Hey idiot - I do not believe Geez indicated that they owe anything... did they?. Since you obviously work for this organization or one like it, you understand better that most of these companies go 'fishing' for alike names, very old debts, etc.

I am one of the people who PAYS their bills and still scam artist so called collection agency gets it wrong.  Explain that!!!  They try to scare people into paying money they don't owe.  I had just paid my COMCAST bill three days before this call AND immediately got on the phone with a supervisor at COMCAST to triple confirm that I had nothing in debt collection and was NOT past due on anything relating to them (COMCAST).  So first of all these agencies should do their due dilligence before calling up people and threatning to do this or that.  Plus, ah duh if my account was that far into collections why am I taking the call in front of my TV WATCHING COMCAST CABLE?????   If I was ever that deliquent you don't think they would have pulled the PLUG??? Such a joke and such poor business practice.  And what would you call them getting it wrong??? Harrassment?  I would.

The only open loan that i have is with WFC and i called them to ask them if they had sent it to collections and they stated that they had not sent it to collections and that they dont use collection agencies. I havent got any phones calls but i cant have this on my credit as i am trying to purchase a house soon. Has anyone had this to happen?

Found this report after doing a web search on this company...Southwest Credit System. This isn't the only suspicious report on these guys, and I am one that was notofied by my credit watch dog that they had reported an unpaid amount of $119 plus change on me. I had no idea where that amount came from or who I owed it to. Just because something shows up on your credit report does NOT mean it is actually your unpaid debt. Take the time to get to the bottom of the issue...it will be worth your time and aggravation.

Success against SouthWest Credit Systems !!

. . ..
?11-07-201001:21 AM

Great story to report of a recent success against Southwest Credit Systems based out of Plano/Carrollton, TX area. These people are very shady. Reported a collection on my credit report which did not belong to me. After numerous phone calls and letters asking them politely to remove this collection from my credit file, they persisted in their foolishness.

Well, had enough of it so i filed a complaint with the State Attorney General's office, and further checked with the Alabama Sec. of State's office and come to find out that these crooks are not even registered in the State of Alabama to do business and proceed with collections here.

Then another call to Southwest Credit Systems asking for their registered agent in the State of Alabama, and guess what, within two days, the collection miraclously dissappeared from my credit files.

So, people- before you decide to give in- check if these collection agencies are even registered with your state, if not, in most cases, there is no way they can collect from you unlessly you just send them a check !!!  - now, consulting my brother to see if i can take this collection agency to Court !!

If anyone plans on filing a class action lawsuit against this company please let me know by replying to this post. I have been getting harassed as well and I have NEVER had an AT&T or T-mobile cell phone. I live near their office and went in to talk to a supervisor and they refused to let me talk to any live person. Then, I filed a police report but they are still investigating. In the mean time I am still getting calls twice a day. Very annoying!!

This is a real debt collector company and if youre reading this you should hang up. Just ask for the details like what you owe and all that and then call the company (mine was at&t) that you owe money to. Southwest WILL TELL YOU false info in order for you to pay which is their job. That's one reason why SW credit is reported as a scam often. They will be rude and pushy. But if you call the company you owe money to, They will work with you and try to be polite bc it affect company image.

Jessica found out the hard way why you don't pay any collector without a challenge. First job is raising a dispute on paper, NOT worrying about how to pay. Try this scenario:

EOS-CCA (aka Collecto / Collection Company of America) is a debt buyer which likely picked up the moldy telco debt for a tiny fraction of that $600. At some point EOS gave up trying and assigned or resold some or all of the account balance, which is how Southwest got a bite at it. At this point no one can prove for sure the debt was ever valid, and the original creditor is long gone from this picture and *not* getting another dollar.

Between the two agencies, Jessica is racing in circles and figure-eights for the sole purpose of *throwing money away* on companies well known for lies and lawbreaking to make their quotas. Want to know what's wrong with Jessica's picture? Read the federal laws her pursuers have ignored:

Jessica plainly said she "spoke with Mr. Miller" already. Fat lot of good that did her. She's left hanging to dry and more confused, right where you wanted her. Also thanks for confirming the real reason for buying those temp local phone numbers, to fool people into taking yet more hassling and misleading calls.

try calling 866-201-5749.  I work with Mr. Miller and he is always there to help if you call this number it will forward you to co where the office is which just opened last may.  If a local number calls you it's because it's to get the person to answer there are a lot of people who wouldnt pick up a 1-800 number.   if you need to send info and the fax is not working try to mail out the info.  But give Mr. Miller a call!!!

Received my first call from these guys today regarding a balance with Comcast routed through a local number.  Had no idea I had a missed payment, I am guessing that it was from the last month in my old apartment, but the South-west credit guy would get VERY irritated if I asked for any further information about the payment, and even more irate if I told him I wanted to follow up with Comcast directly.  His attitude left a foul taste in my mouth and I kept telling him I wanted to talk to Comcast before paying him anything.  He kept threatening me saying 'time was up, we are the debt collectors', 'you need to pay now, I know you can' and such but I had read their stories here and didn't want to give him any info.  Always nice to be talked over when trying to deal rationally with something like this, let alone having insults slung my way.  I have no doubt the majority of their customers are very evasive and their attitude certainly strikes the fear in you.  Have the means to pay, and will pay Comcast directly, I am settling the payment with Comcast now, and hopefully won't have to deal with anymore of this jibronis antics.  Would not be surprised if this is a shed in someones back yard...

Back in 2001 I purchased a wireless contract with Cingular wireless.  My contract was a family plan with 3 phones.  In 2004-2005 Cingular finalized merger plans with AT&T, there were serveral changes during that time frame but it finally ended with Cingular becomming AT&T wireless.

I continued with that plan until 2012.  In April 2010 I purchased my final phone (a Motorala slide phone with limited data service).  In October 2010 I renewed my grandson's plan without buying a new phone.  I needed a new sim card to enable his Iphone that he purchased himself for $350 from another source and I needed a 2 year agreement to update his card.

At the end of April 2012 I cancelled my wife's phone since that contract had run out 2 years previously.  We had moved from another state and were getting a new cheaper service with an local area code.  I made arrangements with my grandson's step father to assume financial responsibilty for his contract (something AT&T offers).  I also tried to cancel my contract but was unable to do because of the inability to complete this request at one of AT&T satelite stores.

I called AT&T to find out why.  I was told that my phone was a special phone and my actual contract runs for 6 more months, and my grandson's contract was under the old Cingular plan and therefore ineligible for the financial responsibility change.  The phone I had was limited data and only allowed me 2MB per month before I would be charged overage.  I knew that so I was unable to use the data that came with my phone because of the limitations.

I asked them since they are a high tech company and took over the old Cingular company they also should have assumed all contract responsibities of any contracts with Cingular.  If my Cincular contract was now invalid with AT&T then my original Cingular contract was null and void.

They said I owed $175 for my grandson's early cancellation and $135 for the early cancellation of mine.  I asked them to send me proof that I should be charged for additional 6 months on my contract and a copy of the legal agreement that my grandson's contract was not inter-changeable with AT&T.  They said they couldn't do that.  They can't come up with any agreement and I had full-filled my assumed agreement of a 2 year contract.

I have been contacted by a collection agency (Southwest Credit) and I asked the agent to send me all the paperwork that pertains to my contracts.  He said they don't have that, they only have a buyout agreement with AT&T for my outstanding balance.

Here is my story. Can someone tell me whats going on?

I had an account with at&t but closed it. Knowing I still owed about 600 on it. I paid about 200, and stopped paying. It then went to a collecter named EOS CCA, where I paid a little over 200.00. They were to take out the rest of the amount two weeks later, however I was watching my bank and it never went through. (they never tried) I then kept getting call from (316) 665-7131 saying I owed money for my at&t account. I let them know I was dealing with EOS CCA and I've paid them, however they have yet to take out the second payment. I spoke with Mr. Miller who was nice and told me to fax the paper where it shows I paid EOS CCA and because they were the same account number it would be paid in full. I've tried to fax over the information, however their fax number is always busy. So the past two weeks I keep getting these call saying I still owe the full 600 because EOS CCA is not their company and it doesn't matter that I paid another creditor. I've tried to get back in touch with Mr. Miller but everyone says he's not in, or he is not at the location. I've asked for number but I'm guessing it was the wrong number because it just rang and rang and rang. I've talked to at&t and they say they can't tell me how much is still due because its not their account anymore. But what doesn't make sense to me is I googled this Southwest credit system and it says they are located in Texas with a number of .800.637.7439, so why are they calling me from aWichita number and when I call at&t for the creditors number they give me a number of 1.800.462.3894?

This company is claiming a debt from my mother whom has never had any account with the company they claim and since I am her executor and taken care of everything since she passed away over a year ago I know everything about her finances. Plus, anyone claiming a debt had 3 months after her passing to contact me and no one has until this Southwest Credit. They will not provide me any information regarding this matter or what they claim, only calling and sending a letter to try to get over 200.00 for a fraudulent claim.

Southwest Credit Systems calls on your cell phone looking for somebody, not you, then says to hit a button if you are not that person, but that does not work.  When you get a person, they are rude and hang up on you and do not take you off their list.

They refuse to let you speak to a supervisor.
Call your local Attorney General and report them.
They need to be reprimanded to the fullest extent of the law.
They only get away with this because people don't follow through with a complaint.

I am a former employee of this company, and I can tell you first hand that while their collections practices aren't the worst in the industry, see Nationwide Recovery Systems, they do try to walk the edge of legality in order to collect as much as they can from the debtors they call. They are regularly in the practice of telling their employees not to break the law, but will look the other way for employees who bring in more money. In other words the more money you bring in the more likely the owner and management of the company are to look the other way if you cross the legal line. They treat their employees like dirt, I myself worked for them for almost a decade and the last three years of my employment I didn't receive a raise. It got so bad that I was literally going broke trying to continue to work for them. The company has changed hands only once during it's thirty plus years in business, and the current owner is such an awful human being that he forced out the manager of operations who was working for them when he took over, he bought out his partner because he didn't agree with the way he wanted to run the company, and his financial backer has now left him flat. If you are receiving phone calls from this company I recommend looking up and studying the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, which you can find here; www.ftc.gov/.../cre27.pdf. Then once you have caught them in violation of the law I recommend calling an attorney, telling them what they did, what part of the law they violated, and then let the attorney do the work. You'll get a nice little payoff for it. They will normally settle all violations of federal law out of court via a $1500 to $2000 payoff depending on the severity of the violation.

Be aware of 877-818-9117. This is also south west debt collector number that i received a phone call from. The man I talked with said I owed money and I was unsure about what he was talking about. I asked him a lot of questions about the debt. He said I had no choice. It definitely scared me. I'm only 21 and I don't have very much credit anyways. I asked for the amount. asked if there was somewhere else I could pay. online or by mail. He told me there was an extra fee of $5.95 to do it online. I said ok. He said he would give me 10 min. to do it online.  I asked if he had any of my info. He said he had my drivers license, ssn, different phone numbers to contact me if I didn't answer his calls. I asked for specific numbers. He told me I had to deal with the debt right now over the phone. He didn't give me any proof that He actually had my info. After I hung up I realized he didn't even give me the online site.  I called my mom and asked her what I should do. She said it sounded fishy as well. . . She said not to worry about it, they didn't send you any notice in the mail. It's illegal for them to call if you have not received a notice by mail.
