I have received numerous calls from this number for someone I don't know (someone named "Wendy"). No doubt this is the person who had my cell number before I had it (you know how Sprint recycles these). I told the caller never to call again and that I would report them to Do Not Call (which I did) but they continue to harrass me, even though I told them I don't know who this "Wendy" person might be.

The number is for Hollander Law Offices. They work with West Asset Management out of Marietta, Ga

Federal law trumps state laws in the recording of phone calls for collections.  You can not record any phone without the express permission of all parties involved.  This is why many companies have an announcement that they record all calls.  By doing this they give you a chance to hang up.

I have had them identify themselves as this agency, but not by this number as of yet.

The FDCPA is the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, this works if you tell them they are in violation of it & they receive a letter stating it also.

And if they don't stop calling you, you tell them you will sue them under violation of the FDCPA, & if that doesn't stop them, you go through with the law suit against them, b/c they got it in writing & in black & white, which they have to stop calling you then!!!

Called # back 202-540-5119 busy...busy...busy   Who are these people?

Received a call today..it's on my caller ID. Scared me. I don't have any outstanding debts, but I thought maybe it was about my son. I tried calling the #(202)540-5119, but only got a busy signal. They did not leave a message. I will not be calling them back after reading all of these horror stories.

Hollander Law is just a call center agency that takes on many clients.  They are currently doing calls for the Republican Party.  They are not an official debt collection agency or they would not be making calls on behalf of the Republican Party.  My caller ID said Hollander Law 202-540-5119 with a voice mail recording from Mitt Romney.  I have in the past received calls from Hollander Law as a debt collector trying to collect on an old debt I once had.  This leads me to believe they are just a call center!!!!  Don't be scared by them if you owe a debt!

The proper response would be "Anything" of yours. There should also be an apostrophe ('s) after the "g" in belong. Agency should be "agencies". Fail should be "failed".

This is why there is such a communication gap and lack of understanding of both the situation and the law with those making the harrassing calls and those receiving them. Maybe a night course in proper speech?

trust me they did not like getting certified mail from my civil attorney. They backed off very quickly when dealing with a $750 dollar an hour attorney. They remanded payment to provide verification of debt. Wow huge violation of FDRC guidelines. Hope they like my small claim summons for unauthorized credit check, all the way to California, :)

We're in bankruptcy and they call us illegally

We're in bankruptcy and they keep calling us illegally.

They call us from this number and we are in bankruptcy.  They are illegally trying to collect a debt from us.

Ms hollander would be much better performer if she listen to the customer. Because of her playing deaf with me, I will never answer a call from her again.

Any debt collector who calls YOU about a debt has to follow the laws in YOUR state, and the laws of the state in which THEY are operating.

I've been getting calls from this number and at least 13 others from all over the US.  All of the numbers show as Hollander Law.  I have no unpaid debt.  My first thought was that someone opened a credit card in my name so I pulled all 3 credit reports and there was nothing.  They call at least 5 times a day and ask me for my SS#.  I told them if I owe a debt then I'm sure they already have my SS#.  They always say they need it to verify that they are speaking to the correct person.  Don't give it to them!  They will keep on and say well give me the last 4 of your social.  I tell them that if they are a law office they should know that you are not supposed to give personal info over the phone.  They keep telling me that "the calls will continue" and I tell them "that's great, you're not bothering me a bit, it gives me someone to talk to all day".  This really ticks them off.  Then they sent me a letter, not even on a letterhead, with PO Box 105836 Atlanta, GA 30348-5836 with a phone ext of 82007.  It is signed by Robert L Bowers - Director of Operations.  After much research, this is a confirmed SCAM.  DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE A PENNY!  Send them a certified letter making a request for validation of this so called debt.  They won't have anything to send you.  Report them to the Bar Association and the BBB.  They haven't heard the end of me!

Received call from 1-800-466-1505 x82014, from a Mrs. Jackson. They have been calling both work and home.  In these times, who has money to pay.  I would rather make my mortgage then pay off any debt.  A roof over my head is far better than having perfect credit.

TO A COMPANY CALLED CONNOR & CONNOR MOTORS . I TOLD THEM THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT OR WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE . THEY SAID , I CAN PAY THIS LOAN OFF OR PAY BY PAYMENT. I MYSELF AM STILL INVESTIGATING THIS SITUATION .

This company is not on my credit report anywhere- I am not speaking to them period- they call me 4 to 5 times a day- This is stupid- I can not help the fact that I have dedit- BUT I do not have any account with them and have not recd any letters so---- I am not speaking to them- I am going to see what can be done to change laws because I will get fired if they keep calling my work number .
