! The address has only been valid for about a year AND (since the debt was in hubby's name) I havn't even known my husband for three years!  He thought he had us. At this point he is now raising his voice at me and telling me I'm violating all kinds of statues and that he is violating his employers policy if he doesn't get a confirmation with account number. So I then decide to say "This call is being recorded to insure compliance with federal law." He then yelled at me and told me that he has had enough and that he will not help me. I then repeat the quote and ask him for the Attorney info and all of his info, he yelled at me again saying the attorneys name and bar # then asked when I would get back to him and he then hung up on me. Soooo the moral of the story...Jimmy Johnson is working the Evans scam and is not in complience with federal law. He was not nice once I started questioning him. His biggest mistake, not having all the facts when calling, RED FLAG when he gives an invalid address from 3 years ago... debtor 1- I mean Jimmy- scam someone else. Oh and his phone number was 321-455-3086 and gave call back # of 855-865-7691 x111

I wish my sister would have seen this site first...but luckily for her...she has a sister like me :)

This company called my sister out of the blue...6months prior she graduated from school and they called saying she owed money and she had to pay up. My sister did owe her school, but she set up an arrangement to pay the school this month. Never receiving calls about owing money...just turned 21...and didn't want bad credit...she panicked and gave them all of her information. Account #...ssn# ...contact numbers...I said OH NO! First, she didn't receive any letters stating that her balance owed would be going to a collection agency, secondly...what law firm accept payments over the phone without proof of account information. I lectured my sister for hours.

I had to call her banking institution and set up identity theft protection and set up a block...so that nothing would come out of her account. They called several times to make sure that the money was there for them to extract on the agreed date. When she called them back and said that she made arrangements with the school and that the money would not be there for them to take out...guess what they did...yelled OK and hung up...HUNG UP...not this professional law firm.

EVANS LAW ASSOCIATES...IF YOU ARE READING THIS...YOU AREN'T SCARING ANYONE...YOU ARE SCUM BAGS CONS...TRYING TO TAKE MONEY FROM PEOPLE AND THE REPRESENTATIVE TELLING THE OTHER POSTER TO LEARN ENGLISH...THE WORD IS LYING NOT LIEING...YOU CONNIVING IDIOT

People...if someone calls requesting money...but will not give you any information on paper...DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION...always ask to see it on paper...ALWAYS.

I got a call a few weeks ago from them and they said they would call back today. They called 2 times today. I told them i do not have the money to pay it. They said at first they wanted it all then now the say no 115.00 for 3 months is ok. I can't pay that. (payday load from 2 years ago) I asked them to send out a letter and i said they didn't and they said DO NOT TELL ME WHAT I DID HAHAHA! And i said well i didn't get the letter. So she's sending another one out. I have till the end of the month to secure a payment if not mom will have a judgement against her. I offered her 50.00 and they said NO! That is not enough so i hung up. What should i do?

Do not deal with this company.  I have a very thorough understanding of the debt settlement process.  This is not a Law Firm.  They are misrepresenting themselves, which is illegal.  They seek out personal information over the phone.  Do not trust them or speak with them.  Just check out where they office out of

It might be better to file the complaints through the FTC as well as in civil court.  At worst he will have to pay you or anyone suing him minimum $1000 plus attorney costs for the improper behavior. Lets face it, he already knows the "scumbags" work for him.  What does he care as long as he has a viable business making money.

I almost fell for this it all started with someone named Dan calling my job, after telling him that this is my place of work I would call him back later.  When I did get in touch with him he told me I owed on a Best Buy Card from 6 years ago and they are willing to take a settlement.  I thought this was a little sketchy because was almost sure I never opened one, but I just forgot about it till one day I get a voice message on my cell phone stating she was with Evans Law Associates and to call her back referencing a case number.  I called her back thinking it may be a legit law firm and I get "Jennifer" a case manager who told me that they she was going to decide whether to settle or go to court about the amount I owe them.  Like a year earlier I got a summons from a real company and it shook me up so I began to panic and she told me the only way to stop this from going forward is that I give her some banking info and do a over the phone verification.  I then started to question it and she became very rude, and said she was doing me a favor and that I was lucky she was in the office that day because she never comes in on weekends (Yeah OK).
Still not being sure if I did or didn't have a Best Buy Credit Card and not wanting to be embarrassed by another summons I gave her my debit card info to be charged at the end of the month.  She thanked me and transferred me over to a gentlemen saying that he would record the phone call so that he can verify payment arrangements.  I agreed to that and he hung up.  As soon as I got off the phone I looked up Evans Law Associates and Scam and my computer blew up.  I felt so stupid. I called Jennifer (Last name is Heebner she wouldn't give it to me but I found it in the e-mail she sent me on the "Settlement Notice")  and told her what I found and I told her that I will be checking up with HSBC.  She then got very indignant saying that she works for a legit Law Office and screaming about giving me Jason Evans Bar #.  I told her no thanks and hung up the phone.  An hour later when I could charge my phone I called HSBC (the people who own the Best Buy Card) and asked if I EVER had an account with them the lady answered no. Wow I wasn't so much embarrassed more than I was glad I caught it in time.  I canceled my debit card and tried call "Jennifer" back but they wouldn't pick up the phone (The first time around it went right through)  So I sent her a nasty gram saying she'll never get a dime from me and to not contact me again.   I hope this saves people some time and stress headaches

Jason is my bankruptcy attorney from 2006. When I found all this info online, I decided to get to the bottom of it. Yes, Jason is a debt collector, but he is also a legitimate attorney and if he was a scammer, he'd have had his license revoked years ago!!!! He is collecting on debts that YOU caused! Pay your bills and you won't have to worry about his office calling you. He handled my bankruptcy with professionalism and it was stress free. I now pay my bills on time all the time and my phone never rings. He is legitimate, he's never been sued for illegal debt practices either. He's been collecting debts for over 7 years. If it was a scam, they would go to his office and arrest him. So please people, stop spreading rumors!!!

Just an update...the second I told them that I was in touch with the State Attorney's Office, they stopped calling me.  I didn't even bother telling them on the phone.  I emailed them (even though they claimed to not do business that way).  After that, I was left alone.  I was so close to making a payment to them, but saw that they have an F rating on the Better Business Bureau website.  BEWARE!

hello. i found this while searching for something else & it made me think of a time when my "bank" called me regarding transactions in my account. They called me, they knew my account number and they asked me for the last 4 of my social security number. I told them that I was not comfortable giving them that information since I really did not know who was calling me (anybody I have ever written a check to could have my account number).

ALL...PLEASE BEWARE!!! DO NOT EVER give your information to somebody who initiates the call with you. If you receive a call, politely tell them that as soon as you can verify that they are who they say they are, you will call back and readily give the information they need. THEN...like in my situation it was my bank. I went on the website for my credit union and called the 1-800 number where nobody knew what I was talking about...they had not tried to contact me.

ALL...STAY SAFE & TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES. I will be happy if this helps just one person. There are so many scams out there right now unfortunatey.

Received harrassing and rude calls from someone claiming to be representing Jason J. Evans in Cheektowaga, NY. Gave a fake address.  Demands personal information and can't be specific about the nature of the suit.  Total Scam.  Also suggest that they could 'loan' money to cover debt.

Called from 716-651-0354  and 716-651-0757.

I reported it to the Erie, DA's office who has a giant list of complaints. Recommend reporting complaints to NY State Attorney's office at 716-853-8400.

If you receive a call. HANG UP and report the scam. DO NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL INFO.
