800-465-2422

Been called several times by this number and when I answer there's just air on the other end. If it IS CIBC, then I don't know why they'd be calling me because I don't have any account with them.

Recorded message claiming to be from CIBC, telling me that they extended their banking hours. Since I never go to a CIBC bank, I simply do not care.

I got this call today too, left a message ( onlyhalf of it was recorded), saying they are from CIBC, and call me to visit their branch? what the hell is it?
But the telephone number shown on the caller id display does not match with their official telephone number, strange. should i call them back?

I got this call. Missed it. Looks like I'm good.

CIBC announcing they are now open longer hours

"This is CIBC calling - we'd like to inform you that we have extended our branch hours" ... WTF for do I need to be called by a computer to be told this? What jack***es. Clearly phone spam.

I don't have a CIBC account, why would I care about their hours of service?

CIBC using this number to inform of extended hours; left an automated voicemail to that effect.
i remember getting a 1-800 call from CIBC a while back with important info about a lost credit card. i didn't answer it because i don't answer 1-800s period; they're almost always telemarketers. so i missed an important call because CIBC places out-calls on toll-free lines.
and yeah, this call actually came in as a "11-800"
Pam Thompson 2012-12-15 19:02:06 Unknown
I am not with CIBC why would they be calling me about extended hours? I doubt they are CIBC or they wouldn't be calling someone who doesn't even have an account with them! They have called twice in an hour!

ABSOLUTE DISREGARD FOR PRIVACY-WHETHER YOU ARE ON SHIFT AND HOME SLEEPING OR HOME ILL WITH CANCER. HOW CAN CIBC THINK THIS IS GOING TO HELP THEIR IMAGE. I'LL NEVER DEAL WITH PEOPLE LIKE THIS.

Extended Business hours call......waste of time.

Got a call from them today, but they called from 1-1-800-465-2422. Not sure how they added the extra 1, because all 1-8** numbers are auto blocked on my cell phone. By adding the 1 it by passed the autoblock. I'm not with CIBC nor do I have voicemail, so I don't know what they had to say. If they call again their number will be blocked in my phone. I don't need this spam calling me all the time.

Got a call from this number while I was out today. They left a message saying it was CIBC and they were extending their banking hours. Interesting as I don't bank with CIBC and haven't for years.

Called Nov.30@3:38pm - Display say "Unknown Name" If legit, why doesn't it say CIBC? I already had a call, which I heard about longer hours. I think this is a pretense to telemarket 'potential' consumers. Perhaps CIBC could make a posting as to whether or not this is legit?
Joella 2012-12-10 18:32:00 Unknown
CIBC left a recorded msg on my machine informing me that their banking hours are now extended. Short and to the point - not annoying for a change. This phone number is listed on every CIBC bank card.
BingoRingo 2012-12-07 23:29:19 Unknown
"This is CIBC calling. We'd like to inform you that we have extended our banking hours bla bla bla bla"
Was this really necessary?
Joe 2012-12-06 00:56:36 Unknown
Message was half way through when I picked-up the phone. Hung-up. Turns-out to be CIBC and had to go to the bank to reset a code.

CIBC calling to say they've extended their branch hours.

Got an automated call just telling me CIBC had extended their service hours. Essentially: phone SPAM.
whatever 2012-12-04 19:33:24 Unknown
i think its a scam too. it left a weird 'cibc' recorded message, but CIBC never phones from unidentified numbers. When i tried to call it back there was a weird recorded voicemail with lots of static.

Got a call from 800-465-2422 today, but was at work, so let it go to Voice-mail. Listened to voice-mail after, it was an pre-recorded message announcing that CIBC has prolong their office hours. That was it... I wish they could just send an email for that instead of calling. It was completely impersonal and a waste of time.

Is someone spoofing the bank CIBC number?
the name displayed is a well known scammer called 'toll free service'

Banks in Canada have started cancelling all cards that were used over an extended period of time at a single merchant who has had a bank customer claim they had their card stolen and used there. So shop at a sex shop or other type of merchant that is popular withe customers for illegitimately contesting charges and your card may be tagged because a prude felt guilty about buying a di**o but not about lying about it. Sex shops aren't the only places but they are the easiest for making the point of how retarded this policy which inconveniences consumers so banks don't have to make good on their promise to protect your money.
I know this because of Scotiabank who kept cancelling my card until I contacted the office of the president who informed me that a small convenience store that I went to had a high rate of people contesting the charges but only because the name they used to process charges was different than their business. So for a candy bar I had to spend close to 3 hours on the phone and at my "home branch" to help Scotia Bank increase their bottom line.

I had a call from 888 831 8818 asking me to call 800 465 2422, which, as mentioned above, is CIBC telephone banking and has been for as long as I can remember. That number is on the back of the CIBC convenience card. Apparantly there was a suspicion that the card had been compromised. I had to go to my nearest CIBC ATM (fortunately just a 3 minute walk round the corner) and change my PIN. CIBC wouldn't tell me which vendor was causing the problem. If I find out I'll know not to shop there again- ever. Checked my bank account on line and at the ATM and the balance agrees exactly with what my own accounting says. If someone thought that they were going to retire to the Bahamas with what I'm worth, they were very much mistaken!

1-800-465-2422 is the number for CIBC Telephone Banking, not a collections agency. If you're receiving calls from that number it usually means your account was flagged and you need to call back or go into a branch to find out what's going on.
For example, the call I received from them was to let me know that my card may have been compromised and that I need to change my PIN.

Harassing calls every day with rude comments such as "you don't have the money do you?". Unbelievable that such a huge organization would have such low lifes working for them. Also called me at work after being asked to stop. I complained about "Laura" (the rep that kept calling me) to someone higher up but I doubt anything was done. How these people sleep at night is beyond me!!!
