I recieved a call from this SCAM outfit but they must have done there homework because i did take an Ambulance ride a few months ago, But the reason I know its a scam is because the county I live in has an Ambulance levy where we all pay a few extra dollars on out taxes & the county provides free Ambulance service to the residents of the county, (key word there would be FREE). I am going to have so much fun with them when they call back ..... LMAO.

Received a call from 1-800-468-0219 saying it regards a business matter and with a reference number to call. Does not identify who is calling or what it is in regard to. Since they cannot identify themselves and it is a computer voice I am not calling them back. If they were legitimate they would leave actual specifics and identify themselves and the matter to be discussed. I do not call back unidentified people.

Received the standard recorded call today, very low in volume so that I could barely hear them.  I promptly hung up.  I did, in fact, recently (mid-July) ride in a Yuma RURAL METRO ambulance, but my insurance covered all the associated costs.  If they call back I will take action against them.

I too thought this was a scam after researching the number but soon realized it was a legitimate call. I had received ambulance services a few months back and the ambulance company had been mailing the bill to an old address on my license. So they called me and requested payment. I was skeptical at first as the person who called did not identify where they were calling from or why they were calling. I ended up calling my health insurance company who contacted the ambulance company for me me and confirmed that all I had to pay was my $100 copay.

So if you have recently received ambulance services and have not paid your bill, then this is most likely a legitimate call.

I am receiving phone calls from this number and receiving messages on the internet also today. I spoke with my phone company about this. I think some person(s)  are trying to get access to my account on line.  Phone company said they were blocking all phone numbers  with unknown names so they cant call. They have since called more, so that didnt work. I want it to stop . I am going to try to block it myself.

the problem is, i never used their service. If they think I owe them a debt perhaps they should acutally lvm the name of the person they are trying to reach (me)?? Hmm?? But no. When I pick up it is dead air. This is not going to accomplish anything, even if I did owe them money, which I do not.

and by the way, it is "common sense" not "common since". Hard for anyone to take you seriously when you write worse than a kindergartener. I think you are just an unhappy person and wish to anger people that are already angry from teh safetly of your pc.

I have worked in collections by the way. Every person I called I left my first name, my contact info, who I was trying to reach, and why. It is pretty simple, that is why it only pays $12/hr. They are failing bad and the results are multiple complaints (probably not only here but with teh BBB as well).

i have never used an ambulance in my life. I haven't been to a doctor in years. When they lvm, they do not address me (usually you say somehting like - "this message is for '(name)' regarding '(debt)', I am (name of person calling) please call me back at (number to be reached)" - & they leave no name other than 'rural metro', and no contact info.

The persistent calls I receive from this and other RuralMetro owned numbers are indeed scam attempts.
1. I have NEVER in my life been in a RuralMetro ambulance and RuralMetro does not provide EMS where I live and work. No one in my immediate family has ever been a RuralMetro client/patient.
2. They are calling my VOIP line 10-15 times a day from 8am to 8pm. That is violation of Federal Law for a legitimate collector.

These people are calling several times a day, when I answer they hang up.  SCAM of some kind.  Blocked the call, let them waste their time but it is annoying.  We have not used an ambulance in over 20 years.  Will report them.

We get at least 3 calls per week from 1-800-468-0219 Rural Metro Ambulance.  I answer and the call is disconnected as soon as I do.  If they are calling for a legitimate reason I would either hear a recording or speak to a person.

I used the local ambulance in Sunnyvale about a month ago and got a bill from these guys which has PO BOX 3495 Toledo, OH 43607, as return address. Called the number and they started to ask my name, address and DOB & when I told them my insurance will pay the bill, they hung up. Any idea what to do about this?

This is a collection call from Rural Metro Ambulance who apparently collects for many different companies. They started calling before the insurance even was to pay the bill. They also call even though they have been receiving regular scheduled monthly installations toward a $460.00 remainder post insurance. Talk to them once and then refuse calls after that. Any company harassing paying customers is really stupid.

Honestly it seems pretty legit..

at first they kept calling once every two days or so, but there was nobody on the line, not even an automated message, then it just hung up.
today i finally decided to call back, got a voice recording saying it was some ambulance service, it gave me a few options, but i just stayed on the line.

finally someone picked up, a nice lady who identified herself as "rural medical", and politely asked for my phone number to look up the case. she asked me if a knew a (first, last name) person, and i said no, never heard of her before.
she then apologized and told me i wouldn't be receiving any calls anymore.

we'll see what happens..

This is a legitimate company, the collections department for Rural Metro Ambulance. Check out this website: http://www.ruralmetro.com/billing-information.html.  It just seems like a SCAM because of their terrible business practices. They are definitely not following legal practices and I plan to report them to as many agencies as possible. They have put me through a lot of stress for no reason as our ambulance bill was already paid for by insurance! Please report them so that this harassment can stop and others will not have to suffer!

Just know that you don't really have to pay this, even if you did owe money to this company or any other health facility. When it comes to health care bills and payment you really don't have to pay them if you don't have the money for it anyway. Don't be afraid of them saying "third party collections" because this means they are going to sell your 'bill' to a collection agency that will then increase the interest on what you owe. After they sell your bill they actually are writing off your bill and you really don't need to pay anything. This also doesn't effect your credit score, even though it's on your credit report it doesn't effect your score. So don't worry about paying this or any health care bill, because really there are more things you need to pay in life instead of healthcare bills that should be free in the first place.

I received a call from 8004680219 at 9:00 this morning.  No one responded after I said hello several times, so I hung up then dialed *69 to get the phone number.  If this is really Southwest/Metro Ambulance, my late husband had been transported from a hospital to a adult care nursing home shortly before he passed away in March, but this bill has been paid.  If I still owed money, I'm sure there would have been a message or someone would have spoken to me.  If they don't stop calling, I'll report them to the National Do Not Call Registry.

I contacted ParentGiving.Com after receiving a voice mail from 480-270-6326 (Scottsdale, AZ) with this 800 number as the call-back (and a "reference number") and a couple of subsequent phone calls from 1-800-917-7244, which I looked up on this site and has turned out to be the same scammer.  No voice mail.

I only received these calls on my cell phone, not my home phone.  The voice mail mentioned my name, identified my father's name, and said it was a "personal business matter."

I recently bought something for my father via ParentGiving so I wondered if either they had been hacked or perhaps had received limited information by paying for it.  They responded immediately and after seeing these websites about the victims of this scam they are concerned.  By the way, they called me at the number in their database... same number at which the scammer is calling me.

For those who do not know ParentGiving.com, it is a web company that you can use to buy supplies for your elderly parents, especially if they live far away it is very convenient (and also convenient for a scammer who can convince you that you didn't know about the ambulance ride.  If this sounds familiar to you, maybe we could have identified one of the sources of the scammer.

I called to request my number be taken off their call list.

First the guy pretended he couldn't hear me and faked his voice so it simulated the call breaking up.

I clearly repeated I wanted my number off his call list.

When he asked for my name, I told him it was none of his business and he quickly hung up.

Kabateck Brown Kellner, LLP, represents a family whose member, a young man, suffered fatal side effects from Accutane that was prescribed to treat his acne. Specifically, plaintiffs claims that Accutane, produced and marketed by defendants Hoffman La Roche, Inc., and Roche Laboratories, led to their family member?s depression and subsequent suicide. Plaintiffs contend that Accutane should have carried a warning label about the possible negative emotions that it could invoke. In proving that Accutane can result in depression, plaintiffs will rely upon the expert opinion of Dr. James Bremner, an expert in psychiatry and nuclear medicine who has performed research in this area.

PEOPLE.....report these peopel to the attorney generals office. there are laws collection agencies have to abide by. for instance, out of state collection agencies cannot call you, they have to correspond by mail. Another thing, call them and make payment arrangements, say three payments of $xx.xx and make them agree to remove it from your credit report, and ASK for a paid in full letter. There is nothing they can do except take you to court and petition for a judgement to garnish your wages, and even then you still have 20 days to pay them off. document every payment, when they call get their first name.
people - you must stay ahead of these predators.  they are getting aggressive now because they are desperate for money. if at all possible, go back to the original debtor and bypass the collection agency because they keep most of the money and give the doctor less than half.
