I received a call from this number and answered it. it was a lady calling from GM R&D and asked me about my overall satisfaction with my vehicle and asked me if there was anything that i would like to see changed/improved in future models. So after about a 5-10 minute conversation where i pointed out some things i would like to see changed she confirmed my mailing address (I did not give it, just confirm) and she said there would be a small token of appreciation mailed to that address.

GM Customer service updating their ownership and warranty information.
They want to know your mileage, phone number (eventhough THEY'VE called YOU!
And a sales-pitch for your trouble of answering their questions about your vehicle.
It's a sales-call masquerading as a customer-info-update.
You can ask them about any recalls, but that's about it, and the staff seems to be very
slow and unfamiliar with the systems they are using.

Rec'd a call claiming to be from General Motors. Addressed me by name as well as quoting year & model of the car I drive. I have no doubt that this is GM.
They apparently are doing customer satisfaction follow up. However, the message left did mention "exclusive limited time offer" so I guess it's really a telemarketing pitch.

Received a voice mail from 800-463-7483 today...and a few more before this!
It is General Motors offering special deals on GM vehicles. I had forwarded all toll-free numbers to voicemail hence my phone did not ring.
To their credit, the caller had the decency everytime to leave a message telling about the deals.
