I keep receiving phone calls from this number 800 459 8387.  
They are nasty with their abuse of MY phone.  
They call and because NO one picks up the  phone they leave
a nasty loud busing sound.    
They call often and even late.  
The last phone call came at 9:01 pm Sunday afternoon.  

Call from 18004598387 showed caller ID as unavailable & did not leave a message on the answering machine. One of the submissions on this site indicated the call was from the VietNam Vets Pickup. I called their number and at their "options" hit 0 and got an operator who agreed to take my number off their call list. we'll see if this works.

Called Sunday night around 9:30 PM and then again this morning (Monday) at 11:25. No message (rang 3 times and hung up). I will try the Verizon call blocking service - thanks for the tip!

This number calls several times a day.  Caller ID says "Unavailable."  We do not answer (I love caller ID!) As my husband says, "We are unavailable too."

There should be a way to block these calls.

This company calls multiple times on a daily basis.

Perhaps I would relax if their calls didn't start at 8 am.  If they weren't calling all day long...if someone was actually there when I answered. Sorry this is definitely harassment and I'm sick of it. We give and give to charity, I don't mind them asking but to call the number of times they do, is outrageous.

I have been receiving phone calls from this same number for months!!  I do not answer 800 or unavailable numbers as I have been told they are either soliciting services I don't need or are "charities" of dubious character that I wouldn't give a penny to.  My land line number is NOT listed so I have no idea how these places get my number.  How can we make these places stop their very unwanted calls?

I have had call after call from this va pickup-
#1 I am ON THE DNC LIST
#2 I will not tell anyone when I will or will not be home to provide them with donations!!!!

I have been receiving these calls for months and more then once a week- I have asked that they remove my number and to stop calling, what else can I do?

I changed my message too. Called my number and changed it again. I sounded kind of threatening. These calls are extremely annoying. Nonstop all week. Do not call list did not work for me.

This is just one of many mystery calls that hit my phone on a daily/weekly basis without leaving a message.  I don't know how I ever got by without caller-id.  I put the following message on my answering machine, but the lady of the house said it was obnoxious and I had to take it down:
Hello! (10 second pause) "If you've blocked your caller-id, you probably won't be talking to me.  Please leave a message at the sound of the tone, otherwise, Please, don't ring this phone".

AMEN,   I have checked on several Charities,Most sell what you give them and as little as 10 cents on the Doller ....actually goes to the Charity that they Represent ......Non-Profit is a misnomer.....Ask them a few questions,ask them to send you information by Mail........Most won't.

So Sorry for your plight,CALL ME UNTIL THE COWS COME HOME......I will NEVER answer  if  I do NOT recognize the caller.I Do not contribute to any Charity that Calls,When I have a donation to make .....I will call you....But you have called me so much that I will not Donate to you anymore,You aggravate me,over and over.........you disturb me ,you make me angry.....NO I WILL NEVER ANSWER YOUR CALLS.........GIVE UP ,I will never be so Stupid as to Fall into your Trap  and YOU ,go get a real JOB,They are out there....If you are willing to WORK and not sit on your behind calling people every day.......GET A REAL JOB!!

Strongly suggest the purchase of phone with call blocking or an add on call blocker. It's been much quieter since I installed one.

I answer no response. I give to charities regardless. They are helping me clean out my closets-recycle stuff.

Wow.  I'd forgotten all about that!  Hadn't used ACR in years, but I tried it and I got the activation announcement.  Thanks, Jodi.  It ought to cut some of the chaff, even though an "out of area" or other Caller ID placekeeper slug won't stop those particular calls.  In fact, another one from the very number we're talking about came in as I was typing this.  It was slugged "Out of area."

I just discovered Verizon offers "anonymous call rejection" on my land line phone. If someone calls me with a blocked (unavailable on caller ID) number my phone will no longer ring, the caller will get a recording that says "This number does not accept anonymous calls"  To activate it I just dialed *77 and heard a recording anonymous call rejection service in now on.  To deactivate it I would just need to dial *87...if you have Verizon, it is worth a shot to try it.  

I have asked this charity to no longer call me.  They still kept calling though they are legally required to honor removal requests, so up until now I would pick up and hang up but they simply call right back.  Hopefully this Verizon service will put an end to it.
