THIS IS QWEST

I work for Qwest and if you simply call the number back it will show that it IS Qwest.  It is the collection department calling you with a friendly reminder that your bill is due (usually a business account)- so all of these reports are FALSE.

Connie from Focus Communications was the person and company calling. The number they called in on wasn't even our main line. She tried to say she was from Qwest and when I asked her what company she was really from she still said Qwest. I then explained to her I knew she wasn't from Qwest and that I would like to know which company she worked for. She told me she was from Focus Communications and then proceeded to tell me the number I could call and they would answer as Qwest.

I called Qwest fraud department about this and gave them their name and phone number and explained what had happened. I think the only reason scams like this work is that most people are not informed of what Qwest does and how they market. They will not call you directly to sell you service. They do not hire outside companies to sell their service over the phone. So next time you get the call, just let them know you are aware of the fact that they are lying to get your business and you have no desire to do business with a company like that. They usually hang up pretty quickly.

This company misrepresents themselves as Qwest. When pushed, they say they are a "third party provider" to Qwest and try to pressure whoever is on the line to switch DSL service (and perhaps more, I don't know). When asked for a phone number, they resist, saying this is an outbound call center only. After asking for a supervisor, they give a customer service number, 877-427-8776 (number does not show up in online directories). The calls have been coming for 10 days now. Yesterday, I asked to be removed from the list. I just received a call less than 12 hours later.

My boss informed me he received a call from this number with a message on the company voicemail asking to verify my employment. The caller represented his self as being from a Wakefield and Associates out of Aurora Colorado. I have not applied for any resent credit or any thing else that might require a verification of employment so now I am actually a little worried about what this might be about.......

I just got a call from that number too - I was in the office, answered, said Hello a few times, and got no reply and hung up.

Maybe they did not like the Trance music I was playing. LOL

They call and ask to speak with the person in charge of the Qwest account.  I ask if they are calling from Qwest and let them know that I only deal directly with Qwest and it stops them immediately.

I have received calls from this number off and on over the last year.  They never leave a message but will call several times a day if you don't answer.  If you answer, they always say they are from qwest and ask for the owner or decision maker on the qwest account. Upon questioning them they either clarify that they are just representing qwest to give you lower rates or they rudely hang up.  I have asked each time when possible that they remove my phone number from their list, I already have my own qwest representative.  They will either confirm they will do this or they just hang up with no response. Very rude and aggressive!  I will definitely try the #57 next time.  I think they are totally scammers!

I fell for it. They say they represent Qwest when in fact they are trying to get your business away from them. They basically say "May I speak to the person who handles your Qwest account?" They are not Qwest so just be aware. You can call Qwest (Now CenturyLink) and have them put a carrier change block on your phone. I'm pretty sure there's no charge for that.

Why does quest keep calling we have their phone service already ? Half the time we answer and they hang up on us. It might be a scam, as they don't know the name of the account holder and they should have that information.

Like everyoone else, they keep calling my office.  Only difference is when I answer they don't say anything and I hang up.  Easy solution, I've placed them on my call blocking system.

Talked to Katrina last week from this number, she said she was with QWEST.  She had my account info for my business phone, wanted to review my account.  Got the sales pitch to add internet and long distance, said I didn't want it, she went through speel again saying it would save me monthly, I got frustrated saying I had already told her NOT INTERESTED and I wasn't going to change my mind.  She hung up on me.

Got a call yesterday, no message and again today where no one was on the line.  I called this number back, Katrina answered the phone.  Told her I spoke to her last week, reviewed the account and wanted to be removed from the call list.  She said it would take 4-6 WEEKS, I told her if I received another call after 24 hours that I would be reporting it.

So I called QWEST, this is a company that uses their information, BUT NOT PART OF QWEST.  She was nice and understanding about it.  She told me if I continued to get calls, to answer them, when they hang up I was to dial *57.  After 3 times doing this, it will automatically be reported the the annoyance call bereau and be blocked from calling my number.  I am so going to try this and recommend everyone else who gets annoyed by these calls do the same!!

They just called me, noticed they called yesterday and hung up. I hung up on them because I'm not getting scammed. The man said he was voice something or something and that Qwest barely calls their customers so they have been contracted to call Qwest customers and verify their account information to tell me that I have their info. Talk about major BS. Qwest needs to do something about this TOLL FREE 1-800-471-0338
